Awesome video! Been following you for a little while now when I started planning on getting dreadlocks and yesterday I finally got them. Their not too far off the ones you've got so i'm excited to see how they'll turn out in the future :D
Are you considering getting them again? I'm curious how you took them out and if you regret it. I still love my locks so much and I don't see taking them out anytime soon. :) I just posted an update if you're interested.
My hair was the exact same length when I started my journey, but my starter locs are WAY shorter....like they barely touch my shoulders at the lowest ones 🤨 how are yours still so long when you started? Did you do extensions as well?
I didn't get extensions but they shrunk up quite a bit. Check out my most recent video to see how short they got. Shrinkage is real. :) ua-cam.com/video/vxgchwVcKag/v-deo.html
Do it! If you love it, go for it. I wish I would've locked my hair years before I did. Are the people you worry about close to you? If so, talk to them about what you want and see if they can understand. If they aren't close to you, screw them. You'll be happy and won't care. Haha.
Do u remember the name and address of location you went to get your dreads??? How much did it cost you and how long did it take to get them done??? I am trying to get my hair dreaded and i dont think the person i went to knew how to do it with my type of hair...
You kind of skipped the whole "journey" part of it all, no? Like you I had wanted mine for a really long time, perhaps it's where I lived but I had always seen one or two people with them when I was a toddler even. It fascinated me, what made you want them, what was the biggest factor in it for you?
G The Entity thanks for asking! Id love to include more about my "jouney" in a new video. I've wanted dreads for about 15 years but talked myself out of them for various reasons. Most recently it was because I worked in the corporate world and the people around me talked me out of it. So when I finally made the decision to do it, I run my own consultancy now, I didn't tell anyone expect those that needed to know. What was your friends and family's reaction to you getting dreads?
You definitely should sleep with your hair covered ( a gator or "face shield" work perfectly and will keep all the lint out of your dreads) so it doesn't get buildup locked in your dreads. Also the loctitian should have told you don't get your hair wet for a week or 2 at least to let your dreads mature enough
HVK NATION The point is a “how to” video, stated right in the TITLE, however typically in a “how to” video there’s actually a “how to” part, which is what was missing. So....what’s YOUR point?
The dreadlocks are terrible. Fluffy, sloppy, loops visible ... weaving natural dreadlocks for five hours - very quickly! Usually a whole day or two they are weaved on fine European hair ...
That's about the best set of baby-locks I've ever seen. Well done! 👍
Hey I’m going to be starting my dreadlock journey on July 14. I’m super excited and nervous at the same time. Can’t wait til they’re in. ☺️
Awesome result. I'm gonna have my hair locked in a couple of days and I'm so exited. Thanks for sharing
Thanks for sharing! I’ve always been curious of the loc process on straight hair. This was very fascinating.
I'm currently a month into locing my kinky hair but wondered how straight hair was done and it is oddly fascinating.
It's a processnthats for damn sure
This stylist has an amazing talent!!
I need to find this stylist she is amazing at sectioning 👍 perfect
Yes, Layla is the best. I still see her but not as often as I'd like. I just posted a one-year update video. ua-cam.com/video/vxgchwVcKag/v-deo.html

What was your washing routine? How often do you wash?
I am white and I want to lock myself in but I don't dare because I know that people will criticize me but I love this hairstyle

@@SarahThornburg Thank you for your advice you are right

I don't remember the exact amount. Check out Layla. I link to her IG in all of my dreadlock videos. She's awesome! instagram.com/laylaslocks/
How much does this cost to have done?
Depends down here it starts around $400 Louisiana, for straight hair girls, it takes HOURS.
What a beautiful set of baby dreads! Is there a reason that your hairstylist prefers the "fan" method over the "brick" method for sectioning?
She said she liked the look it provided when the dreadlocks laid down. It's technically a brick pattern I think.
Looks good
She did not finish the ends. A no for me.
I'm JERSEY need to get dreads hit me up

Eugene?! Where are you from? I'm from SW Oregon!
Very cool! I'm in Central Oregon. We don't have any locticians in this area. 😀
Legal
This looks terrible. These are not dreadlocks. It’s a tangled, matted mess.
😂😂😂😂😂

If something happens with the video, program a defect .. thank you very much see you soon
Bruh don’t wear a shower cap you have to clean your hair for it to loc up
The tips don't look good IMO
Not a good “how to” video AT ALL. Sorta wondering what the point was with this video. 😕
