Via Wayne Goss, I use a tiny tiny plaque brush from the toothpaste aisle and use it to lift a tiny bit of mascara off the bigger brush and use that on the lower lash line. Works! Have a great weekend!
I laughed when you said you can not know what you're doing but have the right brush and your make up will look phenomenal. Oh, so you know me do you? I need new brushes. I'm 73 and you can teach an old dog new tricks. You have helped me to get into shape with my makeup. I love it. Thank you.
I just found you Ms. Nikol and I am so so thrilled. You have been the first woman to realize the need and desire for women of all ages, who want to look their best yet have no idea how to go about it. I’m a breast cancer survivor. I had MANY careers so now it was time for me to do exactly what you are doing, only with women who are currently in the hospital undergoing treatment. I had everything planned out, when my oncologist said “ I don’t think you have been out of this insidious illness long enough to help others as you are healing yourself.” My doctor must have had a premonition, because my ADORED, BELOVED HUSBAND suddenly passed away from Covid, and I am trying so hard to heal myself as well as my 3 young adult children. This horrific nightmare happened without any warning. My husband and I had dinner, he felt like he was getting sick and 4 hours later I heard someone call me a widow. I really didn’t want to go into so much information, however YOU have brought me so much happiness and joy I wanted you to know how grateful I am. You have given me hope, and a purpose to get up and make up and greet the day. Thank you from my heart. Please never stop sending your positivity to women, because look what it has done for me. From my heart, Thank you sweet Nikol.
Wow Donna Bilmes, that is an awful lot to have to go through in such a short time. This entire Covid thing makes me as angry as it makes me grieve. My thoughts and prayers are with you during these tough times. I am so sorry to hear about your dear husband and his untimely passing. May our Good Lord and Savior give you Peace and Strength. I'm encouraged how much Joy the videos by Ms. Nikol, bring you. May more and more in your life bring you Joy each day! My heart truly goes out to you.
Your comments ladies has given me new perspective as turning 60 this year was hard. Having medical issues last 8 years, I'm getting better, now want to look better! Ladies keep me up to date!😵💫😁
Here's something to try for lower lashes. Take a tissue or a square of bathroom tissue. Place it under your lower lashes and hold it there. Apply mascara just like you usually do to top lashes. Just brush away. The wand will hit that tissue paper and product will not get on your skin. If you want to separate your lashes, use an old toothbrush. The spread-out bristles will act as a comb to remove excess mascara, and separate your lashes. So easy and fast. Also works on eyebrows to soften harsh pencil lines.
Great idea, BUT how do you keep the mascara from smearing on the skin under the lower lash line? I use waterproof mascara but the oils from the makeup and eye cream , which I need, make the mascara bleed onto my skin. I've tried brushing powder under my lower lash line but it doesn't seem to do much.
@@deniseatthelake I wish I could tell you. I use waterproof mascara too. Maybe carry wood toothpicks with a tiny bi of cotton wrapped around the length. The narrow width of the toothpick would allow you to get the cotton-wrapped side of it right up next to your lash line. NOT the pointed end. Just the side. The cotton would wipe away the smears and absorb the oils. Or maybe try those oil-blotting tissues before the mascara starts running?
Thank you for this tip and I don’t like waterproof mascara for myself because I don’t want to ruin my lashes or making the mascara harder to come off. So thanks so much!
@@deniseatthelake Just put the mascara on the lower lashes and if the mascara gets on your skin , quickly take a new qtip and pick up the mascara color under your lower lashes. It works great. Also, there's also pointy qtips instead of the round qtips would work better, but both qtips work for me.
@@deniseatthelake Hi there! I have suuuper oily lids and used to wear waterproof mascara trying to avoid the dreaded smudge! 😞🤦🏼♀️ My friend is a makeup artist and told me about a tube mascara called Half Caked (I use their Ultimate, curved wand) and it's been two years since I've had any oily smudging, so perhaps this would help you, too? It makes my lashes SOOO long and it wipes off with a wet paper towel, plus it's around $12 a tube!! 🙌💫 Hope this helps you! ♥️
I have given up on makeup tutorials. I accidentally stumbled on yours this morning. What caught my attention was “ not too much”. “not over the top” “and again not too too much”. So i sat down and by golly. I loved this snd saved it all over my phone so i don’t loose it. I love that you know where to spend the expensive and not expensive. Love this. Thanks for sharing👍👱🏻♀️🙏🏻
IF YOUR EYESHADOW (or blush) BREAKS, use a bit of rubbing alcohol and press it all back into the palette. When the alcohol dries, it will be back to normal!
Love seeing you each day. Today I put on full makeup and did my hair-to do Christmas baking!😂 It was so fun to know I looked good for no one but me. Thanks for your encouragement to care about myself just for myself! It’s so fun!!!
