Thank you so much for the positive feedback everyone, we're truly excited to bring this watch to the public! Quick edit - the bracelet tapers from 20mm to 18mm, not 20mm to 16mm. Thank you! Ryan & Reagan
you guys are awesome! can really feel your passion for your craft and love of watches. I was wondering if I pre-order a d7 now, will I be getting it mid December? thankyou
Thank you so much for the kind words James, that means a lot to us! We're just trying to build a great brand and get quality watches out to good people.
As a local in Venice, I was debating getting a pre-owned Breitling or new Tag a few weeks ago but after seeing this I just ordered the D5 Arctic. The value prop is clear as day and I'm stoked to support a local Venician brand, made in America. Keep up the awesome work guys. Feel way more excited and connected to this watch already than I would have with a legacy brand.
Well, this is straight up watch porn. ;-) I was sold from the get go when the release was announced. This video helps me to "get" the Pacific design. It looked too busy to me initially, but the lume is pretty astonishing. I went with the Arctic White... I absolutely agree on the WR/case height design decision, and the lug design, and more... The bracelet is promising. I wish it had 1-2 more setting holes on the clasp, and a ratcheting diver's feature. Yes, these are costly additions. I would have gladly paid the uptick. And, I hope that you might make a bracelet for the field mechanical at some point. We will see whether this lug to lug of 48 with solid links is going to work comfortably on my tiny baby man wrists. What the hell. I will take a chance. Good work, fellas. Thanks. Oh. Have you considered adding cordura or canvas straps to your product line? Maybe these are more comfortable during the hottest time of the year, than leather, rubber/silicon, or nylon.
Just purchased my D7 Atlantic. 2 days after watching this video and discovering your brand. Haha. Looks like a super solid watch and I love that it’s designed in LA (where I’m based) and has the appeal of a Swiss Made luxury watch. And hearing the process you guys went through designing these time pieces, you can tell a lot of care went into these watches. Can’t wait to unbox mine! 👌🏼
I snagged a Dirty Dozen and loved it! I wasn’t planning on scooping a diver this time around as I was underwhelmed with stock photos and because I’ve got “too many” divers. This video may or may not have changed my mind 🤔 Great video guys!
You guys did a great job with this. The video and the watches. Really like the tropic version too. Very different from your typical diver, but very cool.
Awesome video. I cannot wait for my D5 Arctic. I now feel like I should own one of each. You guys are about to make a lot of people very happy. The dive watches are a great addition to your lineup... Well done!
Great video guys! Can’t wait to get my D5 Arctic! It would be great if you threw together a compilation of all the videos featuring the watch without commentary too
First thing you have to do is get rid of the word waterproof. No watch is waterproof they’re only water resistant to a certain depth. In 1990 ISO 22180 was formed to protect the consumer that no watch is truly waterproof only water resistant because eventually all Watches will leak at a certain depth.
Great job guys. Can't wait to get my D7 Atlantic. Super glad I'm a backer, usually I won't do things like that but had a feeling that you guys would do a fantastic job.. thumbs up
I received my D5 and I love it. Sizing the bracelet was hard because it was my first experience with a bracelet ever, but I watched a couple tutorials on UA-cam and bought an $8 kit on Amazon and it went ok. After 4 days it's +5 or +6 seconds a day and it's a joy to wear on both the bracelet and rubber. This rubber strap is a clear improvement over the one that comes with the C5 quartz because of the holes that let your wrist breathe!
Can't wait to get my hands on the D5 or D7. Haven't decided yet!!! I also just received my C5 Quartz and I'm obsessed. Simple things can be tastefully thought through and you guys kill it. Keep making great decisions, Vaer team! (also, LOVE supporting a fresh American brand)
Thanks for the video. I can appreciate what you're trying to do as a brand on these divers and your understanding of the watch enthusiast customer base. Sorely tempted by the D5 Arctic Diver.
I bought C5 model and bought another c5 model too. I really like it and they are always on my wrist. Even i’m not a diver watch fan, i wanna buy your diver model too. Cheer all your works bro.
Just bought the D7... cant wait to get it....and yes great video these guys hit the watch world hard and hope they rival Rolex and the other high price ones that do the same thing...Cool LA based int eh great State of Cali and Hollywood.
Thanks Richard, appreciate the comment and the support! We're excited for you to receive the watch in person, and please let us know your thoughts and comments once you have had a chance to give it some time on the wrist.
Very much enjoyed the video and now looking forward to October to receiving my dive watch. Also knowing the creators have their fingerprints on their creation. Very exciting and thank you Guys.
I love what you have done to the Atlantic. I was really hoping for the font of the bezel and the date ring to match, and the date ring to have a black background and it looks like you guys are delivering! I'm sure I'm not the only one who has loved watching the entire process along the way and I'm excited to see the end result.
Awesome, it’s clear you guys understand the watch community out there. I love all the details. How much of the overall thickness does the crystal take up? (In other words, how domed is the crystal)
We appreciate that Colin! We spend a lot of time trying to listen to and understanding the watch community, and we spend even more time learning about watch history. The crystal protrudes about 2mm out from the case.
when you buy one of these watches not only do you get a fantastic product... you're supporting a couple young American guys that are swinging for the fences on the front line of their passion... when you buy a Tag or something you're just adding to the billions the billionaire owners have. I'll vote with my money on these bros, and like everyone else, hope to see a full "MADE IN USA" someday on one (happy to pay more for it too). Let's fkn Go!
I’m new to the watch scene and for a few years now have been making an effort to buy American made/assembled goods. Vaer’s story and mission have made me into a proud customer! Just purchased a C5 Field black to start with (goodbye Apple Watch). Can’t wait to be able to pass these watches down to my kids once they’re older. Thanks to your whole team for what you do! Side note, other American goods I’m loving, System76 (CO), Origin Maine (ME) and State Optical (IL).
Hey- I’m a big fan of your watches. Deciding between the D5 and the D7 and I’m wondering if there is a big difference in the movements and how they keep time. Should I invest a little more and get the D7?
Great question! Both movements are honestly fantastic. They will come out of the box regulated to -5 / + 15 seconds per day, so same accuracy. The ETA 2824 has a higher build quality, so it will theoretically (likely) hold accuracy for a longer time, though we've seen watches Miyota movements keep incredible accuracy across time without issue. The ETA 2824 is really for the heritage and prestige (and it's by far the prettiest movement we offer).
@@VaerWatches This ETA movement is "elabore", not plain vanilla. It is prettier. The key functional distinction, as I understand it, is that the rotor on the ETA movement is bidirectional; whereas the Miyota rotor is unidirectional. This is not an entry level 8000 series Miyota movement. It is a step above that. Some people have considerations about the sound of the Miyota rotor. I have nothing to compare it to personally. I cannot hear it in my field mechanical. Servicing of either movement should not be a problem anywhere in the world. Both movements have comparable beat rates and power reserves. Will a bidirectional rotor charge up faster? I don't know! But, I am going to find out. Did you consider the Sellita 300 movement rather than the ETA 2824 elabore? Somebody at Swatch must like you. These ETA movements are not easy to source.
Ordered the Pacific on the initial pre-order...then I saw the gladiator hour hand on the Arctic on a later news release and had to get that one as well...Vaer is owning most of my watch collection space.
I dont think a watch doesn't need to big to be masculin. I own a 34 mm type a-11 used by the u.s. military in ww2 fighting the nazis and I think thats plenty masculin.
