@@WhooptieDo been playing the 262 quite a bit recently and as long as you aim center mass its basically a guaranteed kill, unless the enemy is lagging, at which point you might get crits.
This thing was god like in sim when it had the lead indicator sight.

If only one certain county had 20mm that worked like that and didn’t have PRACTICE round in the standard belt
Tbh, with stealth belts they almost work like the 20mms shown here.
With radar coming to the game i would love to see electronic warfare aircraft such as the ea-6b prowler added to the game
Skyknight was made really before reliable ejection seats so it didn't have them. The crew bailed out by grabbing a bar and opening an emergency escape chute in the belly and sliding out into the air Just don't be too low to the ground
I don't remember how it was stock. It didn't stay that way for long
Challenge:
Take the F-4E into a match with the Mighty Mouse Rocket and no missile, set the detonation distance to anything you like except for contact, and try to get at least one kill with the rockets. Good luck!
I was trying it with the F100 and I feel like they're almost worthless.. lol

Great vid showcasing my #1 favorite jet and #2 favorite plane overall in WT, after the F4U-4B. I started flying the F3D when it was 8.0 and aced it when Ho229s still caused heart attacks and before radar was even a thing.
Now, with the 229 nerf and 7.0 br, this jet is an absolute blast. See you in the skies.

That radar is hell for 262's, so strong at early stages. It pays to buddy up with an F3D, definitely.
love it, flew this recently, got it from stock to spaded in abt 8-9 matches, with an average of 3-4 kills per game lol

Ah yes, the Douglas F3D Skyknight, aka Drut, aka Willy the Whale. Love this plane, they were first designed as night fighters for the us navy and Marines. She had three radars, one forward, one aft, and the fire control lead indicating radar. Probably why they nerfed it in game but in the real world it made it lethal in it's intended role. Later on in Vietnam the redesignated F-10 was also used for electronic warfare as the EF-10. This plane was the precursor to the Grumman A-6 Intruder and the EA-6B Growler electronic warfare plane

I bet you the 262s that commit in head-ons with you are the squadron 262s. They are very good in head-ons because of their firepower.
Anybody know why this thing lost its lead indicator? And why is the T-2 the only plane in the game with a lead indicator? Is it just a special kind of radar?

I loved the horten for a long time, but it's current flight model is really difficult to fly. I've had as many as 5v1 in that old flight model and won.... But how it is now... Pfft.
Soo what you reckon is better as a Turnfighter? F3D-1 Skyknight or Canberra B (I) Mk.6 oris the latter still king of being Fat Ballerinas.
Such a good Jet be it a Fighter or Attacker probably be a bit fun if the F3D-2/3 got added when the AIM-7 is implemented.

My favorite jets in wt is the f86f25 and the f2 just spaced them they are a blast I like the f2 better because of the guns

So what CAN a Me 262 do against the F3D and other planes like the F-80 at this BR?? When I first got to jets with the 262s (all of them including the premium) it was a painful experience. You aren't fast enough to run or disengage (if you wanted to), your heavy and slow to accelerate. Even if I kept my speed up, an F-80 would run my shit. Made me not want to play 262s and jets as a whole for that matter 🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️

The Mystere IIC is decently fun right now. I have some good footage from it, but I'm not sure it warrants another video. It was never a bad aircraft. I'll keep it in mind as I'm tempted to do a general video talking about the wonderful world of 8.0 right now.

Yes, definitely. It will be a bit painful stock, but its a very forgiving learning platform

Wrong. F-80s will out-turn this. Also R2Y2s and Mk24 Spits. If it comes to a mixed match.
R2Y2s aren't much of a threat since they dump speed so quickly. I've never come across a Spit24 in it, but spits are just like any other prop vs jet scenario, just stay fast. F80s don't out turn it though, I'll double check it tonight just for sake of arguement but I'm pretty positive on that one.

