After extensive research and close following of the Detroit Car Show in late 2019, I purchased the first Kia Telluride SXP right off the dealer delivery truck in Seattle in early 2020. It has surpassed every performance and comfort expectation, and the Dark Moss exterior and blacked out 20" rims make it a head-turner. I've since moved back to Texas, where I grew up, and I continue to get inquiries about this car almost every day.

Great review! No Zonks! I just bought one of these on Halloween. Black SX AWD. I agree about the Nightfall edition. In any other color it looks nice but in black it doesn’t look as luxurious. I traded in a 2019 Volvo XC60. Loved the Volvo but I needed more space. Never thought I would buy a KIA but after seeing this Review and a few others, I decided to go for a test drive and damn! Dealerships are trying to hit their goals and get aggressive on pricing. Bang for your buck, the Telluride is a heck of a deal and looks great. I have gotten a few haters ask why I downgraded but once they take a closer look, they turn the hate way down. It’s a great looking suv, drives very well, has a great infotainment system and I still don’t believe how much room there is inside. My wife and I are a “no minivan ever” with two kids couple. Minivans are super practical but I still need to like how my everyday driver looks. This gives me a ton of space and more. If you are thinking about it, get it. I did test drive a Palisade as well. It was great as well but I preferred the Telluride look more. The Top Trim fully loaded was 51K. I don’t remember a mark up on those so obviously not selling as well.
This was a great review. This is a beautiful car that I was considering vs the Hyundai Palisade Limited. They are both very close in comparisons and features. but I went ahead and purchased the 2021 Hyundai Palisade. It was just more roomy, more features, and warranty was unbeatable. All in all, both great cars, so it was tough to choose. Good luck!
Love the review and your reviews in general. quick question. It seems like in every review you do you skip over all the controls that are on the left side of the steering wheel. Do you do that on purpose or is it just an oversight?

Great review as always. I test drove the night fall edition on memorial day, loved it, but the dealer mark-up in my area was $8k. Couldn't convince myself enough to pay almost 60k for it..so I ended up buying a 21 hyundai palisade calligraphy, and I love it.
Omg thank you Joe I'm so happy now that I bought my palisade this year since bought palisade and telluride are increasing their prices across the board. Got a palisade limited awd (htrac) with a couple of extras including the tow package for $48,000.
Great review! And I can confirm the Kia Telluride SX Prestige is everything Raiti said it is. We bought one exactly like the one in the video at sticker price last week and it is awesome!
While 49K is still a good price for this, it's kind of a big jump from the 47K it was before. I could see if it were refreshed a little. Anyway, it's a shame we don't get this in Korea. This is the best in segment. Period. Love it!
@@deborahwalters6580 Yes, right. The Palisade is made about 90 minutes from my house. And we also get the largish Kia Mohave. So I guess they felt it wasn't worth importing the Telluride to Korea.

Listing of the best luxury brands (vehicle from some brands) for me 2020-2021,in terms of reliability, styling, technology, practicality, depreciation/resale value and cheapish maintenance in an orderly fashion would be: -lexus -kia -genesis -acura -cadillac -infiniti -GMC -bmw
Why it got bought instead of the Palisade, which will be anachronistic in a couple years, vs the Telly's iconic stance, ready to defy the test of time.
I just bought a white telluride EX premium package, it was a demo w/1700 miles. I got it for 40,500 and I am loving it! My family likes it much better than the 2020 Mercedes GLC we traded for it.
Joe, the mrs and I just put a deposit on one yesterday. Best bang for your buck vehicle on the market right now. Has all the bells and whistles at an actual affordable price for consumers. Also has best interiors and usable spaces on the market.
@@RaitisRides had to factory order it because like you said they are super hard to find. For the 2020 model they were only suppose to make 60,000 but because it sold so well they upped it to 100k. I live on the west side of Canada and no dealership has these on lots. Once they get them on lots they are either pre sold or just sell so quick. Also the rear view homelink mirror is auto dimming up here in Canada and I would assume the states would be the same.
Jokes on point! You are hilarious. All the food scenarios got me. "Taste the rainbow, then chew on the rainbow, then swallow the rainbow!" Hahaha Great energy, great detail, perfect review. Thank you. Keep saying "zonk" too. Lmao
Your comments about things you can put in the spaces are priceless. “You can easily get a couple egg rolls, just drop them in there and take them to work.” 😂🤣
Ours have over 18K miles after a little over a year, apart from oil changes, washes and filling up the tank, no additional cost to own one. Handles very well , technology and noise level besting the big Range Rover, M-B, BMW, Audi. Oh, for more than half the price! We owned all the mentioned brands before the Telluride. Not a chance going back to them. All in on the Telluride SX Prestige pkg.
