The brutes were pretty aggressive between the grenades and beserks but the elites were just a little bit better! :D As for future (H2) battles, I'm still eager to see some enforcer battles, some heretic battles, and maybe some boss battles :)

How about some fights with the Sentinels? We haven't seen much of them lately. Sentinels VS Marines Sentinels VS Drones Sentinels VS Flood (a classic) Hell, Sentinels VS Prometheans could work. The did appear (very briefly) in Halo 4.
As far as I know, the sentinels in Halo 4 don't have the ability to attack. They would just fly around. And they don't even have a proper death animation. If you were to shoot a sentinel is Halo 4, it would open a miniature portal and disappear. However, I am fully up for your previous ideas. Sentinels don't get much spotlight these days :/

Elites will always be more formidable. The only thing that ever scared me about Brutes was their berserker violence, which can be countered if using the right tactics. Elites were always challenging and for AI enemies, I always respected them. Like in Halo Reach, whenever faced with an Elite, I'd see them as a challenge but whenever Brutes dropped in, I would see them nothing more than a big joke.
I agree. Halo 3 made the Brutes even more of a joke by making them charge whenever you broke their shields... They just make it easier to get the last head shot in or get themselves punched in the face.

Nope. A lot of reasons actually. It isn't projectile speed, the player is literally weaker in health than a marine. Jackal Snipers have godly reaction speed, Elite Ultras just needed a nerf to shield strength and Zealots needed a buff both of which they got in Reach, Brutes are broken bullet sponges that have near infinite grenade throwing range, and Drones are annoying.
The battle starting at 0:28 made me think of Clone Troopers vs Battle Droids, where you have one side firing blue and the other firing red. When I get Halo 2: Vista, I want to see if I can make a campaign map where its two ships flying low over a planet at night, and you start aboard the ship where the crew uses Plasma Rifles, and the enemy ship uses Brute/Jiralhanae Plasma Rifles. Either that or a MP map like that. What do you think?
Well it is kind of fitting that a brute can slaughter like 5 elites while going berserk. The brutes are huge you cant really tell looking at them but they are easily 5-10x stronger than elites they can toss them around like dolls. I think the brutes are as strong as hunters.
Suggestion for next battle: Covenent armada (100+ battlecruisers with full complements of soldiers and fighters) against Earth Defense Grid (Orbital MAC guns, UNSC fleet). Suggest you create an interactive video where user can pan to different locations. Perhaps include character interaction so that the viewer can command troops into battle. Integrate RTS elements into video. Maybe develop some type of narrative to engage viewer. Cast some voice actors for key roles. Just some minor suggestions, but I think they would improve the action a little. Thanks for reading.

TheSchemer1 I know you may be all annoyed with me for being four days late, I'm sorry. It's traditional for higher ranking (Ultras and above) to have an e energy sword. It's a sign of Loyalty, Rank, Combat and Leadership. Brutes may be more ferocious than most Sangheili but several ranks and members of the Sangheili fleets are equal to a specific or an army worth of brutes. Brutes tend to hit civilised areas and places like cities due to their spikers rip human flesh and their 'brute' strength. Like I said, they tend to hit cities more whilst the Elites hit more Military targets such as the U.N.S.C. Both races or 'creatures' has different specialisations that cover each over. All species of the Covenant Fleet are capable of mass destruction if led by the right leaders, Officers etc.
It's pathetic how the Brutes won that plasma pistol fight. Elites wear a full suit of battle armor, with energy shields integrated into it. Brutes have nothing but a few metal plates and a helmet. I can see why the prophets replaced the elites.
Bungie didn't have enough time to balance the brutes properly, they had to make a serious last minute change to them that in the end totally buffed them.
Ryan Apperson The difference it would make (for the player) is negligible at best, due to enemies killing you so quickly on legendary, yet would make Brutes incredibly weak against ally Elites (who would also need to be nerfed .) I'm surprised people still talk about Brutes being broken in Halo 2 when Elites are just plain harder to kill on a case-by-case basis due to being harder to hit and resisting all headshot-capable weapons.
The elites only wear armor because they dont have very protective skin and plus brutes are very strong angry apes and the elites are trained soldiers while the brutes are guerrilla fighters hence the term brute and the brutes failed so elites are better
The biggest disadvantage for the elites in halo2 is that there ai apart from the spec ops elites weren’t programmed to throw grenades, but regardless the elites are superior in my opinion.
a little bit off topic but.... I have to say the best thing Halo 2 did about the Covenant gameplay wise wasn't adding the Brutes or Drones but rather making the Hunters an actual threat.
Now that I look back at this, I see some flaws in the matches. 1. Elites with fuel rod cannons vs Brutes with carbines was a mismatch 2. There should have been a round with elites with energy swords vs Brutes with shot guns 3. There should have been a round with elites with fuel rod guns vs Brutes with fuel rod guns 4. There should have been a round with elites with needlers vs Brutes with shot guns