Your tutorials are so valuable. You're so appreciated and admired! Don't you worry about those little nitpicky people worried about sunscreen and where you put your foundation. You keep on keeping on! I learned so much from you thank you so much
It's women like you who wear their gray hair well that inspired me to stop coloring over it with the brown tones of my youth. Thanks for the tips. My favorite was the highs & lows using wetnwild foundation. I must try it now. Thanks!
Grey hair is not normal at the young age. Dr. Osborne mentioned that it is certain few vitamin deficiencies that result in hair losing the colour and turning grey.
Got a great hack from a drug store/ former Chanel employee.. put your moisturizer on, dust with loose powder and big brush, use NYX makeup setting spray. Let dry. Then use your foundation. No pores, very little sweating on your face.. best hack and cheap! It works!
Hi Nikol, Thank you for taking the time to share this tip with us. My 16yr old Daughter Angela is just learning to do make-up and we both enjoy watching your tutorials together. You're beautiful.
1. Love your positive attitude! 2. Thank you! For step by step talking and showing us through especially eye makeup. You explain it so much better and with such kindness 3. Thank you for talking through skincare! You've encouraged me to take care of skin not just cover it up 4. I just got dewey wet wild foundation after watching you use it (and think Jessica braun) and it it's so natural yet full coverage it's great. Living in NC summer it does last well 5. Your channel is so great... i turn 40 this year and am always encouraged when i watch your videos to enjoy life and experience God has given me. Aging is a gift.
A tubing mascara such as Blink, L’Oreal Double Extend, or Hard Candy, works great on the lower lashes as it doesn’t smear, cause raccoon eyes, or fallout, and is so easy to remove.
I’ve been using the L’Oréal Double extend for years. I’ve tried every expensive mascara out there and none of them can compare to my L’Oréal double extend. I would lose my mind if they stopped selling it.
@@JerseyShoreShellingMama guess I’m going to have to try out the L’Oreal I have tried so many different brands of Mascara and have not find the right one. Hopefully this will be the end of that journey, unless they stop making it 😉
When I did make up in a salon years ago, I had my own little mascara trick. When applying the mascara after curling your lashes, make sure the tip of the mascara wand isn't all glooped up. Take the tip and vertically brush along the tips of your upper lashes to get them coated. It's an easy way to pick out the longest lashes, pay special attention to the outside lashes. After that go back and start at the base of your lashes on apply your mascara as usual. The reason for doing this is that you can never get the tips as long when you skip this step and just apply from the base to the ends. If you like some more pop, you can put a layer on the tops of your lashes before doing your mascara as usual.
I'm 70 and I've been having my brows and lashes dyed because of gray. Especially helpful on the lower lashes because it doesn't smudge!!! I've also had my brows and upper/lower eye liner permanently tattooed. It's so incredible to wake up looking fantastic! 🤫😚
Hi Nikol, Thanks for another beautiful tutorial! You always demonstrate sound fundamentals for makeup application, plus a little something special that’s new. I have admired your hair so much that I talked my stylist into giving me the same cut and it looks fabulous without the use of excessive heat. My thick, heavy hair has always been long and became high maintenance as the texture changed with age. Now I am able to get a full, sexy look using a set of $10 Velcro rollers. You are a rockstar!
Found this video scrolling make-up hacks. Over 50?! You look FABULOUS!! Love your presentation, application and verbalization. Amazing results! So glad I found you!
My hands to shake, due to TBI (traumatic brain injury.) and tried Selena Gomez’s mascara hack and ultimately, I tweaked the application method, so that it would work for me and I was quite happy, that even I was able to do this! Because mascara and I have a love-hate relationship, and I am obsessed with makeup, and this technique is like a *chef’s kiss* for me. First, I made sure my hands were cleaned. Instead of closing the tweezers, I coated both sides of each leg and I rested the heal of my palm against my jaw, for leverage and with light pressure, I ended up with 100% coverage on my bottom lashes, in one pass… it was the easiest and fastest application, that I have ever accomplished. Seriously. Because of my tremor, I use very little mascara along my upper lashes. Or, I ask my sister to help me. Thank you, so much, Nikol! For sharing this hack, it is very appreciated! ~ Cassandra
Gorgeous look! The Tom Ford colors made your eye color so vivid. The lip combination was one I want to try. It looks luscious. The under eye hack it something this oldie but hoodie will try on her small hooded eyes.
Amazing hack, but yes I have tremors, I’m willing to try it to see if I can, but may not work with me, but what a wonderful way to do the bottom lashes & they don’t look so heavy! Beautiful
I totally enjoy watching your video , I don't wear makeup I just have a natural look ! Eye shadow I've been meaning to try with that beautiful lip gloss your wearing looks outstanding. Thank you
That is a lot of work. I completely stopped wearing make-up years ago and I'm so glad. Natural hair, color and air dry. Natural face. Time saver and still beautiful.
