I watched ur vid 2yrs ago to learn the rip & twist method as I have long straight hair. I started with 10 under & now hv 95% of my hair dreaded based on the rip & twist method along with crocheting. I hv done it all myself & will be celebrating 2yrs tomorrow on 4/20!!! It's so easy to do, time consuming , but totally worth it!!! I wish I would of known this 20 yes ago when my husband began his journey with dreads. I know share this knowledge with all who inquire. Thanks so much for helping me begin my local journey!!😁✌

I just got my dreads and i have straight hair! My hair was also not very long but i didnt wan t to wait lol I had a friend do them that knew how to crochet. They turned out pretty good, but I plan to add in extensions to give it a longer look, i think longer dreads just looks better in my opinion :). i super exited for my dread journey. And your 100% correct on the fizziness lol The frizz is always there but ive kind of gotten use to it. Im trying to learn how to backcomb/crochet dreads so that way I can make my own extensions rather than pay for someone to do them. Itll save me alot of money in the future also im a Cosmetology student so knowing how to do them will benefit me. But patients is definitely key. It's not as simple as it looks.

I started my lock journey after having open heart surgery at 41 yrs old. My hair thinned a lot so I wanted to do something that would add length & volume. I’ve watched every tutorial & video u have out along with about 20 others. You show detail & thats what I needed. It’s so hard to do them yourself. I’m an addict in recovery getting my life together one day at a time. I can’t really afford to pay someone to do them for me. What hair is the softest to use? I’m a redhead so it’s hard to find hair to match or blend well. Any tips are greatly appreciated!!! Thank u again!!!

I am 5 months into my dreadlock journey. I am doing the towel/freeform method. I wanted surfer type dreads so I like a freeform look where all of my dreads are different sizes and are not perfectly uniform. It is also pretty nice because this method does not require a ton of maintenance. My hair is 3b but along the hair line it is less curly so I did have to crochet hook those front ones. Anyways they are still forming and I still rub my head with a towel and use sea salt water from time to time.

I've been watching your videos and looking up more for a few months now. I started dreads in my hair a few months ago but I was struggling with keeping my root separate and not having a giants mat at the base so I started over. I have straight hair and I have them sectioned via rubber bands till I could find a solution. I love the style and want to continue it. Could you do a root maintenence tutorial on straight hair?

hi , I got very long straight hair, I will be growing like 30 cm (12 inches) longer (then will be above knees) , I am getting semi free forms, and now i am on day 3, hair starting to lock at places, so I where they lock I want to kind of separate those locking places ant put a rubber band, how should I separate on very long heavier hair to a proper size?? (to avoid thinning and other issues), so because my hair are already quite heavy, should a make the separations slightly bigger than usual ?? (to make sure the roots will hold a dread well and strong) , my hair pretty much grows more in to length and some baby hairs also, I will use some natural growth oil or growth serum to get more baby hairs and roll them into dreadlocks and that will cause stronger loc root.

Yea that’s what I was wondering, if you don’t want them no more, can you make all the hair back to normal or you have to cut it?

I'm a white boy but ever since I was a lil kid I always wanted Locs. I thought they wer a beautiful style of hair. I always saw the skater kids with Locs and the local tattoo artists but lately I haven't seen anyone with them.
