I picked a z31 a couple months ago cause I needed a cheap daily. It’s one of those cars that really makes you fall in love. Very under appreciated imho.
I did the same thing, on my M30s. The other option is to pop an s13 ball joints into the lower control arm and run s13 hubs and knuckles, which have more aftermarket stuff available, like big brake kits and lower camber adjustments.
8:36 for what its worth the nissan service manual tells you to tighten it to some low torque spec and loosen it half a turn, so thats probably actually within spec
Seems like yall could use some Z31 help lol someone makes a sleeve kit for converting the rear coilovers lower bolt. And the slot mod is what you guys wanna do for the rear camber correction.
I owned a 1986 12 years or so ago..I actually loved it more than my z32..2021 the market is gonna go waayyyy up on them..seeming all s13 and s14s wrecked..lol
Really good video, reminds me of struggling with my friends z. Definitely like the z owners on camera personality, maybe your guys should feature him on more videos
just an idea for sleeves if you can't make one yourself, look for headless drill bushings that have your desired ID and your desired OD. Acme bushings is an easy website to use and find what you need.
@@StreetBandito they arrive tomorrow, im planning on burning the bushing out of the old rear shock to use the metal sleeve as a spacer for the s13 mount, and I have washers to fit over as well. Now I just gotta get a quote for the spindle welding. Btw i had t3 gtx2 kit before u guys covered it, lol.
The issue that has me concerned with going to coilovers is that the entire rear weight of the car (which is about 50% of the total weight) now rests on the forks of the rear control arms, which were never intended to support that weight. It is normally distributed between the rear springs (which fit into a mold on the flat of the arm) and shocks, of which the majority is on those molds, not the shock forks. Then you have to add the accelerated forces of road bumps and other movements which with a lowered car are greater than stock. And then there is the issue of the inner tops of the shock towers; were they ever intended to withstand that weight as well? Even if you hit the shock bump stop, part of the car's weight is still shared by the springs.
I have a 300zx has been in my family for so long time and has been forgotten about i have tried to get it to run again but just haven't i need help or someone who works on these types of cars.
Is old G talking about Laura Silsby, Haiti, Hilary's hubby's commutations (incl. Susan Rosenberg too), Weiner laptop, Seth Rich's murder, etc. by any chance?
I don't think so. BC has R&D and they actually develop special setups for some youtubers with special needs. Not saying its impossible, but i highly doubt it
@@mod.ts76 a gto drivetrain w/subframes swapped into an 80s accord hatchback. BC remanufactured and sent Bodevision a set of gto coils and i think they where sent back to be modified further/closer to his needs. They do custom hot jobs for B is for build. Maxspeeding rods are more comparable to Yonaka and every other set of coilovers under that price range. I wouldnt give them a 5 star rating for the Miata. But BC racing coils definitely are quality products. Megan makes awesome coilovers too. Im more curious in some real CXracing coilovers last ive been watching them sell them for over 10 years. And they don't look like cheapos
I can say with 100% certainty that these have nothing on BC. You can customize literally everything with their coilover and they are hand built in the warehouse. For under $300 these are awesome, but to compare them to BC is idiotic.
I would really like to see a follow up about the ride quality on the streets and highway for daily driving. I was going to buy these for my 280zx but im worried it will ride way too rough ...im not auto crossing it. I want better handling than stock but i dont want it to shatter my teeth over ever bump.
Can you. Technically yes, you can bolt them on. Should you. No. It changes the geometry because s13 knuckles are offset and will sit your wheel way further back in the wheel well.
Hell he better be quarantine he black. Everyone know that shit is hitting the black community HARD. Just like any other virus would do. Personally am just happy to see a brother in the mix!!! Much love to all of you Z31.
I wish mine looked as clean as that one. The previous owner left her looking like shit leaving me having to replace $4k in suspension, tires, breaks, engine, body and cosmetic damages. Only good thing going for it is that my Z only has 155k miles on it so it still has room to break in and be used.
PB the Blaster......! Hey everybody has to test the cheap parts.. they are designed for the Street ,to save some dimes ! Can't rag on them Some body's trying to keep SANITY ! Most people rather buy a place to live, than to drive around with the money you could have bought so shack with !!! Thank you CHEAP parts !
Why do so many otherwise great cars , have inferior Macpherson strut suspension ? Dual wishbone suspension is a 100 times better , and it can't add that much to the cost of building .
Thanks for not being part of the problem. Covid is very political. Tony Heller has some great videos on the topic, particularly the how govt responded to H1N1 that is worth a watch

I bought one of these 10 years ago and still own it. It was the first car I ever bought at 17 years old. Won't ever sell it.
just bought mine 2 weeks ago im 18 never gonna sell it
Z31 content is very much needed on UA-cam let alone for Z31 owners
Oh man This video made my day. Z31 was my 1st car. Started my love of Z's And hes got the digi dash too such a beautiful car.
I did the same thing, on my M30s. The other option is to pop an s13 ball joints into the lower control arm and run s13 hubs and knuckles, which have more aftermarket stuff available, like big brake kits and lower camber adjustments.
If only my life had the chill factor of these videos
Those 300s had the coolest digital dash. I loved the one I had.