That's a great thing - but not me! My makeup routine is a snap! We don't have to do the same thing to get the look we want, it doesn't have to be time consuming but the older we get, yes, it is going to take a little extra time for hair and makeup but I am totally worth it. I ran out of foundation and the guy who cuts my hair for the past 20 years plus covid, I was out of a haircut, etc. Of course, it crossed/crosses my mind. Now, my guy is back, I have my basic foundation and uh, no. I am very glad that whenever I go out the time was spent to look the best I feel. Being single at age 65, I remember neighbors telling me to "wear your foundation in the summer" when I was like 12 - and I haven't forgotten. My mom always kept a lipstick by the front door mirror and would tell my sisters to put on lipstick before they went out. My mom ALways put on lipstick and a flick of mascara when she went out. The white hair can stay, the slop water grey gets box color. I am completely worth it! I feel better, I look better, I enjoy the compliments and I bet you will, too. Please, don't get me wrong! I'm not knocking you or your decision. It's just where I'm at. And thank you for your comment, it helped ME 🥰
I'm right with you! When I watched this video - it made me feel sleepy - spending that much time and money on trying to look good? Not for me - the woman in the video is beautiful anyway - why slap all that stuff (filled with chemicals) on to your skin?
If we could all be so lucky! I'm 41 years old and people don't beleive me they say I pass for someone in my 20s.. Now if I were to go "all natural" I feel beautiful..sure.. But I like make up becuase it enhances the features that I have. And not to mention the years make up takes off me I am always feeling i could blend in with others OR I can stand out with bigger eyes and some attractive pouty lips... I tend to use natural colors too.. Becuase I don't want to look like I am wearing makeup.. Isn't that ironic? You go girl!
@@seaspray9144 , Yes, the woman in the video is beautiful - with all that makeup on ! I bet no one would look sideways at her, without the gloop. I think some women just enjoy the process of painting themselves up. Why else would you bother - really ? And also, some women must have more money than sense. I have some mineral foundation powder which I dab on to cover up my newly founded red cheeks, and with a lick of mascara I’m finished in less than a minute. But I’m with you. 👍🌈
I love that you go through the process from sart to finish so that the stated purpose (the title of the video) stands out more pointedly when we arrive to a situation in application...Thank You!
I cannot believe that $3 Wet n Wild foundation is one of your favorites😳. I would not even glance at Wet n Wild foundation.. I know it has been getting all of this attention… This is one of your favorites it’s just so hard to believe that a $3 foundation is that GOOD 👍🏼. I have pissed away $70 on a foundation, that for whatever reason it just didn’t suit me.. And yet, I have been sitting on purchasing the Wet n Wild because God forbid I should waste $3. What is wrong with me? 🤪 As always thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience with complete strangers❤️. You have taught me how to catch-up on current makeup products and techniques to help beautify my 50 year old skin 🤫. Thank you❤️I
You should read "Don't Go to the Cosmetic Counter Without Me" by Paula Begoun. Her book compares many name brands and concludes that You DON'T always get what you pay for ! BTW, Wet n' Wild foundation is fabulous !!!!
1st time watcher & now a subscriber! This video was in-between a analytics video part1 I had just watched & the part2 I was headed to. Your title caught my eye so I decided to take a break from analytics & watch. By the end of the video, I had every line on 2 sheets in a spiral notebook filled with detailed notes on every product, tip, & instruction you mentioned! Divorced, my 2 kids are grown, and I have worked from home since 2017, well before Covid - I'm so out of practice with my primping skills! I have seen other creator's make-up videos on occasion in the past, but yours is better 😊
I don’t like the feeling of heavy, thick mascara on my eyes and can’t wait to remove it after a long night. I tried this hack on both my lower and upper eyelashes, achieving a great effect, without that heavy, sticky feeling. Felt like nothing on! Awesome. Thank you.
I have never heard Embryolisse mentioned before. I found it 4 years ago and I love it. It is a wonderful product. I shared it with my daughter and She is a fan. The backwards 3 is a great way to put blush on right. Thanks Nikol!
Hi Nikol, I luv your tutorials and will definitely try the lower lash mascara hack. I am 61 yrs old with hooded eyes and stopped using mascara as I found that it made my eyes look smaller. I may just try the lower lashes to see if that helps me. Ty!
Glorious classic look. Love the bottom lash hack. I buy spoolies in a loose pack to use for bottom lashes, separate upper lashes and to clean up brows.
I’m a new subscriber and I love you channel. I’m 58 always took care of my skin, got that from my mom and grandmother! Now I tell my teenage daughter take care of her skin. Thank you for your wonderful videos! 💕
Nikol is beautiful without make-up but with it she’s gorgeous! Her tutorials have something for ev & at 75 I am trying what appeals to me & what I think I will keep up. I just discovered her a few weeks ago & so far have ord frownies, (husb even ord some for his forehead) & ord eye shadow primer. Who knew there was such a thing. 🤷🏻♀️ Also love her tips on adding mascara to lower lashes. Lastly, her hair is the best I have seen on U-tube & I appreciate her secret to obtaining volume using Velcro rollers. Look forward to watching more. ❤

Excellent! I love your products and I’m dying to get the brush set. I have 5 million ric-rac brushes falling apart. I love your set and case. I can’t wait until I can afford to get it. You prove in every video that it’s a headache we don’t need to waste time on! You got it all figured out for us to have a seamless look w/o hassle! Love u!
