I find it hilarious how bono said in an interview that u2 is the best rockband in the world. u2 isnt even the best band in ireland that is thin lizzy so how can they be the best rockband in the world
I love that you can always hear every word he sings, every song his voice is as clear as a bell. Such a unique singer and in my humble opinion the greatest rock lyricist of all time.
Very skilled singer imo! From what I've read he learned early on in his teens/adult life about different singning techniques, also very good at cool, rythmic ways with his singning/vocal, not easy to copy even though he's not the typical high pitched rock singer. His sort of "darker voice" combined with his cool singing style is often times very "mesmerizing" imo. He was also into poetry and wrote great rock song lyrics too, besides being super cool, a great song writer, a frontman and bassist (he played guitar aswell ofc, probably could play other instruments aswell).
Lizzy is the best rock band history. Phil is by far the best composer. Not having Thin Lizzy in the RRHOF shows that people don’t know what rock is about. RIP Phil. 🎸🙏🏻 🎸

You can hear how Phil realized he had written a great and important song. This is no commercial song to please the market. I think he felt he really wanted to give a message. Still he struggles with the words. They dont make 100% sense. But there is a longing for a saviour who can rescue mankind. How many rockers suddenly came up with a song like this? Billy Idol and Alice Cooper made me aware of rock music in the 80's but Thin Lizzy was my true awakening and made me a rocker for life. Truly a remarkable band and forever my heroes.
My favourite band of all time, Phil just sings to you, the studio albums couldn't catch their brilliance, live, wow man their the best, RIP Phil Lynot and Gary Moore 💙
I play Thin LIzzy all the time for the younger people I run across. Such a shame that today rock and roll like this is gone from the mainstream you have to go to a bar to see it played right anymore. Thin Lizzy was one of the greatest band's of the 70's and 80's and I'll never tire of their music.
I shame how it all ended. Would've loved to see what Lynnot, Sykes & Gorham could've done together later on. You can hear the heavy touch they have on this album.... amazing!
I saw the farewell tour. Think I was 14. Glasgow Apollo, its long gone now. They had all the ex guitarists come on stage at one point. Amazing gig. Phil battled demons for many years, I think by then he knew he was on borrowed time. Got to give it up but just couldn't. He was an amazing bloke, sadly missed but hopefully looking down. 🙏
Wharton and Sykes added an interesting layer to what was already an outstanding line-up. I was fortunate enough to see the band throughout its history at many, many gigs. Every one etched into my brain and the soundtrack to my life....and still is. Thank you for posting.
Thin Lizzy was gigantic because of the duet guitarists, the song writing and singin of Phil but was one of the best bass and drums duet that ever lived ! Phil and Brian made their career sticked all together.. It was the musical basics of the band that never changed from the begining to the end !
