Thoughts
Decided to do some more 1.6 SSG runs for fun. While I wanted to slow down with attempts, just one hour into runs I suddenly get this run, which happens to be the first sub 7 real time completion of SSG 1.6. In this run, I do a silly strat making a gold shovel instead of a stone shovel. Not only do I get less snowballs with this strat but I get less chances at flint as well. Despite that, I got the flint, had a clean nether, and entered the end at 4:35 being 1 second faster than my previous 6:58 PB. However, I had less snowballs than usual to hit the crystals due to the gold shovel. Due to this, I was forced to have to rely on frequent dragon charges and hope the crystals I didn't hit were far enough away. And for some reason, that worked, and it really shouldn't have, but RNG was in my favor this time. That ending (6:54) was also the craziest way for this run to finish.
The 4:35 enter end was good being only 1 second off my gold, but my gold split is definitely not optimized. Regardless, it saved 1 second over my 6:58. The end fight was the bulk of my time save, as it was a 2:19 shaving around 3 seconds off my 6:58. This was due to doing shift-unshift bridging getting to the end island, which may have actually been the difference between getting sub 7 RTA. Once again, the end is still the biggest time save, and the execution could be better. However, despite the small 4 second PB, I'm glad it crossed the sub 7 RTA barrier!

It makes sense considering the old 1.6 SSG seed was replaced with an 1.8 SSG seed, rendering version 1.6 obsolete for SSG. Eventually, SSG got split into various categories on speedrun.com making 1.6 even more irrelevant for SSG. For a while, only the versions that were the fastest for a SSG category on the leaderboards were played. It's only recently that every single version of Minecraft that's not the fastest for a SSG leaderbaord category is getting routed and optimized which includes 1.6.