You are always so informative, Nikol! You help with the application of product and you share every one you’ve used. I love this about you. As an aesthetician and makeup artist, your tutorials help me to help my clients and teach them the techniques! Then I turn them in to your UA-cam videos! Thank you for sharing!🥰
I ADORE your videos and watch regularly. Your tips and techniques have completely reenergized my beauty and makeup wardrobe and routine. I’ve exclusively used Chanel for 25 years but have now integrated so many of your products and ADORE your colors and finish. Your products are FANTASTIC. I’ve purchased your gloss and lipsticks for my 11 year old girls because your colors are so BEAUTIFUL, for young and old alike!!! Thank you for being you and for the inspiration. Rock on sister!!!✨😎✌🏻✨
Nikol, I totally am in love with your tutorials. I am 69 years old and no one can believe it. My mother and maternal grandmother were from the Deep South and taught me at a young age about good skin care and makeup. Each person has their right to say what they feel but do it in a very mannerly way my friends. It is definitely not etiquette to say such nasty words. I think your natural skin is very nice but using the products enhances what we have. I love to look nice and smell good. U.S. southern girls are known for good manners and beauty. You are a very beautiful and chic woman. Keep up the wonderful videos and those that can’t say nice things should not partake! As Emily Post would say, “it is just good manners.”❤
There is just no way I could do this! I have blinking eye syndrome and I'm thinking I would pluck them all out! Lol. I do use the It waterproof tightline. I bend the end just a bit to make an angle and it works great. Lov your vids.
Love the technique for bottom lashes. My friend will love this as she wears eye enhancing makeup. Love the gene jacket! I like the concealer under eyes. The finished look is lovely!
If you love rich eyeshadows, you should try Viseart, Definitely a favorite of mine. I have adopted your washing the eyeshadow down and it works great! I have been using Laura Gellar products for 20 years. She is one of the unsung heros for women. Thanks for the great video!
This hack is genius! I had stopped wearing mascara on my bottom lashes as they are very long and adding mascara just makes them look too heavy. I will definitely try this! Thanks for sharing!
Dear miss Nikol, your videos are a pleasure to watch and learn from. I never understood makeup before and just avoided it. But after I found you and your videos on silver hair, and then your makeup tutorials, you totally inspired me to get confident and creative and experiment with it! It's so fun! And you make it look so easy. You are inspired 😃 and you help me remember that I too am an empowered woman. Thank you for everything you give and share. As much as I do love learning about how to APPLY the pretty eye makeup, I would also really, really love to learn how to REMOVE it safely and gently. I find that the eyeliners and mascara are so hard to clean out from my lash line! And I don't want to scrub them roughly. There must be a better way. Can you show us how you take it all off?
You should do a double cleanser Use a cleansing balm I love Elemis rose cleansing balm this will melt off all your makeup even waterproof. Then use your favorite cleanser.
@Eleanor L I use elf cleansing balm, and it works beautifully...and very affordable. I love Elemis, but as a senior on a fixed income, I have to pick and choose which luxe item I purchase each month. HTH
Use peroxide on cotten Wipe face gently very good cleanser and deep cleanses pores light applications r use petroleum jelly lightly on face it works very good Vaseline
My first time here. I dont wear make-up often, because I never seem to go anyplace. But this was so amazing to watch, I think I want to try all of this and surprise my husband and take him out to eat, or even just out for icecream! Love the lower lash hack! Great video! Blessings,Fran
@@Kathy-20J-73 That we do every weekend he isnt working, Miss Kathy! I love to just cuddle! We have been married 22 years and we are still like young lovers..lol Its amazing when you find your sould mate! Blessings,Fran
Great video! Some of the women in my family get dark mustache. Have you ever tryed the epilator on your facial hair. Hair comes back lighter and softer.
Really prefer the French skin care products! The French women are much more into skin care, and not so much into makeup. I’ve been using French skin care for long time, my skin is so much better, and haven’t always done as much makeup as I did when I was younger. However, I do love your eye makeups and cheek colors a lot💓
You're beautiful, I relate to you. You work hard and it shows. In your body, face, business and home. The fact that you can do a UA-cam show with gusto after 13 years is beyond commendable, for most people who are grouchy from the second they wake up it is incomprehensible I am sure. When there is light in the world, the darkness tries to put it out. For the simple fact that the light exposes that darkness exists. I don't mean any harm, but you're the first person I have followed and I'm just realizing how ugly comments can get and I can hardly believe it . I'm hope for peace and comfort and happiness for everyone. Whether someone wears make up or not. ❤️
The "less is more" comment gave me a chuckle, because it does make sense in a way, but your awareness of how it might sound is refreshingly honest, and you have fun with it.