I got the LX trim last Labor day, V6 AWD, boy I love this thing eventhough some stuffs are missing which is not a big deal for me. First, I wanted a bench seats for my 3 kids and tons of safety features came with it which is not available on base trim in other brands. I don't want the sunroof nor the heated/cooling seats bcoz it will become a problem in the long run. I got almost all of the safety features including the rear view camera and sensors for parking and blind spot monitoring, lane assists/departure , remote start with a keyfob and smartphone thru UVO link/KIA access, vehicle locator and information like milage, maintenance sked, appointments or recalls and many more. So, I am very happy with my LX trim, fits well in my budget...SX costs 49T, it's just the selling price but add all the GAP insurance, warranties, taxes etc it will hit 53T plus the financing amount/interest...65T will be the final price and you will end up paying $800-900 per month not unless you have a perfect credit score.Besides this is my 3rd KIA vehicle, a Sedona (157,000 miles) and a new Soluto/Rio so I trust this brand from experience without being broke.
You did a really great job going over the vehicle!! However, the auto center lock for AWD only work at speeds 25 mph or less though. Hardly a concern since it automatically sends power to the rear wheels as needed, especially in "snow" mode. I used snow mode the other week in a very bad thunder storm in South Carolina and it really made a noticeable difference and prevented any hydro planning. I have a 2021 Telluride EX AWD with prestige package (best for my budget) and I'm overly impressed with the SUV in all categories! Also you were spot on, the center storage area for smart phone takes a little more push down to open then you think and takes a little getting used to but I quickly adjusted in a day or two of driving to work. Also there is a little left side storage on the passenger side of the center console just below the grab handle for some more small items or magazines. Again, GREAT JOB!!
howzit (“howzit” meaning “how is it going” incase you wondering what i just said LoL). Little bit local talk for you straight from the island of Oahu, Hawaii. anyways, my sister lives in new york and she told me about this Kia Telluride so i looked it up and came across both of your 2021 Kia Telluride videos and I just stuck to this vehicle. i have a 2017 nissan sentra and i was good with it. no tech in it nothing but it got me from point A to point B so i was good but yeah when you explained all the details of this vehicle i was 100% sold! i can’t afford one right now tho LoL but i am sticking to my sentra until i can get me a 2021 Kia Telluride SX trim. now my new dream car LoL. Anyways yeah man thank you for the videos and keep it up. your vehicle walk arounds are very informative. alright i know i talking too much now hahaa Thank’s again bro for the videos. Aloha!!
I like plastic backs, they knew kids was gonna get foot loose on them. I have back seat covers because even when they are being good, snow and salt is still going on the back.
Joe I love your each and every video .. but this time I have a question for u .. am thinking to get 3 row SUV .. Honda Pilot . Toyota Highlander . Hyundai palisades and Hyundai Telluride .. am so confused which one do u think I should get .. please be honest.. you cal it am 100% down ..
Again I know joe, you must be very busy am so sorry to bother you .. why did u choose specific 100% on Telluride comparing to other SUV.. why not pilot highlander or palisade.. can u explain short and simple .. why so special on Telluride.. just curious ??? I really appreciate your time and thank u so much ..
I love both the Telluride and the palisade but I don’t need a third row. But I like all the interior and riding up high. I am currently looking to replace a 2006 Honda pilot which is still functioning beautifully at 176,000 miles. But I insist upon sitting up high. Need at least 8 inches of clearance. What are your best recommendations for 2021?
I actually just took a peek at that Sorrento and will definitely be looking for your review. However, I’m looking for a five passenger with a bench seat in the second row. I don’t want captains chairs. But I certainly do love the look of that 10 inch infotainment console!
