the animal crossing series has got to be one of my favorites right now. it's just so peaceful to see how Sconion is naturally progressing and how Therm is discovering the game a little bit at a time

I'm still trying to catch them, and I've been playing off and on for almost a whole year
I remember getting the WORST heart attack cus I saw one and I thought it was like a pine cone or something cus I was playing in fall 😭
@@serendipitylove3930 well if you’re struggling to catch em I got a strategy. So you gotta go creep up on it, but when they do that thing to try to attack you, stop until it relaxes again. Rinse and repeat until you’re close enough to catch it. It’ll take a few tries but you’ll eventually get it

@@serendipitylove3930I caught them my first time playing after watching a lot of others do it lol. It’s hard and my patience was slim, but I got it. Guess it also helps that I played other AC games before NH, so I was used to the “move a little at a time” concept when it came to rare bugs😂

@@ilexdiapason I played Wild World until my DS broke down when I was a child. I didn’t own another Nintendo console until I bought the Switch Light, just for Animal Crossing: New Horizons, so I have no experience with the games in between. But still, this franchise is awesome. New Horizons was a whole new game, but it carried so much nostalgia from Wild World, because the basic principles never changed. I haven’t played in a loooooong while, but I feel like I want to pick up my Switch again. Thanks to Therm‘s videos.
I got blue wildflowers and I dont know how but it's taken months of not thinking about them and I'm just letting them flourish. Lol eventually I plan to breed flowers.
Flowers... Out... Of... Control!!! Have heard there's a service where they'll come clear out the overgrowth of flowers, but it would be too hard to direct what to take and what to leave. But it's so bad for us, we carry a trash can in our pockets, and dig up flowers and trash them to save trips trying to sell them at Nook's. Wish we'd taken more proactive role sooner.
yes my island is like 80% floral overgrowth 😭 at first i was like “i’m sure planting 10 flowers around should be fine” then they multiplied by 5 💀

Often you tend to grow attached to villagers that are on your island simply because you're used to them, like Annalisa and patty for me.
Agreed, tbh it gets tiring fast to see islands with mostly popular villagers to me now. Back when I played older AC games I loved all my villagers with 0 influence from the internet so it's nice to see a pure live reaction of a new AC player like this lol.
I got the same thing he first time I played a Pokémon game (Diamond) I got so attached to the first few pokes I caught and didn’t care as much about the “cool” ones. Budew is my fave poke to this day, and I will always love Kricketot and Bibarel and Chatot.
I love getting a new villager who I think isn’t going to be anything special based on the design, but then I grow to love them

I can’t believe you got two of my villagers in a row, Skye and Claudia 😭❤️ they’re such sweethearts! Skye is a constant anxious mess and loves sewing supplies!
I also have Skye. She used to be my 2nd favorite villager until Ione came along. Now Skye is my 3rd favorite.

I definitely agree about avoiding cliff and water construction. I tried it on my first island and I regretted it so much! The only time I use it now is if I need to change one or two tiles to fit in a bridge or incline where I want.
The fact that therm came across so many high-value villagers and refused to invite them as crazy! At the very least, invite them then sell them off immediately for even more ticket/bells. Heck I bet you could’ve traded Ankha or Shino for Punchy directly.

It's so refreshing to watch someone else who's a newbie to AC play! I'd never even heard of the games until 2020, but I didn't buy it until summer bc I always wait to see how everyone reacts to a game first. I ended up feeling very behind compared to everyone else, playing catch up constantly and getting burned out. Watching Therm play mostly blind makes me want to pick it up again and maybe only spend an hour a day or something. Thanks for the fun content! 😊
Dobie is one of my favorite villagers, the old cryptid!! Also I am so happy that you are going off of first appearances and vibes for picking your favorite villagers. There are so many villagers that if you are not 100% completely sold on yours and they ask to move, just go with it. Some of the weirdest looking villagers are actually the funniest.

This got me back to rebuilding my flattened island. It’s been so long since I’ve played as someone who went too hard for the first year. I have over 700 hours in the game and my island is a mess of hybrids and weeds and villagers rn. I felt so overwhelmed by my own pressure to make something spectacular and unique and I feel inspired again to just do what feels good for my own little island. Thanks therm