I'm a makeup artist & specialize in makeup for the older woman. I've always thought mascara on bottom lashes drew down the face (all those little arrows pointing down) and looked phony. Spider eyes I called them. But this subtle amount just on the outer third of the lower lashes looked nice, I must admit.
I agree. Anything going down pulls the face down and emphasizes gravity. I would not do this on a 50 yo woman. It looks great on a young woman. The idea is to lift up. Eyebrows also need to go up. Crease needs to be up. Everything needs to go up after 50.
R.P., totally agree with you. Up is the only way to go. I’m 60, and can honestly get away with saying I’m 45. Even the smallest amount of mascara on lower lashes isn’t good for ME. I also do my bottom waterline with a light pink pencil, and it opens my eyes up and makes my face look younger. I’m fighting it every step of the way. ☮️♥️💐
Although my hair is still mostly dark, my lashes are fine and short and largely disappear. I most definitely use mascara on the lower lashes-- when I use much makeup at all, which is generally only for dance events and performances. It doesn't "draw down the face" when applied judiciously, and it doesn't look phony when it's just enough to make the lashes visible. Perhaps you are thinking of the way women look when they really cake the mascara on?
Thank you for the bottom mascara hack. I will be giving it a try. THOSE EARRINGS ARE GORGEOUS! I wish there was a link for those but I guess they’re vintage so that’s not possible. You’re very beautiful and you have a new subscriber.
I love Laura Geller's cooling concealer... it's a fantastic product. I literally use her powder foundation, baked blush , eyelashes and a lippy... takes minutes
I love your videos! You give the best advice and product reviews. I bought the Chanel Rose Drops after watching a video you used them in and they are amazing. I can’t wait to try this hack!
Greetings Nikol! First time watcher here. I LOVED this video. Love the Anthelios face sunscreen, especially the invisible finish one (worth every penny!). I also love you for reinforcing how important brushes are for doing your makeup. I freely admit that for years I didn't get brushes - just thought they were a cash grab, after all, your products usually give you neat little brushes. Problem is, they just DON'T work. Period. So I've finally thrown mine out and invested in great brushes. Keep up the great work - you're a beautiful woman with great presence in your videos. Cheers from Canada!
Soooo, I tried the lower lash hack. I wasn't too interested in trying it bc I thought it sounded weird, and harder than just using a light hand with the mascara I use on my lower lashes (which has a teeny tiny brush). Silly me. Easy peasy and WOW! My lashes are light blond and if I'm putting mascara on the bottom I feel like I need to do some kind of lining as well, I've just never been able to do the light piecy thing because the blond lashes left uncovered just look odd. This works like a dream! Might sound weird but you can intentionally clump some together and then individually coat just a few! This is a long explanation but for all the redheads and light eyelashed gals, ifykyk, try this! You'll be amazed! I know Selena has dark eyelashes, as do you Nikol - but I think she discovered, and you shared, a lower lash hack that could save the world!! Ok not really, but wouldn't that be nice 😀
Thank you for your tutorials and you are beautiful with gorgeous, gorgeous hair. I miss the simple days back in the 80's and 90;s when make up was simple and not so complicated...with so many items we now "so called need". I look forward to your videos so I can learn to enhance my features while learning new techniques. it will take me awhile to get all the items you recommend as I see their results and read your fabulous comments.
Hi Nikol. I also LOVE your earrings. Another great tutorial. As always you look fantastic! Can't wait to try the mascara hack, thanks for sharing. Regarding skincare application. How do I get the most benefit? Do I apply serums and/or moisturizer/sunscreen by patting into the skin or rubbing? Have a great weekend!
Really pleased I hung in there to watch. I wear l lot of Tarte products. You gave me a lot of great tips. Did you mention you sold the brushes. I like the tapered one, and like the blending brush.
You’re gorgeous. I am growing out my color to let the gray shine through been coloring my hair since I was 15, now 51 need to give my hair a break Just bought some of your products I look forward to using them.
Luv your vintage jacket. Just a shout out that I am enjoying your trio concealer, lip gloss and mascara. Thanks for all your kind words and I wish more women would be kind to one another. Let each person be themselves. How dull and boring would the world be if we all looked similar and had the same hair color etc. thanks for sharing.
I can no longer find Chanel gloss 722. Any substitute recommendations? BTW, I learn so much from your videos. I am 73 years old, and still love learning new tricks/hacks for improving my looks. Thank you! Patty
As a women of deep color I usually stick with watching artist that share my hue . I watched your video and I loved it ! Awesome tutorial . New subscriber 🥰
OMG! I am 75 years old and I still would never put that much stuff onto my face. I only put something on the places that really need it and I look just fine. That means pretty much eyebrows eyelashes and lips. The rest of me is doing OK.