This is why the 262 is practically unplayable, 50s era American jets swoop in and kill it. I'm not even talking about the p-80(which is still better than the 262 in almost every facet). I'm talking about these clearly superior jets which the 262 never faced or would have faced going against it. This makes the experience of playing an aircraft, which at the time was one of the most advanced, almost unbearable. For God's sake the kikka has better performance, and it's .3 lower in br.
I stopped playing for three years came back i was able to research the plane before it, because I started all that time ago, so I researched this plane thinking I'm about to buy it amd everything. Buuuut they added like four other planes to this line so I have to research and buy all of them😕
I am a lvl48 with 9.0 unlocked. Has anyone noticed that .50cals are useless?... lots of "hits" and not much else for me. I dont claim to be good at the game or anything other than a guy that wants .50's to be "dangerous". Thanks for any replies

I am going to add some historical perspective. By the beginning of WW2 .50s were actually already past their prime. The USAAC came to this conclusion before the US got involved in the war. Before the US got involved in the war the military was already looking for cannons to replace the .50 M2s as the main armament in fighters. It never happened during the war in AAC aircraft because of jamming issues. The USN, on the other hand, made the switch very late in the war anyways. The firepower advantage was too much to pass up. This is why USN aircraft start to get 20mm cannons in late props while AAC and AF aircraft still have .50s up to Korea.
The USAAC, and later USAF, was adamant that no cannon would be accepted into service unless they were US made and reliable enough to meet their standards. To be honest, AN/Ms had serious reliability issues so it wasn't really the USAAC or USAF being stringent. The reliability issues of the AN/Ms, however, were due to the US wanting to find their own solution to early hispano reliability issues rather than adopting the solution that the British came up with during WW2. As a result of this, the USAF fighters had .50 armament all the way into Korea where jet combat showed just how inadequate and obsolete that the guns had become.
The .50s would only do appreciable damage if the engine or pilot were directly hit. That, in jet combat, was a difficult task, to say the least. The USAF could no longer pretend that .50s were still good enough. They finally were forced to accept what they considered cannons with unacceptable jamming issues into service until rotary cannons replaced traditional cannons.
.50 cal guns were weak by the time the jet age came around. By Korea, they were very weak. They should be that way in the game if Gaijin is trying to be vaguely representative of the actual performance capabilities of the guns. I find it... interesting that with ground vehicles Gaijin tries to make a majority of vehicles as close to accurately performing as possible with the guns as close to accurate as possible with armor performing as accurately as possible. Yet in aircraft, they seemingly tweak FMs for balance (random rudder nerfs and handling tweaks that make an airplane "float" at low speeds, P-51s and Re.2005 respectively, for two examples) while having ridiculously unrealistic aircraft gun performance and aircraft DMs.
Americans getting radars at 4.3, missiles at 7.3 and afterburners at 8.3 and the best ammunition through the entire air tree; from 50 cals to the 20mm. Such an overpowered nation with very bad players. I began it and it's IMO the best and easiest.

Unpopular opinion, the me163B-0 is a amazing aircraft, it has amazing energy retention, can outturn any mig or Sabre, is as fast as it’s opponents (besides the swift), can beat anyone in a climb, can 1 shot anything, and even if it runs out of fuel it can keep going for more than a minute at 15% with 10 seconds left and maintaining 300mph.
Finished spading this thing yesterday, and I had so much fun in it. Frequently against Ho 229s, I saw them not turning well, so thanks for pointing out the nerf, as I was wondering how I could get away with turning in front of them.
And this fights 262s ... Balance at its best
But 7.0-10.3 is unbalanced anyway 🤷♂️

I rarely play jets but when I do, this is my favourite. I play it similar to a few high tier props. Side climb, BnZ with a bit of turn fighting. It’s always a joy to play.

My favorite prop is the yak-9T and my favorite Jet is the MiG-15bis

Finally someone that agrees with me, also quick top, rip your gears, you'll get a bit of a faster turn time and get an extra 50 kph minimum in a shallow dive, can't explain why but it works just try it, it's easy to belly land it so you don't even need gears

@@sadfrog5787 Assuming the gear doors don't break and hence don't spoil the aerodynamic outline, then:
No gear > lower weight > lower induced drag > faster sustained turn rate