Get it! Greg giving zero F's.
I love the z31! Definitely the forgotten Z. It's a great car though.
Yes, PLEASE more z31 content.
I installed exact same setup my friend Z with sleeves at the rear bottom😎
I owned a 1986 12 years or so ago..I actually loved it more than my z32..2021 the market is gonna go waayyyy up on them..seeming all s13 and s14s wrecked..lol
One of the teachers at my school had one with a V12 swapped into it.
The 4th bandito is pretty rad ngl
Love the beautiful beats in ya vids it makes the video so chill to watch almost therapeutic. Keep up the vibes love you guys too death.

It's been 90° plus with 80° humidity. That shop must have some sick AC
Pure sweat and heat no ac lol
Amazing vid, more of this. Awesome recording too. Great job guys.
I had a set on my 07 Subaru. And they was awesome.
Burn the factory rear bushings out. They already make the perfect sleeve!
How wide are those spacers
I just bought some msp coilovers cos of you guys, ty for the video
No problem! Best of luck with install 👍🏽

Theres not enough clean z31s, so im trying to make this one stand out a little :p
What today is friyahhh

Yall made this way more difficult than it had to be lmao. Swapping year top hats is way easier than a dremel lol
Please more z31 300zx videos !!!!!!
All the z31 people in comments love you guys now.
Just let us have this lol. We don’t get much 😂
The z31 is 1 of my favorite cars.
Those are 88 z31 skirts?
They make spacers/sleeves for the rear coilover conversion.
I had a white 300z turbo very similar to this back in college. was a great cruiser.
I have a 300zx has been in my family for so long time and has been forgotten about i have tried to get it to run again but just haven't i need help or someone who works on these types of cars.
oh yeah ive been waiting on this video for so long !!!
What year s13
How are they holding up a year later?
🔥🔥🔥Yessirr!!!🔥🔥🔥
Whoooty whoooooo
@@StreetBandito the boy was ready todayyyyy 😎
Evil twin episode.
I believe you can pull/melt out the sleeves from the stock struts and use them as spacers for the rear
That's what I did!
Caught red handed with the pb blaster!
Whats the advantage of putting a S13 Coils on vs. ones made for a 300Z?...this whole process seems like a pain lol
Nothing. Just put in Ceika’s meant for the Z31 and the process was no where near as difficult and the only advantage is the price.
Lol that’s what he wanted, budget build
Street Bandito oh yeah no definitely, nothing wrong with it
Don't you think that the s14 knuckles would make this job easier?
not sure, the owner of the car was on a budget so we made what we did work
9:31 anything is a hammer if you want it to be 😂😂😂
Is old G talking about Laura Silsby, Haiti, Hilary's hubby's commutations (incl. Susan Rosenberg too), Weiner laptop, Seth Rich's murder, etc. by any chance?
Probably better than BC🤭 Probably from same factory too...
👀
I don't think so. BC has R&D and they actually develop special setups for some youtubers with special needs. Not saying its impossible, but i highly doubt it
Wat makes u say that?

Greg must regret saying that PB blaster doesn't work, every time he picks up the can and Xavier is near by.
Lmao everytime!
Wish my Z31 was as clean as that one, my interior is definitely a lot better tho lol. The exterior of mine needs some work lol
was wondering what happened to this car
🔥🔥🔥🔥 There is one for sale here for 3500 with 52k original miles 🤔🤔🤔
i feel like you guys need a lathe and a welder in this shop. that coilover bolt issue could have been solved if you just turned a sleeve on a lathe
Miss my z31 so bad!

These coilovers are literally the worst I’ve ever used
Greg is my spirit animal
The z squad only person who need a z is Xavier now
I shall continue the hunt for one lol
Can’t you just put the S13 knuckles on it also? I’m not sure but I thought I saw that somewhere
Can you. Technically yes, you can bolt them on.
Should you. No. It changes the geometry because s13 knuckles are offset and will sit your wheel way further back in the wheel well.
Get techno toy tuning to do some z31 stuff 👍
Damn nice excess to lift wow
Looking good, I went to ace hardware to find rear sleeves to compensate for the bolt size difference. Worked great for years.
Specs?

Should check out my Z31🥴
I remember calling him out on liquid wrench
This gets more views in 4 hours than the vid I made on this in 3 years lmao

That car is rough, and that’s putting it nicely.

I was most certainly amazed for the price lol
15:20 RELEASE THE SHMOOO!!!!
2:52 I thought he was gonna say "yo mama"
I thought ebay coilers were junk. I guess not.
Greg.... you gotta wear them ears man!!!
🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️
this car looks sick, but somehow they are a lot more expensive here
FFS wear safety glasses when you are cutting with a zip cut!!!!!! That carbon fibre dust is destroying your eyes as well my dude
dampening adjustable? let's be honest, no one is really adjusting their coilovers besides ride height.
Oh yeah #nohairs
These sound almost exactly like a 350z with the addition of a Y pipe
350z sounds like trumpets, VGs don’t sound rice.
jubilee clip your 21 socket
The dude who owns this car is hella annoying. Why’s he trynna act like he’s some master mechanic? Also we don’t need adlibs from him lmao.
Hahahhahaha
Why are you making fun of the guy for his mask. We should all be wearing masks, period.
Because we all good and it’s just the 3 of us 👌🏽