I don't think she put a lot of makeup on her face. She looks good with the amount that she put on. A lot of older women wear bare minimum makeup or non at all , but there are a population of aging women who still like wearing more makeup than not. That's the beauty of individuality. You don't always have to follow the crowd.
I also use lips and eyes and hint of blush, high cheek bones and where a visiting Dior man said I should. My skin is excellent and has light which makeup covers to become solid and opaque. Interesting video. The neck showed the difference though.
Before I get into the main reasons im commenting today, I wanted to thank Nikol for spreading her beauty knowledge, the detailed explanations and examples she provided and to commend her on her confidence for sinply having the guts to film herself and post it. it's way harder than it looks, so im high fiving her for that alone. What im about to say next goes out to all of the women who felt it necessary to be passive-aggressive, hide-behind- your-keyboard bitch commentators. First, no one cares that you don't wear make-up; this tutorial is for those of us WHO DO enjoy applying make-up, whether we need it or not. Personally, I can't stand crocheting, so why the hell would i ever watch a video on it, then proceed to comment about how much I dislike knitting? It's a waste of my time and frankly, NO ONE GIVES A F$&K! Second of all, to negatively comment on Nikol's skin was another mean-girl move that bothered me to all hell. THIS ISN'T A SKINCARE TUTORIAL, so who cares what her skin looks like? THAT'S NOT WHAT WE ARE HERE FOR!!! Besides, what good is that gonna do, to be rude as shit for no good reason? i bet all of you made these comments because, no matter how much or how well you apply your make-up, you end up looking like crap regardless. Keep your nastiness to yourself! Last time i checked, purposely being hurtful and the au natural look didnt go together
It's so true though, I cannot understand why or what drives a perito comment on something they aren't even to? Why even watch something you're not interested in? Could it be that they like are trying to rage bait? They get their kicks off of upsetting people? 🤷🥴
I understand what you were saying and agreed with you until you lowered yourself to their level and attacked them by saying they're probably all ugly and no amount of makeup could make them pretty; which made your comment just as bad as theirs.
Would you have called someone ugly if they hadn't said it first? Intentions matter. There is a different intent when someone is defending someone innocent. Then just coming out and saying unkind things for absolutely no reason other than to be mean. While it's never right. If we are going to judge someone, I feel we should look at the reasons why. The intent. No one is perfect. Including Nikol. This channel is about celebrating the good. While keeping negativity as little as possible considering that imperfect people cannot perfectly do anything 100% of the time. So what causes someone who doesn't do make up to watch this type of video? Is it to purposely try to hurt others? I did see MVP. So are there a group of people who work at giving the lowest blows while trying to make others look they are wrong somehow? And the person who succeeded would be a most valuable player? 🥴🤷🤔😒 Who knows
I think Nikol's videos are well thought out and nicely delivered. I noticed her skin is not perfect, neither is mine! So? She is still a beautiful lady. She is informative and her presentations are quite enjoyable to watch. I see nothing to criticize. Glad she shares her knowledge and experience!
I am 60+ years. First, I place my mascara up under my boobs while I put on my makeup. The warmth helps it not be so clumpy. As far as my lower lashes, I use Maybelline Lash Discovery...tiny wand...great for lower lashes. I always scrape the sides of the wand across the top of the mascara tube so only a minimal amount stays on the wand. Love your videos! Just ordered your eyelid primer!
@CathyDixon Wait! You place your mascara up under your boobs, while you put on your makeup!? I didn’t know mascara needed to be placed there!! I guess they could be the eyes (or where to look!) according to some men!
@@smalltowngirlbigcityheart3724 LOL!! LMAO!!! IT REALLY WORKS! To add more craziness...I have one type mascara under one and another type (for my lower lashes) under the other boob. At my age, those babies are locked down until I am ready to use them. But seriously, it heats up the mascara so the consistency of the formula is not so thick. Give it a try....just don't forget it is there!😉
Great idea Nikol! I will for sure try it! I have learned so much from you, and gotten several of your lip glosses that I just love! Have you ever done a tutorial for contact lens wearers and make-up? I would like to know if you put your contacts in before or after make-up?
Linda here...love the earrings, a note about the sunscreen..ladies probably want to know when to put the sunscreen on, in what order. Just an idea. Great informative videos.
Just found you, was impressed with your look, but what blew me away, was your hair, I am in the process of going a la natural, your colour is exactly what mine is it right now, well top and front, need it cut to get rid of last bit of blonde streaks I used to have. Thank you
Via Wayne Goss, I use a tiny tiny plaque brush from the toothpaste aisle and use it to lift a tiny bit of mascara off the bigger brush and use that on the lower lash line. Works! Have a great weekend!
I’ve just tried the one Nikol has demoed and the Wayne one. Wayne wins hands down. Great. Thanks for the tip.
Great idea! Love Wayne, haven't seen this little trick with the tiny plaque brush but am going to try it ASAP! Thank you for sharing!!
Awesome I would use the little plaque brush when I did brow tinting on my clients. I loved how I could cost every brow hair!
