      unless he put it in a syringe and injected someone it’s useless as far as harming someone. Venom has to be injected and/or enter the bloodstream somehow, to cause harm. If he fed it to someone it wouldn’t do anything.

      I respect your profession and your desire to be the best you can be (sounds cliche and corny but I’m being genuine). I fancy myself an interrogation junkie and one key characteristic is the interrogators ability to look like they are genuinely “listening to understand” when the suspects talking, as opposed to listening bc they want to catch the suspect in a lie (and therefore just going through the motions of what amounts to an intense Q&A session).
      It sounds obvious but its often very subtle , and the best ones I’ve seen are the ones who don’t just come off personable but come off as actually interested in what the suspect has to say. Sometimes it’s body language, sometimes tone of voice or word choice, but there’s always some way to tell when an interrogator has connected with the suspect enough to get a confession. I don’t mean to imply this is some novel concept as I’m sure many have noticed it, it just always jumps out at me when I see an effective interrogation.

    It’s bothersome that they just diagnosed him with schizophrenia. His actions and behaviors are not schizophrenia. He is a sociopath/antisocial personality disorder type… Obviously there could be other diagnoses mixed in. Sidenote: I have met people who have had ECT before it is affective in some and obviously not in others. It’s pretty hit or miss. The side effect that I’ve heard is the most common is short term memory loss

    • @Ghost80
      @Ghost80 2 роки тому +3

      I think back then, nobody was willing to call a child a sociopath and antisocial disorders were not known/understood. Schizophrenia was an easy label to stick to people. Their was probably also some laziness on the doctors part to really figure it out. Label them, fry the brains and send them home was the answer back then. I agree that ECT does work for some. I would love to have it. Not for mental health problems exactly. I think it would help a disability I have, or at least, I would love to try. Unfortunately it’s not allowed in England anymore.

      Schizophrenia isn’t mutually exclusive with personality disorders. We don’t know all of the reasons he was diagnosed with that. These histories tend to be fairly abbreviated, as it’s a short form show.

      In psychiatry it is fairly standard that no child under 12 is diagnosed with schizophrenia so I find this part of the narrative questionable. I worked as a data manager at Bellevue in about 1981 in autism unit - this was the diagnosis of "pre schizo".

      My ex wife's father born in wall twsp Monmouth county nj in 1941 was a victim of that EST. Lol, but said it set him straight...he said it actually helped him. His best friend 40 yrs later in the late 80s AL TAMO I believe his name was called seaside heights police to admit to a murder he commited in the 60s in brick twsp. I remember beganwald like it was yesterday. The stories. My dad was a dog handler in the Vietnam War 1967-68, my date of birth the former, but married my mom anyways and adopted me after coming home from war and seeing what mom had been up to in San Diego while enlisted in the navy. I remember the beganwald Crayola cause my dad was a cop in brick twsp who was almost killed when a Mexican put a 9 inch bayonet to his throat in 86' then stole his 357 magnum and police cruiser before committing 3 murders and suicide at de rose furniture in lake riverbanks off hooper Ave. Born in Edison at jfk and growing up in brick/Tom's river/lakewood area in ocean county...wow the stories I could tell. I'm only 56 and my Das is still alive.😮
