And for wizards, we have a hint : the Dark Wizard IS a Istar said Tom Bombadil ( there was a theory about the Witch-King of Angmar) It can be only 2 options : Saruman or a Blue Wizard (Palando or Alatar) If it s like in the books, the Stranger and The Dark Wizard can only be Blue Wizards because Gandalf and Saruman come in Middle Earth in the Third Age. And it can make sense because these blue wizards take action in the East in the books, in Rhun ! (and we don't know a lot about it because Tolkien didn't write a lot about them, but he wrote that maybe they initiate some cults and mystic traditions, it makes sense with the Dark Wizard here !). Maybe they decided to use Blue Wizards because the lack of writings on them permit to Amazon to create some interestings stories ? clever if it's that In the other hand we have a LOT of clues that indicate the Stranger as Gandalf. And it makes no sense at all like you said that Saruman is the Dark Wizard because he is GOOD, he is corrupt only during the Ring War in Lord Of The Rings events Maybe it is a mix like they used the lore of the Blue Wizards and they took Gandalf and Saruman characters because the audience know them. Or maybe the Stranger is Gandalf and they just use one Blue Wizard for the Dark Wizard To be honest, the fact that the Stranger is Gandalf i don't care at all because it brings a lot with the Harfoot point of view and it's cool to bring that but the Dark Wizard as Saruman, meh. I hope it''s not haha, don't make sense. If they use him just because the audience will recognize his name, it is fan service and quite boring. If it is him, I hope they'll do something with the character
It would make a lot of sense if they are perhaps combining the characters of the Blue Wizards and Gandalf and Saruman. I feel like that is something Amazon would do and take creative liberty with. I think the Gandalf storyline has been great and very smart the way they've utilized him in S1 and 2 so far, however I find the idea of Saruman being around here less appealing because he is seemingly evil now. I don't understand how to rectify that with the canon, whereas everything with Gandalf seemingly can be and makes sense to me. I'm sure we'll get some answers this season.
Tom Bombadil has a wife : Goldberry, the River-Daughter :) and she has as much mystery as her husband in the lore :p It is her but why is he mysterious about it idk haha
@@AgX_28 the show gets insane hate. Its just RW bullshit. I enjoyed it dont get me wrong i just felt it slowed the story down. But maybe itll payoff later. I like numenor plot, its more how does something so high fall so quickly.
ya it was all over the place. they introduced the ents, tom and the barrow wights in the same ep so we got some really weird episode where they couldn't focus on one story. PLUS them showing the rhun ninjas closing in on Tom's house and the dark wizard supposedly went with them to deal with the stranger but they didn't follow up on it. i can't believe they gave uis this shit after the first 3 ep which i loved btw
@@josargor8179 I think every episode has had multiple storylines that don't get resolved and don't follow up on until the next episode, so I don't see any issue with this episode being somehow different in a bad way. But yes, they did introduce 3 major things (the barrow-wights, ents and Bombadil) in one episode which is a huge leap, and I think only Bombadil had the appropriate grandeur
@Carlosbbbbb1 Why does everything have to be purely political? I'm not leftist / Liberal (whatever beliefs those involved hold) and I dislike that brand of politics. But aside from that and just taking the show as it is, it doesn't work. Anyone who's not been brainwashed can see that.
You're right! I am easily pleased! And while I haven't read the Silmarillion, I understand that this show deviates from that for reasons to do with the rights. I have read the Appendices though, and I feel like this is fairly faithful (so far) to Tolkien's writing, in a similar way to the LOTR Trilogy - still taking creative liberties, but in the same spirit as the original.
As someone whos read the Silmarillion 6 times over, to say this has no resemblence is just pure hate. It does a good job imo and I am enjoying this season so far. I don't know why people are just so matter of fact with the denouncement of the show! Enjoyed the reaction, keep staying positive and enjoying it.
@WarWolfeX Some of the characters and events are there, sure. The timeline is just completely jumbled. As for the hate bit; Yes, I hate the political beliefs that the actors and creators hold (pure garbage) and calling something hate when it's just an opinion on the quality of the show is pretty short sighted. Personally, I would have liked to have seen the show work, as I think the first or second ages are stories worth telling, but the show doesn't work.
It was good episode
Agreed!
That was a great episode!

Oooo that's amazing! It makes me very intrigued, even if it's just a small easter egg
poppy and nobody gonna make smeagol's ancestors
Oh my gosh 😂
This episode could have been a lot better. However I really like the fight scene with Galadriel
That's a fair criticism, but yes that fight scene at the end was phenomenal!
Id say weakest of the episodes but really fun if you know lore and some sayings. 7 for me but the other episodes have really been great.
imo looks better than episode 3 (mostly because of the Numenor plotline and all that Ar-Pharazon scene that was very weird to watch) its 6.3 on imdb.

You're easily pleased! That looked dreadful 😂 It bears no resemblance to tolkien's lore whatsoever.

Lots seem to think they can do better or just like to be miserable