@@NikolJohnson I’m definitely going to try this method the next time I tint my eyebrows, thanks!
Way better idea then tweezers.
I laughed when you said you can not know what you're doing but have the right brush and your make up will look phenomenal. Oh, so you know me do you? I need new brushes. I'm 73 and you can teach an old dog new tricks. You have helped me to get into shape with my makeup. I love it. Thank you.
The hack for bottom lashes starts at 8:08, if you want to skip to it, but... you miss half of this tutorial! Great advise on subtle summer makeup!
thank you sooooo much...I was losing it. My grandmother has better skin than her
Omg what a great idea for bottom lashes using tweezers! Thank you! I hate the smeared look & seems to happen to me all the time!
Thank u
Thank u! To much talking just to see one hack lol
MVP 👏
I just found you Ms. Nikol and I am so so thrilled.
You have been the first woman to realize the need and desire for women of all ages, who want to look their best yet have no idea how to go about it.
I’m a breast cancer survivor. I had MANY careers so now it was time for me to do exactly what you are doing, only with women who are currently in the hospital undergoing treatment.
I had everything planned out, when my oncologist said “ I don’t think you have been out of this insidious illness long enough to help others as you are healing yourself.”
My doctor must have had a premonition, because my ADORED, BELOVED HUSBAND suddenly passed away from Covid, and I am trying so hard to heal myself as well as my 3 young adult children.
From my heart,
Thank you sweet Nikol.
Strength and blessing sent to you and your family in your loss. Take care.
Sincere condolences on the passing of your dear husband. May the good Lord reassure you that He has people in your life helping you. Be blessed.
So very sorry to hear of the loss of your adored husband. Wishing you strength and peace x
I’ll be praying for you on your journey to healing.
I just love and appreciate Nikol and her tutorial videos. She is genuine, warm, caring, down to earth and fun❣️
@@deniseatthelake
Just put the mascara on the lower lashes and if the mascara gets on your skin , quickly take a new qtip and pick up the mascara color under your lower lashes.
Yes Nikol is awesome!
IF YOUR EYESHADOW (or blush) BREAKS, use a bit of rubbing alcohol and press it all back into the palette. When the alcohol dries, it will be back to normal!
WOW that alcohol has got to be great for your skin.
@evamorris9230 the alcohol evaporates and is no longer in the product.
excellent idea
I use the mascara brush pointed up and down rather than sideways on bottom lashes. It separates the lashes and makes them look so much longer.
That’s what I do.. you would get these same exact results
That’s how I was taught about a million years ago as a teen. It’s a stellar method.
Less risky than tweezers, i agree. Thats the technique i use, same as you
I too do the same exact thing with the mascara that you do and it gives me the same results. Been doing this forever, 50 years and counting! 🤣
Same
Love seeing you each day. Today I put on full makeup and did my hair-to do Christmas baking!😂 It was so fun to know I looked good for no one but me. Thanks for your encouragement to care about myself just for myself! It’s so fun!!!
Love this ⚡️💥
Great 😊
I love your videos Nikol ty ❤
Your tutorials are so valuable. You're so appreciated and admired! Don't you worry about those little nitpicky people worried about sunscreen and where you put your foundation. You keep on keeping on! I learned so much from you thank you so much
Thank you 😊
Such a beautiful lady!😍
I agree. Just because the makeup tutorial did not include sunscreen, doesn't mean it's not necessary.
@@maryboring1426 yes and a lovely person too
Ignore the trolls. You can't please everyone. We love you.
It works!
I'll give this a shot.
Great idea
Hi Nikol, Thank you for taking the time to share this tip with us. My 16yr old Daughter Angela is just learning to do make-up and we both enjoy watching your tutorials together. You're beautiful.
1. Love your positive attitude!
2. Thank you! For step by step talking and showing us through especially eye makeup. You explain it so much better and with such kindness
3. Thank you for talking through skincare! You've encouraged me to take care of skin not just cover it up
4. I just got dewey wet wild foundation after watching you use it (and think Jessica braun) and it it's so natural yet full coverage it's great. Living in NC summer it does last well
I hate racoon eyes! So this is what I need? A tubing mascara? What is that? Different from one with fibres I guess?
@@littleboots9800 Yes, it creates little tubes around your lashes. Totally different than regular mascara.
@@hiannahgus574 Oh cool. Sooty undereyes is the bane of my life, I'm gonna get the L'Oréal one tomorrow! Thankyou!
Thank you for sharing 💜😘

She's talking about lower lashes 🤷
Great idea 🙂
I'm 70 and I've been having my brows and lashes dyed because of gray. Especially helpful on the lower lashes because it doesn't smudge!!! I've also had my brows and upper/lower eye liner permanently tattooed. It's so incredible to wake up looking fantastic! 🤫😚
That’s a great treatment permanent makeup
Dying your lashes is temporary. Last about 2 weeks. Also have eyeliner tattoo, a little lipstick and mascara when in a hurry.
