1:30 Lol, Gab notices camera's facial recognition on on the doll's face and gets all excited, cause that's so smart and brilliant... and then forgets to pick up the doll and to read about it. That is not a face recognition camera function actually , but some indicator of supernatural presence :)

"There was no clear intention to kill, the sentence was too harsh."
That part was what grinded my gears. After the victim made 3 attempts to escape, and they just kept grabbing him and putting him through all this torture, what part there that shows that the intent was not clear? They didn't stop with just taking the man's car and doing what they said they'll do which is meet girls. They focused on the driver instead and didn't give up 'til he perished. Damn, this reminded me of Inuyashiki, except for how things turned out (which I'll not spoil here). Anyways, thanks for the upload of this game and sharing those facts at the end. It is brutal, but truly informative.

Jizo is a saint. usually a male but modern depiction (particularly in Japan) seems to paint him as female. When children dies they won't go to hell as they're too pure but due to the cycle of sins(karma/action) they won't be allow to enter heaven either and must remains at shore of the River of the Dead until their time has come (ie. when their death from old age be were they still alive). Jizo is a nice person and was allowed to enter heaven but he/she instead decided to stay in that limbo to comfort those lost children and protect them from the harassing hell creatures. The ultimate sacrifice as he/she will probably stay there until the end of times.
You can see the concept of the River of the Dead in many JP games. The infamous one was The Sorrow boss sequence from Metal Gear Solid 3

One studio unit had 444 as the unit number and I noticed that the tenant, or past tenant, pasted a piece of paper with the number 8 written on it before the unit number, so now it’s 8 444 😂 Chinese tradition sees 8 as an auspicious number because it sounds like the word for prosperity. Wow.. the backstory to the tunnel was actually horrible. Why would they even say "hey we're not gonna do anything else" and then continue their assault? I get the fear of being discovered because they obviously knew they were doing something unspeakable, but damn... Awful. Makes me so sick that people would do that to the guy, especially after his obvious will to survive. Ugh, my heart hurts so bad. And then bragging about it? Ugh..
Other than that, the game was very interesting. Atmospheric, but with all the puzzles for the good ending, I think it drags on the suspense too long and you end up losing the fear - something I thought of Stigmatized Property as well. Even still, I still think it was quite good!

I’ve started to learn some basics in Japanese, funnily enough I’ve only been taught yon for 4, and nothings been mentioned about the death number yet. The speckles you were seeing in the camera are “orbs” which are said to be the beginning of a ghost manifestation. The dark past of the tunnel is truly horrendous, but I think you were right to keep that in the video and do it in such a respectful manner.

  • @Vin.i
    @Vin.i 4 роки тому +56

I really liked the atmosphere but I was hoping the facial recognition had been used for something other than finding the jizo statues, it would've been nice if at one point the camera would recognize a face in between the trees, having it disappear soon after, and even a moment where it would go a little crazy all over the screen as if whatever face it sees is appearing and disappearing everywhere. Even so I still loved this, the tension worked really well, I specially loved the jumpscares, the car one got me and just made me question a lot about who the f was in there, and the phone booth one was incredibly scary, the moment the girl asked for help I was like "no, nope, help yourself, good luck!" lol
Learning about the real story behind this just makes it even scarier and it's interesting how the note you find in the game that tells you about what happened tones it down by a lot when in reality the whole ordeal was incredibly brutal. I'm not a believer in life after death or anything like that but in moments like this one I hope that if there is something like that, that man is in a good place and at peace.

Also, since you were concerned about the chapped lips, some suggestions from a fellow sufferer:
-Make sure the air in your bedroom, especially, is not too dry. You can buy single-room humidifiers for about $40 CDN at just about any bed + bath store. They're easy to use, clean, and store. Most people's chapped lip problems (outside of cold winter air) will be from breathing through the mouth when sleeping.
-Stick to vaseline or vaseline-based lip balm, and *definitely* avoid anything that uses artificial wax.
-To get rid of dry, peeling skin, use sugar scrub. You can buy some at Bath & Body Works and similar stores, or you can makes some at home using honey, sugar, and usually skin-treatment oil (or really anything with Vitamin E that will keep the right texture to the scrub). It scrubs the dead skin away without damaging the new skin underneath and makes it feel softer and refreshed.
    I hope that helps!

11:37 yes that is correct but there is more to it actually. so you know how they (or we) take off our shoes when we are ready to enter or when we are entering a house or other certain places? them taking their shoes off before committing it is a way of telling their loved ones that they committed it so they arent missing and saying that they are ready to enter the after life.

The story behind Inunaki Tunnel sounds like it could be a Ju-On sequel. I'm not surprised that it's considered one of the most haunted places in Japan. What a terrible way to go.

    Two things:
One, I was born on the 4th of April so I feel like I'm a walking curse now.
And two, this game was really creepy and fun, but then we read the story behind it and now it's all awful and I feel so bad for that poor man.

Oh....行書体(gyousyotai) at 15:22. That's traditional shorthand, hard to make out even for us. Older people are used to it though. I'll type what I can make out of it. 「最初に埋められたヤツは数時間後に溺れた。最後のヤツは焼かれて数分後死亡。」Funny thing is I saw a Japanese version playthrough but the subtitles don't correspond exactly either. A tidbit of fun information. Love your videos!!

Inunaki tunnel is a tunnel is a tunnel in Inunaki prefecture (currently blocked with bricks) that is connected to a abandoned village( some people say that there are still people living there) that is no where to be seen on the map. In that village no Japanese law is applied and a lot of people were brought there to kill somebody... I lived closer to Inunaki so I’m probably cursed or smth

ohhh my god, I remember that Ikenie no Yoru tunnel scare SOOOOOOOOOOOOO WELL. you're so right, I don't think I've ever seen you have the shit scared out of you so bad before or since. it was like blind terror, lmao. fucking amazing. I loved watching that game, and I would love a replay.
also: wooooooooooooooooooooooooooow that murder. that's fucking intense. and by *minors* (at the time). thank god the ringleader got a life sentence. I hope he never gets parole. glad the asshole was so young tbh... he gets like 60 yrs to rot away in there.

Things based on or referencing true stories always give this feeling of life or reality to it. I don't want to say it made it better because of course what happened to that young man was absolutely awful, but you can't say that it doesn't change the game when you replay it or if you knew the story before playing the game.

For the end story, here’s a less morbid (still pretty dark) version of what happened: some dumb teens wanted to take a car, so they tried to kill the owner of the car. After they hurt the man a lot, they realized that he’d tell the police, so “they had to kill him”, since they didn’t want to get caught, they burned the body, so there wasn’t evidence. Later someone overheard them bragging about what they just did, so the police were called, and they were arrested.

Thanks for the warning, I felt bad for the guy but cruelty is everywhere, everyday... I am not saying it's not sad, just that I've seen way too much to be surprised anymore. Too bad he believed their lies, I'm sure he could have survived if he didn't surrender in the end. It might sound stupid but after all he went through, I was still hoping he'd make it and his pursuers would just end up fighting between themselves and killing each other but life is not a video game (sadly) and there's no alternative ending to this one. Like you Gab, I adore ghosts stories and urban legends, I just hope these guys will pay badly for their actions in this life or the next (if there's something else). This was still entertaining to watch and you followed the best ending path, good work.