Try to do some type of Chess scenario if possible, were the Elites against Brutes, but the brutes have a Prophet of Regret and the Elites need to kill it as the Brutes need to kill, say the Shipmaster or so. Who ever kills who's "king" first wins the round. Each round you can kind of mix it up with the ranks/positions of each side with weapons, or even mix up the races together kind of like how in the end the Hunters were with the Elites and some Grunts, while the Jackals and Drones were with the Brutes. Edit: Obviously you can't choose for them to all have a main target "at least I believe limited to moding" but it would be sort of off luck which side kills who first or who wipes out who first.

Zomz Cheezy Sentinels fight Hunters at one point in the main Halo 4 campaign, and they later fight Prometheans in Spartan Ops.

I was surprised the elites did so well. Brutes are unbalanced in Halo 2 and thus are overpowered, and you can't even headshot the honor guards.

it is unwise to use explosives such as grenades when so close to your allies and enemies (yes they used fuel rod guns but that was all they had)

I'm surprised people still talk about Brutes being broken in Halo 2 when Elites are just plain harder to kill on a case-by-case basis due to being harder to hit and resisting all headshot-capable weapons.
The elites only wear armor because they dont have very protective skin and plus brutes are very strong angry apes and the elites are trained soldiers while the brutes are guerrilla fighters hence the term brute and the brutes failed so elites are better
Plasma pistols are made to take down energy shields, but they have never done good damage to healt, since halo 1.
This is like energy sword elites vs brute chieftains without the gravity hammers.

The biggest disadvantage for the elites in halo2 is that there ai apart from the spec ops elites weren’t programmed to throw grenades, but regardless the elites are superior in my opinion.

Well these are surprising results to say the least. As tough as it was to kill brutes in H2, it’s weird they beat the elites just by tanking shots.

For some reason I laugh really fucking hard when the elites say "HE IS DEAD," maybe it's the tone of voice.
So that's why the Brutes stopped using their own Plasma Rifles and started using the Elite ones by the events of Halo 3.
The only times the brutes won were from plasma grenades, like the plasma pistol fight, and when they lost it was just even more humiliating.

a little bit off topic but.... I have to say the best thing Halo 2 did about the Covenant gameplay wise wasn't adding the Brutes or Drones but rather making the Hunters an actual threat.

Now that I look back at this, I see some flaws in the matches.
1. Elites with fuel rod cannons vs Brutes with carbines was a mismatch
2. There should have been a round with elites with energy swords vs Brutes with shot guns
3. There should have been a round with elites with fuel rod guns vs Brutes with fuel rod guns
4. There should have been a round with elites with needlers vs Brutes with shot guns
I don't think brutes can use fuel rod guns in Halo 2 but i do agree. The lack of shotgun Brutes was underwhelming

Try to do some type of Chess scenario if possible, were the Elites against Brutes, but the brutes have a Prophet of Regret and the Elites need to kill it as the Brutes need to kill, say the Shipmaster or so. Who ever kills who's "king" first wins the round. Each round you can kind of mix it up with the ranks/positions of each side with weapons, or even mix up the races together kind of like how in the end the Hunters were with the Elites and some Grunts, while the Jackals and Drones were with the Brutes.
Edit: Obviously you can't choose for them to all have a main target "at least I believe limited to moding" but it would be sort of off luck which side kills who first or who wipes out who first.