Telluride SX Prestige, now you’re talking Joe! The main “zonk” I have with my Cadenza SXL and Kia in general, is the use of that black shiny plastic they use in the high touch interior areas. I’m very picky about keeping the car “like new” but that plastic is a magnet for dust, streaks easily and does scratch. One idiot at a full-service car wash is all it takes let me tell ya. For the center console area, brushed aluminum (like in the Stinger or even the 2016 Optima SXL) would be a better choice IMO. Overall, this company and this vehicle are hitting it out of the park. Great video👍
Your reviews are always on point. But I will have to disagree about the nightfall package, it looks sic!!! I currently have one on order here in California. Glacial white pearl/ Black Nappa Leather seat trim , SX nightfall edition, SX prestige package, Towing package. Also got every option offered except= wheel locks, mud guard kit, cross bars. This build originally started in December 2019, got cancelled because of covid-19 for the 2020 model. New build submitted for the 2021 model August 2020 with a completed due date of November 2020. I was glad I'm getting the 2021 model instead of the 2020 model. Because of the added remote start on the key fob to the nightfall addition package on the 2021 model all nice additions. The only thing is I prefer the 2020 style wheels to the nightfall edition style wheels for the 2021 edition. Cant wait to pick this baby up!!!!!
Joe, I really feel like this video is a clear example of why this vehicle is called the "Selluride". I mean wow, for the money... how can you beat this? BTW this color combo and trim is REALLY working for me. It's really nice.

All in all, both great cars, so it was tough to choose. Good luck!
Thanks Andres for the compliment and letting me share it with you! Congrats on your new Palisade.
Hahaha love the Skittles part. Taste the rainbow, chew the rainbow, swallow the rainbow 🤣. 👍🏻 Love all the vids bro.
This makes me wants to trade my car to this. I'll wait when they come out with a hybrid version of this so gas $$$ won't be a killer.
Love the review and your reviews in general. quick question. It seems like in every review you do you skip over all the controls that are on the left side of the steering wheel. Do you do that on purpose or is it just an oversight?
I now know why its called the selluride!
Heck yeah!
Wtf is Kia doing?! Their new lineup is 🔥
You are so very right about that!
Hey Hyundai is doing the same thing
Love this SUV, one of my favs! Nice review as always Joe!
Joe - you da man!!!! Great job once again!
Thanks Axel! I really appreciate that!
“Especially if you have kids in the back and you’ve got some kind of creeper looking in the windows” 😂😂 @13:13
Might be the upgrade for my 2013 ford edge! Love your videos Joe!
Thanks Charlie! I really appreciate that!
One engine only! 3.8L V-6 291HP engine tows 5000lbs! Really! Imagine going camping with a family of 6. loaded down with luggage and pulling a camper 3rd wheel. Again, imagine getting in the passing lane and trying to pass a vehicle! LMAO! That engine will be crying like a little baby with going no where quick! LMAO! Men, stop getting these pretty girlie type SUV's! Stop letting mama talking you into getting these SUV's that don't have any ballz! Real men get a Dodge Durango! The Dodge Duranga has 4 engine options: V-6 under 300HP and fuel effecient, Durango RT, V-8 5.7L 360 HP 7400lbs towing, Durango SRT V-8 6.4L 485HP 8900lbs towing, and last but not least the Durango Hellcat, 6.2L 717HP. Dodge knows how to do it right with the engine options for the REAL men not those girlie guys that mama castrated and took his Man's card away! LMAO
Great review as always. I test drove the night fall edition on memorial day, loved it, but the dealer mark-up in my area was $8k. Couldn't convince myself enough to pay almost 60k for it..so I ended up buying a 21 hyundai palisade calligraphy, and I love it.
It's nuts! Congrats on the Calligraphy!
Ugo Emmanuel I saw Joe’s review for the Palisade and I’m really torn between the two.
I think the Palisades is the better looking of the cousins.
@@vincentjoyce5100I think you won't regret whichever one you go for. We like the palisade better because it had more tech than telluride.
@@garys2157 maybe the interior, yes it is. But I prefer the rugged exterior of the telluride better.
Wonderful review with humor...awesome !
While 49K is still a good price for this, it's kind of a big jump from the 47K it was before. I could see if it were refreshed a little. Anyway, it's a shame we don't get this in Korea. This is the best in segment. Period. Love it!
AGREED!
SX+prestige package is still 47.5K which was fully loaded in 2020 MY. 49k is with sx nightfall edition.
Man u r missing out but at least u have the palisade calligraphy with an option of a video package which u can't get in America at all.
@@deborahwalters6580 Yes, right. The Palisade is made about 90 minutes from my house. And we also get the largish Kia Mohave. So I guess they felt it wasn't worth importing the Telluride to Korea.
