It's so nice to see an adult feel and act as unapologetically excited as a child! It really warmed my heart and made me smile. I'm so glad you found this place. Now, all the fans can share your excitement! Thank you!!!
Thanks friend for doing something that i always daydreamed of doing as a child. I was 10yrs old when i first watched charlie and the chocolate factory and watched it over the years always around Christmas time and when you did that roll...it was a beautiful moment!
I had a proud mama moment this week when my 14 year old daughter came to me and said that she watched both versions of the movie (Gene Wilder vs Johnny Depp) and wanted to know how they ever thought they could do better than the original. Her words spoke right to the heart of the matter - "Mom. Gene Wilder *WAS* and always will be my Willy Wonka. No one else could ever do it right." That right there...that is truth.
Fantastic, Thank you for uploading. My Grandmother was close friends with Roy Kinnear, the actor who played the Father of Veruca Salt, as such, the film has always held a special place in my heart. It is really nice to see the Set again. Thank you.
Hi. I am sorry I do not have any pictures of Mr Kinnear or my grandmother together. They dated briefly when my grandmother was young. He wanted my grandma to come with him to London to become an actress, but my grandma decided to stay in her home town. My grandma was into the arts, but she never pursued a professional acting career. Sadly my grandmother is no longer with us, so I can not ask her any questions. It is good to know though. I enjoyed watching the movie as a child at my grandma's knowing that. Thank you
I REMEMBER - being in the theater the FIRST AFTERNOON it was released in 1971! I knew the theater manager, and he let me see it three times that week! ♥♥♥ When the promotional WONKA BARS came on the market, I snatched them up! I am 67 years old and I ALWAYS CRY at the very end when Gene Wilder gives Peter Ostrum the whole factory and they BURST through the ceiling! ♥♥♥♥
I enjoyed this. Thank you for this! You really made it well and I also liked it when you said to us Viewers "The Best Gold is always treasured in your Heart".
Wow it makes me feel defeated in a weird way to see it now. I had hope that it would be preserved and look similar to what it had in the movie. It’s still is really cool though you got to go there. I would be the same way giddy and energetic if I got to experience it. Thank for the content 👍🏼
Great vlog! Paying tribute to the funny man himself, Gene Wilder! I loved watching his movies especially Young Frankenstein! lol RIP Gene Wilder Yes a filming Location!
Thank You Scott! I hope you don't mind if I carry your inspirational words..... The best gold is always treasured in your heart! Good words to live by.
Nice video, a lot has changed at the location spot since 1971. Really, if I had to go looking for it, I'd probably get lost. Areas like this really need attention to detail on what's left at the filmed spot.
Gene Wilder will always be the original and only true Willy Wonka. I saw the same interviews where he said the scripts that were presented to him were just plain vulgar and not funny. He said he didn't want to go away, he just wasn't getting good scripts. Young Frankenstein was another movie he did that can't be matched. I could name so many more. He is getting all the good scripts on the other side now. Thanks for sharing! 😀
Come with me and you'll see that I'm a dorkidilian . Kidding it's hard to see all the workings or filming scenes from this video but I like that we are near the places that made this film such a hit ,it is one of the best films for youth along with the wizard of oz .gene was a genius ,thanks for some funny videography .you should of opened a Wonka bar they sell in malls in america.i do like the original the most .
My sister and I are going to Munich in December. Willy Wonka is my favorite movie. The chocolate factory is the only filming location I want to see. I really want to do that roll but I might be a little too old to try! lol
It's actually Wonka's chocolate factory.. but Mr wonka wanted everyone to thinks it's an electric company so spy's wouldn't steal his secrets to candy..
I’ve always wanted to do something like this but as I’m disabled I can’t get around much I have lots of problems with walking and a spine condition too 👍
Went to see it a few days ago, sadly the beautiful lawn was torn up and there was a lot of rubble nearby. Still it was awesome to see the actual factory.

You have no idea how happy I was to be there.
This is very cool! A great city too! Its funny to see a 35 year old (presumably) act like a 14 year old !! There is a child in all of us for sure.
I think this guy had too many Wonka bars.
Bruce Forrest hahaha
Naaa, we need more lighthearted enthusiasm in the world today.

Ruthy D Gene Wilder’s version is definitely better, but Johnny Depp’s version was much more faithful to the book.

I only had time to find the factory unfortunately.
I love your videos buddy!
Thanks jake!
Congrats. On finding
I thought we're gonna show inside the factory, or what used to be the factory.

Erik Treinen that’s awesome!
Need to learn the lyrics of the song
Where’s this factory located?which country?
Germany.I Think.
It really has changed a lot
dude, this is cool
the gates have changed from the ones in the movie wonder if the film crew added them for the scene?
I just looked for it on Google maps and, unfortunately, it looks like they demolished the whole thing including the clock tower.
Im watching the movei right know and they just got done with that part where he came out greeded all the kids
Awesome!
Where is the Willy Wonka film and location located?
I love that movie it's awesome and it's really good movie
Mickey Ascue this was a crazy place to visit
It seems like they would have some sort of little plaque or something.. I almost like that they don't though.
Kind of insane to think that Gene Wilder himself walked down that very path to the gate…..
Have you ever seen sound of music and where it films at
sadly the iconic location changed again in the last 2 years. You see in this video that they torn down the factory on the other side of the street.. in google street view its still there like seen in the movie.
