I know this video is old but I finally got an 88T parts car for my 86 and a mega ton of new parts sponsored by sellling my house lol! I'm a broke mechanic myself lol! At least you have a spot with a lift makes everything way easier to deal with great vids probably on of the better channels as far as actually doing the work. And thanks for never tapping on the parts your talking about with a screw driver that's really annoying lol!
I installed Powertrix earlier this year and love them. Awesome customer service with Charles Park. I ended up heating my spindles in the oven and mig welding them since i don't have a tig welder. Make sure you grind the nub off the spindle so the coilover tubes sit flush.
Did the same job on my 84 S12 200sx (v8 swapped baby!) very good upgrade. Used a hole saw on the subframe bushings, and a torch for the control arm bushings
Great video and really excited to be doing this to my z31 also a 87 and I have a question idk if you still remember what all materials you got for this project, obviously the master bushings kit, coilovers, trans mount but do you remember what little things you needed or wish you had like new sleeves for the rear control arms, better ball joints, more prothane grease, or a torch for the bushings etc just trying to make my materials list thanks
If you plan on doing the full master bushing kit just plan on doing everything. ball joints, tie rod ends etc... I had plenty of grease that was provided in the kit.
Are you talking about the ones in the control arms? I noticed that it calls for different part #s on each side and some are optional alternatives. Thats why they have extra bushing in that kit. I'm about to tackle that tomorrow. I was wondering what that was all about.

Good job on this build and for saving this beautiful JDM legend.
This was an extremely educational video for the z31. I’ve done this job myself and it’s not easy. Good job

knocking noise is the diff mount
My case it was coming from the sub frame passenger side mount. Although yes I can see that causing a knocking noise as well.

@@importmodify thanks for the quick reply and will do
Sometimes those bushings when you put them together one side is smaller than the other side the idea is so the pin can turn freely

Quick question. What episode did you remove headlights and paint the pockets?
I've replied multiple times to this but for some reason it shows I haven't on my end. So I'll try again its on episode 88.
@@importmodify Awesome thank you!
