This was such an emotional episode! Not just because of the storyline, but seeing Tom!!!! He looked and sounded and acted exactly how Tom would! Casting hit it out of the park with this one! And the Ents... the Entwife!! It was so sweet and sad. AND the Harfoots meeting the Stoors! And the Barrow Wights! So good! This has been my favorite episode so far!
I too enjoyed those episode for tom. I would however have 1 tiny gripe with him... he's westcountry, as am I, although accentless... no one with that accent would pronounce istar correctly he'd be calling them eeeeestarrrrrrr
@@freddymaldonado2365 The way these Ents are built, the way they move... amazing! I'm trying to find good screen shots of the Barrow Wights, they looked fantastic! So rich.
That was the one of the best episodes of the entire series IMO. Every plot thread present was captivating and the story really started to breathe. I'm absolutely loving this show. I got pretty emotional when Arondir started speaking to the Entwife in Sindarin. Then, Bear's score started to soar and the tears just started flowing. I just love the Ents and what they stand for. They are the guardians of the forests, their mother is Yavanna, one of the Valar. She begged Eru Ilúvatar to create them so as to protect the forests from Dwarves (her husband Aulë's creations), Men and Orcs. Elves always held the forests dear. They even taught the trees to speak. Loving all of the creatures and REALLY liked the Barrow Wights. Loving the new powers we saw Galadriel wield while bearing Nenya, her Ring of Power. That was a clever move surrendering her ring to Elrond. Nenya shouldn't be worn by any other person in the story though. Middle-Earth really is a magical place 💚🤩🥹
Some people just have hate boners, and I'm really enjoying it, but I agree about the basic writing. There's way too many instances in which I can guess what the next line will be, because it's set up and delivered in such an elementary and predictable manner. I am enjoying the opportunity to see more of Middle Earth and elements omitted from the LOTR films. But the script is still weak 😅
Idk who in their right mind thinks these wizards are gandalf and saruman. The writers have established clearly they are aware of the events that happen in the second age. There is clearly two wizards here. There is only two istar that arrive in the second age, and they made that crystal clear in this episode with what Tom bombadil says. Noone in their right mind would 1, rewrite the "blue" wizards to gandalf and saruman, and 2, they would never recast two characters that are already beloved and established in the movies. There's literally 0% chance saruman or gandalf are going to be in this show. The showrunners stated they don't want to be bogged by the high standards the movies created. Because noone other than Peter Jackson can do that, it was completely unique to him.
Overall opinion: *The Harfoots have become far more interesting with their promised land search. *Bear McCreary’s wife as Goldberry in a pot was awesome-hilarious. *Tom Bombadil was perfect. I believe his book-cartoonishness can never be translated well outside of animation and therefore MUST be made a bit more normal. He also follows Tolkien’s ideas of him having traveled widely in the past, and perhaps had his own hero journey (though the show doesn’t go that far with him). *Theo getting out of prison and being made a leader feels like Sauron’s arc last season…which makes me wonder whether it’s perfectly paralleling that, or purposely inverting it - either way a very badly written rewrite from Nazanin Boniadi’s departure *Isildur’s “will they-won’t they” is probably pulling people through to the next episode. *Galadriel giving up her ring sets up what will happen when the one ring is made, and might even be setting up for Sauron putting down his ring to keep it safe. *Elrond being promoted to commander happens just in time and very realistically, while also leaving him feeling green and book smart. *Galadriel being demoted is hilarious. (After I’ve heard the showrunners say they will be utilizing Morfydd Clark’s comedic side, I am now highly tuned to when or where that might happen.) *The most interesting thought that came to my mind while reviewing this episode is that the eastern riders may eventually split to become the Rohirrim and the Variags. There were many cheesy moments, this episode than any other, but that just means more memes for us to use. 😝
Not sure who I like better, Momma Stoor (who's hilarious the way she talks to her boy) or the adorable goat! The chemistry between Galadriel and Elrond is making me super uncomfortable. Why can't they be friends again? I do appreciate how much you're enjoying this for what it is: more content in middle earth. I'm tired of the hate its getting just for clicks.
Thank you my friend! I’m always just going to be real. That’s why I started doing this in the first place. Although, I didn’t anticipate that I’d be crying on camera as much as I am 😂😂😂😂
@@cush6827 So you really just think anyone with an opinion other than yours is paid by a giant corporation?? 😂 The sheer entitlement man. Get off the internet. You need fresh air.
@@JonesVibes it is not about differing opinion. it is about your opinion ignoring all the obvious problems with this product that everybody else sees, especially when referencing what Tolkien wrote.
Everybody else sees? Maybe in your feed. Most algorithms are designed to show you things you’re interested in and you’re clearly interested in hating it. Outside of that, the show is actually doing and being received pretty dang well. BUT since you’re saying there are obvious problems- let’s hear it! What are they? Start with episode 1.
@@JonesVibes The show is bad. Hence the poor performance. Two thirds did not watch season 1 to the end, and season 2 has lost half of viewer numbers versus season 1. Ratings everywhere are abysmal, except where Amazon manages to manipulate either the rating mechanism or the display of entered ratings. The show has nothing to do with Tolkien. Everything is exactly against what Tolkien wrote, and it is internally inconsistent. The acting is atrocious, the pacing is terrible, and the sets are hit and miss. Maybe you are too young or too unexperienced to properly examine what you see.
@cush6827 lol, ridiculous answers. "Because people say it's bad so I do too". For one thing it legally HAS to differ from the books. The Tolkien estate openly hated the P.J films and refused to sell the rights to the silmarillion to anyone. So the writers are having to be creative with what's available in the appendices and change anything that is only in the silmarillion. To just dislike it because its different is immature. The books in their perfect order still exist, go read and enjoy them. But people not enjoying something, especially something artistic doesn't mean other people can't enjoy it. I found the mandolorian to be painfully boring and that's very well reviewed. But I wouldn't wast my lif going onto UA-cam and telling people it's bad.

@@wanderingseth I would've agreed with you on this one about Season 1, but Season 2 is absolutely fine script-wise. But that's just my opinion. :>
Smeegol and Deegol were Stoors. They're known as the river folk.
Stranger is definitely not gandalf but a blue wizard
Gandalf the blue

The tree scene was a little disturbing, I have to say. It reminded me of Mandrake from 'Epic' and Hallie from 'Slenderman (2018)'.
❤❤❤❤❤❤
Elrond is kinda annoying tbh…already lost an elf 😅
I enjoyed seeing the wraiths more than Tom Bombadil. He looked and sounded like Walmart Hagrid.

I hope Galandriel will be okay.
