Just for reference, by the way, I wanted to go to Savannah College of Art and Design as well. The tuition was insanely expensive and, across the board, it is the greatest art and design school in the entire USA. I toured the school and both myself and all my family members agreed it was the most incredible school we had ever been to. Her turning it down to take care of her sick mother says a LOT about her character. What an amazingly talented, caring girl.

@@janemf - Typically in videos like this the details in the audio track are difficult to make out due to microphone placement. In general, I've observed the microphone is set up so that it fails in its main purpose. These mics usually catch sound reflections from the walls and ceiling better than what it catches from the original sound source, meaning, the perp. In this video the mic is better trained on the subject's voice directly. That's all. It was a relief - for me - not to struggle to make out the words because of sound reflections due to poor mic placement.

Except it isn't just a moment. It takes an average of 2-3 minutes of continuous pressure to the neck to kill someone by manual strangulation. Even the minimum of 2 minutes is 120 seconds. Just sit and count to 120 and you'll realise just how long that actually is. PLENTY of time to reconsider what you're doing and to stop. This piece of shit knew exactly what he was doing to Savannah. It’s hard dedicated work for everyone involved. Schools where you have to maintain above average grades. Schools for bright artistic minds. There’s no way her upbringing could be that bad if she were attending these schools and she decided to put her dreams on hold to stay in J-ville of all places to get through family crisis. The community was outraged he said those things. There are two sides to every story. Savannah was not here to tell her side. He took that away from her.

I’m from Florida, and the Stand Your Ground law is outrageous. It needs to be repealed. I’m not saying people shouldn’t be allowed to defend themselves, just to be clear, but the way that Stand Your Ground is written is insane. So many reckless homicides and straight up, cold-blooded _murders_ have been defended by it; the most violent people in society are the only ones who benefit from it. Not the average citizen.
I’m not exaggerating when I say that there have been murders committed which likely would not have been committed purely because the perpetrator thought they could claim a Stand Your Ground, and _then did so successfully in court._ It’s beyond f*ed up.