USB ports on the side of the seats & 3rd row?! whoever thought of that needs a raise!! meanwhile toyota struggling to put them in the back of the center console for passengers
You better believe it!
Nice touch with the historical reference to Telluride, CO -- thanks!
You are so very welcome. Thank you fore letting me share it with you!
Great review and pitch sir, very thorough and informative. If I was in the market I'd be sold. My old man's Palisade is pretty sweet though.
Gotta do the SX Nightfall edition review 🤩 just ordered mines today.
Listing of the best luxury brands (vehicle from some brands) for me 2020-2021,in terms of reliability, styling, technology, practicality, depreciation/resale value and cheapish maintenance in an orderly fashion would be:
-lexus
-kia
-genesis
-acura
-cadillac
-infiniti
-GMC
-bmw
Thanks for sharing that!
This will age with class 😎
I totally believe it Emiilio!
Why it got bought instead of the Palisade, which will be anachronistic in a couple years, vs the Telly's iconic stance, ready to defy the test of time.
We love our 2020 flagship model. Kia is on the money w their whole line!!
I just bought a white telluride EX premium package, it was a demo w/1700 miles. I got it for 40,500 and I am loving it! My family likes it much better than the 2020 Mercedes GLC we traded for it.
Just bought one in FEB, SX prestige. It will give any German High end SUV a run for the money. KIA rocked out the competition!
Joe, the mrs and I just put a deposit on one yesterday. Best bang for your buck vehicle on the market right now. Has all the bells and whistles at an actual affordable price for consumers. Also has best interiors and usable spaces on the market.
Congrats Nabil! You are so very right!
“You can easily get a couple egg rolls, just drop them in there and take them to work.” 😂🤣
The “oh crap handles” 😂
I am glad that I can share some laughs with you!
Raiti's Rides always
“... so you can tell at the kids in the back if they make you wanna drive off a cliff!” That had me rolling 😂🤣
will you test drive with full review the Kia 2022 Telluride . I like the way you give your presentations. Thank you.
He said a cup for eggrolls!! My ancestors approve!
LOL! Thanks Kyle!
great review, detailed and entertaining !!
I can’t wait until you review the 2021 Kia Sorento once it arrives!!!
Got Mine Fully loaded 2021..Took weeks to get but worth the wait..Telluride=Killer-Ride..
I'm loving that Nightfall Edition
Congrats! The Telluride is awesome at all trim levels!
You have good space with the three kids in the telluride?
@@pmpandy4911 yes, the reason I bought the base trim LX. They can all sit in the bench seat 2nd row and our luggages go to the 3rd and back.
Best car reviewer of all time 👍
You did a really great job going over the vehicle!!
Great job Joe,most bang for the buck suv!!!
You are so very right!
Great review very helpful
Great review, as usual 👍
My mom just ordered this car, just with the dark green. Looking forward for when it comes
howzit (“howzit” meaning “how is it going” incase you wondering what i just said LoL). Aloha!!
Best review ever and is it me it reminds me of the rolls Royce cullinan
I can totally see that! Thanks for being so supportive!
Same
Just got mine yesterday. Absolutely love it.
To be 100% honest I would go Telluride all day!
Thank u so much
Again I know joe, you must be very busy am so sorry to bother you .. why did u choose specific 100% on Telluride comparing to other SUV.. why not pilot highlander or palisade.. can u explain short and simple .. why so special on Telluride.. just curious ??? I really appreciate your time and thank u so much ..
Love the Telluride. Egg rolls in the tray? Getting fancy now!
LOL! Thanks for letting me share it all with you!
Thank you so much for letting me share it with you! Check out the new Sorento hitting the channel at 5pm EST.
I actually just took a peek at that Sorrento and will definitely be looking for your review. However, I’m looking for a five passenger with a bench seat in the second row. I don’t want captains chairs. But I certainly do love the look of that 10 inch infotainment console!
Love how the SUV is all BLACKED OUT!!! 😍🔥
I am so glad that you are liking this one Tom!
@@RaitisRides Indeed I do! But I do prefer the Palisade though. ;)
Nice review keep it up!
It's all good man! I am really looking forward to reviewing one soon. Congrats on yours!
Joe, I really feel like this video is a clear example of why this vehicle is called the "Selluride". I mean wow, for the money... how can you beat this? BTW this color combo and trim is REALLY working for me. It's really nice.
