Sounds like every review of all other bows that come out every year. Smooth draw, holds on target, little to no hand shock. God, the same review every year, every manufacturer.
someone you know I read about older hunters talk about how much innovation has gotten the compound bows of the 80s to where we are today. How much further can technology go with these bows? Speeds really haven’t gone up. I’m beginning to think the tech has peaked. All of the differences on bows today are less performance and more preference. Just a thought.
@@hunterlawrence7228 I know how much innovation has gone into bows. I killed my first deer with a Martin cougar or bobcat. Can't remember what it was exactly. But it was 25 years old give or take.
someone you know what I mean is, how much different will technology allow these bows change from year to year now? I’m not seeing really any changes at all. I don’t fault manufacturers from not trying; rather, I just don’t think we will see any true improvements for a while.
If we continue to pay over a grand for new bows. Those attributes you listed should continue to stay true. I can attest that this bow truly is amazing but we sure are paying for the excellence.
I like this bow has very much! At one time I had 5 Matthews and was shooting 3D circuit. But I switched over to shooting traditional and have done pretty well. I still have my mint condition Mathews q2xl hanging on the wall with quiver. Took a couple deer with it and shot it in a lot of tournaments but this bow might make me start shooting compound again.
Trey Sutton I hope so the blend of accuracy and power are second to none if it ain’t broke don’t fix it all bow company’s are doing the same thing wouldn’t hurt my feelings if they made a new bow every five years
Jason Barnes I totally agree I actually think the industry is in limbo right now, like there was such a big jump in technology over the last few years I don’t think the engineers can really do much
Yeah I agree I mean I shoot my vertix from zero to 40 with one pin no judging yardage required it’s almost getting to easy I do like the green though sharp
Can you tell me why when i came to your star to get draw length adjusted on me vxr in february because I had a shoot the next guy at the outdoor show i was told we dont spend time on that unless your buying something from one of the older guyd
aKu_SneakySnake TTV they went past parallel so they could have the long riser and still keep ata around 30 inches which is what the majority of there customers buy all the bows with Crosscentric cams have parallel limbs
Matt McPherson has publicly said that Mathews will never build a carbon bow. It'd be interesting to see a carbon Mathews bow but that probably won't happen until after McPherson kicks the bucket.
@Rusty Shackleford I think McPherson's reasoning is that carbon doesn't reduce noise and vibration as well as aluminum with added dampening does. It's a lot like firearms, a light rifle shooting a heavy caliber gets more recoil than a heavy gun shooting a light caliber.
31 or 28 ??? I’m just starting to shoot again , all my stuff is dinosaurs compared to this ,, I have a switchback . Might do a little hunting but want more target ...
I'm definitely interested in the 28".. I was hoping hoyt was gonna do something dramatic for 2020. I do like the number 2 cam idea from Hoyt. And the mod system here with Mathews. I have a rx1 and the 32in is to much in the woods
Really? I guess I'll have to try a newer bow in the woods before I make a judgement. I've been using a 33" ATA bow that is a decade old, and I've been getting animals every season with it. What are the problems you are having?
@@IIDASHII I'm a shorter fat guy lol.. I went from a 28 inch fx spider to the rx1 32.. I killed with it too but I messed up with it with my climber this yr. A shorter bow fits me better. What fits you might not fit and work for the rest of us.

Jeremy Landphier the switch weight system changes too much in the geometry of the cam. It makes it not as precise as the target line so they won’t have that technology in the target bows
Close to 4.5 pounds though, holding that bow at full draw, for any length of time will be a challenge for most guys.you haven't tried to carry it but only for a few minutes, let alone hours up n down mountains
Good looking bow...I hate the idea of mods...makes selling a pain..and after a couple years gooa search for them. Also dont like swept forward limb pockets. You can see it torque or wiggle left and right when it hits the wall...reminds me of the way z7s easily torqued. Swept forward really makes for a torquing bow..I do like the riser though. Hopefully strong angle is better..last few bows you couldn't put the peep very high without running out of room..only bows that I can think of ever did that..annoying...great color...looks comfy...I like the speeds as well.
Bought a traverse last year, probably would of bought a traverse this year as well. Same as last year but incorporating their old technology the old geo grid risers like on the Z series.
Did you look at the bow I saw no gridlock on the riser the traverse is a nice bow but I bought the vertix because of the swithwiegt mods and the 80% letoff option this year I can have a longer ata with the switch weight mods just what I was hoping for
Well no shit, VXR stands for “Vertix Extended Riser” but instead of the “E” they just put an “X” for “extended” But it being extended and extra bridged makes a GIANT difference on how it holds and how it shoots. So once you shoot it you’ll realize. I bought it.
I think I’ve figured it out. Create the Vertix, then make it a little longer and a little shorter and give it a new name and watch the public lick it up. Dear bow makers it’s ok to not make another ‘FLAGSHIP’ each year and instead do something different. If this bow would have been 4.0 pounds or less then I might raise an eyebrow. Or how about this, make this bow 75-80 pounds without the switch weight so we can really run the poundage up and get some more speed.
Boxing 101 I’ve owned more bows than a lot of pro shops. I was making the point that the changes are in fact not huge and I ain’t saying anything countless others have said as well. No need to be a dick either. Geez you’re fanboy status is screaming loud and clear. FYI, I’ve already built out my VXR and I’m placing the order next week when I can get to my archery tech so I’m not anti Mathews
Nothing wrong with Mathews, but they sure are starting to seem pretty low-tech compared to other brands. At least compared to Elite and Bowtech with regards to tuneability. Kind of wish all the mfgs would stop the race to launch a “new” bow every year and instead wait until they have more meaningful technology advances.
The silent connect system is a cool idea, this feature will be convenient for hunting season. this bow looks like it will make a great tree stand bow.

0:54 "Draw Lenghts" good job tech guy
what are you talking about that was exactly what he was supposed to say
The Traverse is and absolutely sweet shooting bow and very stable.. don’t let his necessary product statements deter you If you are considering.
Thanks for putting out these videos, it is appreciated immensely!
Thanks for the positivity :)
I’m still shooting my halon 32 and loving it
Love mine in 2022!!!
I was hoping for a little more than a different ATA Vertix
It’s like taking your camaro and putting in new bucket seats, new tires and alignment. Yeah it’s close to the old bow but way better.
Does the VXR hold better than the Traverse. Was going to get a Traverse for the longer ata but its a hard decision now.
I’m wanting this bow even more now after watching this video
Right
What is a good referred weight of my arrow for this bow
How is the draw cycle compared to traverse?
So......a vertix with an attachment for a sling.
If you look at it that way well then a halon x is same as a traverse. And the vertix is the same as a triax the t r x 40 is same as t r x 36.
Yes pretty much
Is the v x r 28 the same bow as a triax?
J Crocker yes exactly the same
@@Boxing-lc1oi in what way ate they the same?
When will you be able to mail order this bow ?
Can't mail order the hunting bows. Those must be bought in person from a Mathews dealer.

Still shooting and still killing deer with the old Z7 Extreme but think I might upgrade..what's the MSRP?
I was told 1199 by a local proshop as a bare bow
Your going to be upgrading from a datsun to a Ferrari
Since they are maxed out at this current point they need to just make the BOW that the public wants.
Carbon fiber Creed XS for me

is the 31.5 as smooth as the 28. some one said the 28 was smoother how could that be, do you know which is smoother ?
Maybe they should make there TRX line have the switch weight system as well , a little more realistic to go from indoor to 3d IMO !
