  • Season 05 : Episode 10 :
    Angel Reséndiz had an uncontrollable desire to kill. He started his life with a pretty low moral compass and spent most of it stealing to make a living, but soon, instead of just robbing people, he felt like he needed to kill them and he couldn’t stop himself.

    I was a young newlywed in Texas when Reséndiz was working his way through the area. Our backyard was about 200 yards from a wooded area with a creek and the train tracks. I remember actually booby trapping the back door Home Alone-style once when my husband was out of town for work because I was nervous about going to sleep. Only time I have ever been scared in my house.

      This channel is a perfect reminder that monsters do, in fact, exist and walk among us. They are technically human beings, but in their minds and hearts, they barely qualify for the title of "human" at all. Always stay vigilant, because you never know when you might encounter one, as they rarely look like monsters on the outside. The subject of this video, for example, looks almost identical to my father In-law, who couldn't be a kinder or more loving man.

    Thank you for bringing closure to my childhood TV trauma. This case was covered on either America's Most Wanted or Unsolved Mysteries (don't remember which) back in the late 90's. I was like 11-12 and watched the episode and it ended with the host saying something to the effect of "so if you live anywhere within earshot of train tracks make sure the you lock all your doors and windows" I had lived in that house for a couple years but that was the 1st night I ever noticed the fact that I could hear the train horn from the tracks a couple miles away. Scared the absolute shit out of me. I couldn't sleep for days and had terrible nightmares for months. I eventually forgot about it but even into my 20s I would get freaked out any time I heard a train horn while I was in bed at night.
    Never knew that the case was solved until just now.

    This sounds insanely similar to the Man from the Train theory by Bill and Rachel James. Guy rides the rails, chooses a home, kills the occupants with a hatchet taken from the home, 'inappropriately' assaults one member of the family, covers the victims with a blanket or something similar, and then hops back on a train. Only difference is that 'the man from the train' operated in the 1800s (if you believe the theory) - it's a great book, if anyone is looking for something new

    I'll never forget when I was younger working at HEB here in San Antonio seeing this guy outside the store. This was a developing case at the time and I remember people were a bit on edge because of the murders and how he was train hopping.
    When I was getting off work that night, we had several sapd officers at our store because of an apparent theft. As I was leaving the store, around 1030, a man who looked like this guy, asked me "Why are all these cops here?" I didn't think much of it, at the time, but when I got home, a news segment was airing and I literally jumped out of bed telling my girlfriend at the time, I just saw that guy at heb. I called the police and let them know I saw him and they took a report.
    Talk about being so close to a serial killer. I always wondered what would or could have happened if the police were not at the store that day.

      Oh but one of his murders was pinned on an innocent couple before he confessed.
      My favorite saying or quote about death penalty is that its too cruel for innocent and too easy for the guilty.
      The latter if kept alive having at least the theoretical possibility to be tormented by their deeds and regret - in the future if not now - instead of the easy way out.

    I am Texan, I hope you weren't being judgemental of our laws. I'm not arguing the right or wrong of the death penalty, just that it's our law, so if you don't want die in TX by lethal injection don't murder people here with the added offenses that qualify your crime. It's pretty simple actually!! I'm not saying we aren't a different breed, we are!! If you are here and need help you will probably get all you need, come here for some BS, well....

      @theOGgarf I agree, have watched for years. We do get kind of a bad wrap over that sometimes, and as you saw I have no desire to try to change anyone's beliefs. Most Texans are really great people, I don't know about the whole state, but where I am the people are good hearted.. I guess somewhere along the way we decided 0 tolerance for people who kill, and rob, kill and rape, and so on. To get death you have to have another atrocity added to murder. Have a great night, and thank you for replying

    • @Merjacevi

      On a philosophical level I agree that rapists, serial killers, etc deserve to die, however I oppose the death penalty because of the inherent risk that the state will make a mistake, or voluntarily frame someone who is innocent, and get them killed. The risk is too big, in my opinion.

    • @tinahall9591
      @tinahall9591 2 роки тому

      @Merjacevi I completely understand, and in my own Texan way agree.
