*For those asking - 'isn't this just baking?' - No! I already finished my entire makeup routine! I baked - applied all powders, bronzers and blush! this is the last last step before setting spray and bottom mascara! So after you finish you apply the powder lightly under your eyes. Let it sit for at least 15 minutes after you apply bottom mascara. This trick magically prevents the smudging under eyes! :) I've tried so many different things for so many years. This is the only thing that worked for me! x

how do u stop ur eyeliner from running in ur outer corner of ur eyes? I have even baked there and applied black eyeshadow and it still runs.
Micah Williams there's really nothing you can do if it's in the waterline. try different companies sometimes that helps. ik it cosmetics and marc jacobs has nice ones!

This is basically baking after your makeup is done ! Makeup by mario taught it at his masterclass it's called sandbagging ❤ awesome trick it does work ! And that top is goals !

Cheyenne Mcleod have you tried eye cream?
Try a tiny tiny bit of oil under the eyes! Pat very gently and the warmth from your finger/oil combo will smooth things out
All she did was bake her under eye right?
no :) I baked earlier - I did my full face makeup routine before I did the bottom mascara. So the trick is to apply a little more powder before the mascara - let it sit while the mascara dries and lightly wipe away. the powder magically prevents the mascara from drying or smudging on your under eye!!! xx
So this won't work for anyone that doesn't like powder under the eyes.

its baking mid way thru the process as you normally would (if you bake) then baking again afterwards..so baking twice🤔? ...i need to try this because i get the same issue.
My problem is my upper lashes! If I apply my mascara and then go to work, after 3 hours al my mascara is on my skin under the brow. And it looks like a mess!

What about the brow bone area? Does this happen to anyone else? I really long eyelashes and some days I notice about half way through there's black smudges of mascara on my brow bone, I just deal with it since the only way I can get off is to wipe off my eyeshadow. I use a primer, powder it, then eyeshadow and even waterproof mascara but it doesn't seem to matter.
Sarah Loves this happens to me too! my lashes look nice and long after i do my makeup and a couple hours later my brow bone is black and scary
Sarah Loves omg SAME! my eyelashes are my favorite facial feature but it's really annoying when 3 hours after applying mascara, all I have left to show are black marks on my brow bone and eyelashes that are half the length because the top half of them are now mascara-less! any tips would be hugely welcomed 😁
I don't even have super long eyelashes but this happens to me every single day! Soooo frustrating!!!
Good to know I'm not alone ladies. I even took a q tip this morning and dipped it into an astringent and clean my eyebrow bone before my makeup, thinking maybe it could be oils seeping through during the day. It seemed to help a little longer than the usual 4 hours but I've still got a little smudging up there.
Take a clean spoolie and gently brush away. Works on lids and under eye. Wait until the mascara is dry and it'll lift right up and not ruin your eyeshadow.

I literally just started doing this to my under eyes a few days ago. My mascara would always end up under my eyes! But this hack definitely does work!
She is literally the definition of what beauty is.
Instead of putting powder below my eyes, I apply powder to the tips of my lower lashes. No need to wait just over load a brush with some loose power and gently press into lashes. Translucent works best. Quick and easy.

Just cover ur eyes area and spray everywhere else and invest in waterproof eyeliner and mascara so it really won’t ever smudge
When I spray I only close my eyes halfway to avoid this. Like I do the sleep with your eyes open look?? Idk how to explain but u get it 😅

I had the same problem but recently I have been using the urban decay 24/7 glide on pencil and it works really nicely

Carli, loved this hack! I have this issue ALL the time! It drives me bananas! I have to use the Clinique bottom lash mascara but sometimes even that bleeds. Thank you so much for this hack! I will most definitely be trying this today!!!!!

I thought I was the only one with this problem! I apply my bottom mascara while baking my under eyes and it helps. I also add a little bit of the powder in the areas that get dots after using my setting spray!! Works great 😊

Such a great tip! I have the same problem. My lower lashes are pretty long and this always happens. So annoying! Thanks for sharing! Another tip that's helped me is using water proof just on the bottom. I'm going to try this powder trick as well 😘 xo

Samantha Ingersoll that used to happen to me all the time I until I started using an eyeshadow base and powder on top of the base! I use the Lorac base and it never happens anymore :)
Yes! I started using urban decay eyeshadow primer before applying eyeliner and it doesn't move anymore :)
Try avoiding thickening the liner, so it doesn't touch your crease and leave prints

You know what. You changed MY life. I have been dealing with pretty bad eczema /dermatitis on my scalp for a while now. Right around my ears and temples/hairline. It's been pretty bad for few years now. Nothing Doctors gave me helped much at all. BUT............. It had cleared up quite a bit for a few weeks and I couldn't figure out why, but I was pleased. Then I was you and you mentioned you can't drink banana smoothies much anymore, because it caused your eczema to act up! A light bulb went off over my head! I hadn't had any bananas for about a month and that is the timeframe my scalp got so much better! I had a couple of bananas to test my new-found knowledge and it got bad again! So............. I love bananas. But I can't eat bananas anymore. ♥

Another trick is to use a tubing mascara on top of your regular mascara! I have dry skin, so lots of powder can look really cakey on me, especially under my eyes. Tubing mascaras are easy to remove but don't smudge and are way better for your lashes than waterproof mascaras!

I love you Carli but what you're doing is essentially baking. You may not have realized this because I know you're not someone who typically bakes but this trick is used by many people to avoid eyeshadow Fallout as well they just put a little powder underneath their eyes while they're doing their eyeshadow and then when they're done they brush it away so the Fallout goes with it it works well when you use glitter too but happy you found something like baking like the rest of us so you can see really how much it makes a difference in the routine

Can you please make a video about how to avoid fine lines under the eyes and the best concealer + setting powder routine.. i get too many lines and it does not look good.. i don't understand why i have them i'm only 23.
Em A I have a friend who has the same... she said it's common for people wearing contact lenses as she ends up pulling on her skin around the eyes while wearing or removing lenses. Also that she wears eye make up regularly.. so the cleaning/make up removing causes it. Hope it helps
Em A the key is to make sure you apply the powder IMMEDIATELY following the concealer so that it doesn't have any chance to crease.
Pat the concealer on one side with your finger or a flat foundation/concealer brush and if necessary tilt your head back to avoid any skin causing creases. Apply the powder while you're still tilted.
Then do the other eye.
I faced that as well. Super annoying! To have mascara smudges all around my eyes. Thank you so much for sharing this beauty hack. Love you so much carli!

Damn, everybody is coming up with this trick lately! I've been doing the same thing since I saw Wayne Goss (I believe) do it four years ago. . Correct me if I'm wrong. Somebody, anybody? It is VERY effective though. I am surprised I knew something all the fancy MUA's didn't know. I am feeling pretty smart and I like it. 😂😂