@spirals 73 Can you just get lash extensions instead? ☺️
Would love to have he lids tattoed! Did it hurt much?

Nikol Johnson….YOUR HAIR IS GORGEOUS!!!!
Awesome you are using the Velcro curlers my favorite trick!!!!!
@@NikolJohnson do you have a tutorial on using velcro curlers? How do I start to learn how to do this?
You are very blessed. Unfortunately I wasn’t! About to turn 66 and need all the help I can get! Actually I find it fun.
I know it has been getting all of this attention…
This is one of your favorites it’s just so hard to believe that a $3 foundation is that GOOD 👍🏼.
I have pissed away $70 on a foundation, that for whatever reason it just didn’t suit me..
And yet, I have been sitting on purchasing the Wet n Wild because God forbid I should waste $3.
What is wrong with me? 🤪
As always thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience with complete strangers❤️.
You have taught me how to catch-up on current makeup products and techniques to help beautify my 50 year old skin 🤫.

Awesome. Thank you.
Love how natural yet beautiful this make up application is.
Your video on gray hair gave the courage to grow my hair out. It's silver in the front and darker in the back. I'm glad I did it

@@NikolJohnson Okay, thanks for these suggestions! I'll try it!

You can get reverse tweezers that you need to squeeze to open. Usually found to be used in the craft world.
The "less is more" comment gave me a chuckle, because it does make sense in a way, but your awareness of how it might sound is refreshingly honest, and you have fun with it.

@@NikolJohnson I like it, go with it 😆!
I don’t agree. I love this look on older women super chic
@@reemclaughlin4260 what pencil do you use?
I'm 63, very fair, blonde and graying hair. I have always had light eye lashes and brows. So, I still apply mascara on my lower lashes
That’s the perfect situation for browns or less stark black to avoid how aging that black can be for fair hair + the aged.
I love Laura Geller's cooling concealer... it's a fantastic product. I literally use her powder foundation, baked blush , eyelashes and a lippy... takes minutes

So hard to pick a favorite but this has to be my all time fav!! You look absolutely gorgeousness!!
Love the mascara hack, but had to lol at the natural hair dry comment! I’m with you on that one girl.
Love your video's. Straight talk, to the point! What you use, how to use, High Low Products, and the shared Hacks are wonderful. Keep them coming! ❤🎉😊
Thank you 😊 😘😘

Really pleased I hung in there to watch. I wear l lot of Tarte products. You gave me a lot of great tips. Did you mention you sold the brushes. I like the tapered one, and like the blending brush.
I love that you share your knowledge thank you so much Nicole it helps me want to still look good as I age . 😊
You’re gorgeous. I am growing out my color to let the gray shine through been coloring my hair since I was 15, now 51 need to give my hair a break
Just bought some of your products I look forward to using them.
Beautiful clean explanation of application Nice that your brows are so full also!
The mascara hack starts at 7:10 ;)
I can no longer find Chanel gloss 722.
I’m in my mid 40’s and I use It tightline. I love it. My daughter bought it for wen I told her I was struggling with my lower lashes.
OMG! I am 75 years old and I still would never put that much stuff onto my face. I only put something on the places that really need it and I look just fine. That means pretty much eyebrows eyelashes and lips. The rest of me is doing OK.
Absolutely
I agree
I don't think she put a lot of makeup on her face. She looks good with the amount that she put on. A lot of older women wear bare minimum makeup or non at all , but there are a population of aging women who still like wearing more makeup than not. That's the beauty of individuality. You don't always have to follow the crowd.
I also use lips and eyes and hint of blush, high cheek bones and where a visiting Dior man said I should. My skin is excellent and has light which makeup covers to become solid and opaque. Interesting video. The neck showed the difference though.
She's selling products.
I wish my hair was as thick as yours! Your makeup looks so natural and love the lower lash trick!
I found that using tubing mascara on the bottom results in absolutely no smudging or smearing.
Thanks for sharing with us your makeup tips and tricks. I love how you did that.
Girl look at you, telling people they look like "crap" you go.... putting people down is the best🙄
I struggle so much with lower mascara that I stopped using it at all but will definitely try this!
I found the Tom Ford eye quads at The Cosmetics Company store for 50 or 75% off, great deals
Great find make sure they are authentic
CRAZY! I love this tweezer trick-I use lash princess waterproof with primer and will give this a try bc under eye mascara smudge is my battle Royale.
Awesome!!!!!
“Up under my boobs”…😧
Ok, TMI…for this channel.
Probably would go over well on Cardi B’s..
Thanks for your tips! They make sense, I’ll try it. Never thought about warming the tube. Makes sense, especially where I live in colder weather.
Thank you
Love this look! Can't wait to try the wet n wild dewy foundation!
Wow! I totally needed this. I can neer get mascara on my bottom lashes without messing it up. I am so going to try this!
