Many of the weapons in Bf1 were merely prototypes and rare findings irl, but it is true that the time surrounding ww1 marked like an explosion of inventions in terms of military equipment to be either tested, adapted and improved or to be newly created. A fact which the devs emphasized back when this game came out. The game could have been expanded on a bit more in theatres imo though, they could have shown war in africa such as in German East Africa (Tanzania etc) and the rat race for Baku in Azerbaijan. They could have also implemented very nostalgic campaigns like in Verdun and the Austro-Hungarian lands of Galicia. That is speaking in terms of theatres only - the sheer amount of content ww1 offers for media is insane.
Indeed !!! I recall with (almost) tear the old times into which I played "Red Baron II" on my first PC !!! That one is the best game of war ever made for me... And it verted around the WW I and the planes (and aces) that fought in that war... I also like the fact that during the game you could be "hired" by famous air wings such as that of the Red Baron himself !!! I recall a match into which I had to escort a pair of Gotha bombers along with Goering... Yes... Hermann Goering, the nazi one, before being a nazi he was a WW I pilot ace and flew into the Red Baron air wing... Commanding it too in the end of the war... Then... Turning back to what I was saying... I recall that mission into which me and Goering and other two or three planes had to escort those bombers... All seemed to go well but suddenly a storm of allied planes appeared on the horizon. And guess what ?!? Those planes where the french and british aces !!! Amongst them I recall the plane of Roland Garros... Or Rickenbacker... I do not recall it so well... But I recall that that plane was one of an allied famous ace !!! And it fought also so well like an ace is expected to do... Even if the game is a videogame from the 90s, with all its "pixelled" graphic (the planes where 3D but all the enemies on the ground and plants or similar stuff where in 2D only) the sense of being really in the air during the WW I was astonishing... Also the fire and the wind where reproduced very well... And so the physics of the flight: if you won't take care of it, the lack of thrust can bring your plane down in a moment... And so does the attriction cause by the wind and the gravity force... Both of them caused my plane to break up into smithereens while I played the cool game I mentioned above... If the wooden planes of WWI were forced behyond their structural limits in fact, they used to break apart into pieces !!! And this issue is correctly reproduced inside Red Baron II, along with the so called "rotative engines" used by many planes of the period... Those engines caused the planes to stall so often that, at least during certain parts of the conflict, the aviators who died due to engine problems or lack of skill in managing such engines, where an higher number than the one related to deaths caused by the enemy planes !!!

man this single player game was great. As someone who played the hell out of BF 1942 and B2, the single player campaign was surprisingly fun and well polished. Almost makes me wish they spent even more time with it and made it twice as long, but I can't complain since it ended up being above and beyond anything I was expecting.
Everyone bitching in the comments about the lenght... Yeah... 4 hours... thats about twice or maybe even thrice less than single player campaigns in fps games 5 years ago. BUT those games needed also thrice less work Do you even know what does it take to make a game like this nowdays?
DO YOU KNOW THAT? games WAS made by gamers ... nowadays it's an fucking INDUSTRY: put out some fucking maps and let the guys play multiplayer shit -every day again and again and again the same fucking maps. lock at this fucking game: 4 hours. Reduce this because of the film scenes and the fucking annoying tank-mission at the beginning. 45 minutes films, tank-driving, film and film and film and loading and a film again and sometimes you can shoot with old-school guns from 1918. do YOU have any idea bout the optimizations of the instruments needed to create such games? you can create something looking much better than in the past in LESS time
Eh no. If we're talking about FPS games, lots of FPS games from the PS3 era already had 10-12 hours of gameplay. It's no excuse. You don't know what you're talking about.
The game needs better tech than years ago, but here's a couple of factors that hint towards the campaign being too short: The devs at the time of creating the game were a company worth hundreds of millions if not some billions already, the game was by far and away the best selling Bf1 ever with between 2 and 3 times as many sales as the last game so the devs were well financed post-release, a lot of the content is produced using procedural generating and pre-existing dev tools in an engine they created years before this game, the dev team has expanded a lot between old Bf franchise titles and the development of this title, ...
I think this is the best WW1 FPS game ever made. There aren't many WW1 FPS games out there. 3:37:34 I enjoyed Nothing is Written more than any others because I find Middle Eastern history fascinating. Unfortunately, Nothing is Written is quite a short story.

I got an American military ad when I clicked on this video.
Which is funny, because THIS game is about a war.
Everyone bitching in the comments about the lenght...
Yeah... 4 hours... thats about twice or maybe even thrice less than single player campaigns in fps games 5 years ago.
BUT those games needed also thrice less work
Do you even know what does it take to make a game like this nowdays?
exactly
Péter Kotschy agree
The perfect video game channel may God bless you brother
The poor german was just sleepy, he didnt want to die :(
Blackburn story is so- I don't have words!
This Game Give me sad Memory to All Hero at WW1 sacrifice his live for His Country
1likes : 1 Pray to Battlefield hero
I think this is the best WW1 FPS game ever made. There aren't many WW1 FPS games out there. 3:37:34 I enjoyed Nothing is Written more than any others because I find Middle Eastern history fascinating. Unfortunately, Nothing is Written is quite a short story.
Getting all of the spark plugs is a lot easier with that silenced rifle. I never found that and that mission took me over an hour as a result.
It was perfect, everything, down to the last-minute details!
12:34 Best scene for me
Is anyone watching this in 2020 and battlefield 3 is the BEST
Oh yeh, Italy was on the Allies in WW1
That one Gamer which switches side always 😭😂
Yeee in ww2 on axis
I love your gameplays, especially because you play the way someone normal would do it, thought you are a better player than I am. I hate those videos that all the gameplay is a speed run and a tittle " No Damage". Keep it going!
Wow what an absolutely beautiful game
Battlefield 1 is such an masterpiece video game and great job on the good gameplay man :)
5:26 imagine dying at such a young age.... just because of war💔😭
Wilson: Don’t bloody look down
MK: No, *Looks down*
Better an epic and badass campaign than a long and terrible one.
Hey Da Was Great my man 🤤❤️🍕
I expected huge trench fights and going over. got the opposite of that
Rectal Blowout same.
Same
It's amazing to see a world war 1 game and I love what dice did

America- I'm gonna hold back for a bit
Britan- Get out the Crumpets and Tea cause this is to be a good show mate!
= The Great War
Finch is gone! :(
damn, the last Bishop scene got me emotional. his sacrifice is too great for the young lads who will carry on his will.
Who agrees the plane one was the best??
I do especially when blackburn breaks the 4th wall at the end of his story
Both the plane and the tank mission are awesome
tips to play longer: toggle the difficulty to "hard" and it'll be twice/thrice longer depending on your skills
T.E Lawrence I love him a great British person I ever seen in history.
nice story
