I purchased both the medium ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxfh2XUOHWYHKQYOvSq2gZ6PyCmVkTFGWz and small speed bags from Meister. I'm very glad I got both as the workout is quite different from the two. The small is fantastic for getting your speed built up once familiar with your striking. The medium bag provides a considerable amount more resistance building more strength in your punches. I highly recommend both sizes. Some people have expressed concern over the latex bladder leaking down more frequently than the traditional rubber. I have not found this to be an issue at all.
@@countryboyboxing501 If doing it for ten minutes a day gives me a 10% improvement over 30 days... Then doing for 100 minutes a day should give me an improvement of over 100% in 30 days.
Good job on the video of your progression of speed bag skill. I am about 60 years old and I have just started learning the speed bag. Lots of fun, Thanks for the vid.
My grandson is a mixed martial artist and makes the speed bag sound like an instrument so at the age of 74 I started hitting the bag .That was 3 years ago and I love it. Hell I even started doing light weight training.
Edit: I built mine about a couple of weeks after I posted that first comment and love it. I still use it about 3 or 4x a week. I was an amateur boxer years ago so I already knew the basics, but for tricks and better flow I've learned tons from Jeff Thrasher. Check out his channel if you haven't already seen it. Hes a fantastic instructor.
Amazing!!! Love Your Speed Bag Platform. Are You still doing the Speed Bag? If Yes. Can You share how You are 5 years later? Again. AMAZING VIDEO! Good for You. God Bless.
It was very entertaining watching your progress. I love the speed bag. I found from watching a Pacquiao video that if I hit the speed bag over my head I can achieve a faster rythym, I can feel a strong breeze coming from the speed bag, then I just raise my head up right and continue the fast rythym. It worked for me but not sure if other people would get same results.
You improved about 99.9%. You know you did., quit being so modest. Great job Man. Are you fighting in the ring now? If so would like to see a video of your best fight. I’m 72yo & can’t compete now but use to do a little club fighting. We made $200 for a win & $50 to the looser. Didn’t make much money but got to be friends with a lot of real men. Only got knocked out 1time, but it was by a heavy weight & I was a middle weight. I was winning the fight till he landed 1 punch. He was 1 of George Formans sparing partners. Can’t except your challenge cause I’m about as good as I’ll ever get. Good job buddy
Nice, keep it up!. Pretty good hand speed on your fist roll! Curious if you have any neighbors? Lol. Sounds like it echoes through the whole valley lol
Looking great young man. Keep your thumbs tucked in nice and tight or your going to end up breaking your thumbs in a street fight. That can be a painful bad habit. Try using some hand wraps or RDX gloves with the pads over the knuckles. You can pick them up on Amazon for 15 bucks . But can help you keep your thumbs in tight. And make sure you are at a good distance where you get good extension in your punches . If you're to close you will develop a bad habit of bending your wrist and that could be bad in a real fight. You want to be hitting the bag with your fist and not the side of it unless you are practicing block then punch rhythm. Hope this helps. I just started doing this again three months ago. But I boxed when I was 12 till about 18 and every day back then. Till just recently it had been 22 years so a little rusty but just like riding a bike. The next day no problem. Definitely not as fast as I was in my teenage years. But not bad for my early 40s . But I have a teenage daughter so I thought it would be a great idea to develop some speed just incase if you no what I mean. Anyway good luck to you. Bag work is a lot of fun and a good tool to develop hand speed. And remember your power shots come from your legs and hip movements that is what the heavy bag is for. Speed bag is for hand speed now that you got your timing down don't forget to breathe thru your nose and move your feet while your punching
Great job... Play music while you hit the bag. It will help you work on basic repetitive TIMING. Also listing to music is like boxing 1 round , You hit well, but you need to last longer, slow the punching down to get in the most shots before you have to take a breather... Best of luck
Country Boy Boxing I have got a speed ball shackle what the ball fixes to I just need to get some wood to make the speed ball platform 😀🥊 I will layer the wood up like you have done 😀🥊
Amazing my friend . Some People don't understand the benefit of hitting, its a great shoulder exercise, improves hand eye coordination as well as timing . Add some foot work to your sessions and move around with the bag in hits . Also add more trap techniques and use the bag to practice, slipping ducking dodging and countering . Great job buddy 👏
nice progression on the circle punches. need some work on the straight punch. try nothing but straight punches and see if you can progress with those as well. remember the straight punch lands the first two fingers (pointer and middle) on the bag.
I am on Day 2. I loved how u made progress and the way u made this Video... This is what i call a real Transformation not those fake 30day challenge and Transformation tht we are often mislead into. I saw this video 2day for the 1st time👍🏻 so, i will definitely take this challenge. Thanks for this Motivational video m8👍🏻 i really appreciate it
Excellent job man! Beautiful rhythm, great speed. Nice drum too. Did you just screw the swivel in, or do you have bolts going all the way through? Also what is the swivel your using?
Great video. I’m day 2. It’d be cool if I was as quick as you at the end of 31. Quick question for anyone. I have a medium sized cheap ass ever last bag with a plastic swivel ball. The bag seems lopsided and it can be a challenge to hit. Like I said, today is day two and I can’t tell if the issue is more the bag vs the hitter, but when I strike it more firm, it works well enough. Are most bags somewhat lopsided? As small as the bag seems, it seems to play enough of a role that has me looking at a new bag. I bough the set up used and am loving it.
Number 1: FANTASTIC job!!! Number 2: Wrap your hands (just in case). Number 3: Do a 30 day challenge of “trapping” the speed bag. Seriously, search it on UA-cam. There is one guy from Texas who does an absolute beautiful demonstration. It is hard, but a really good workout. Keep up the hard work!! Oh yeah, you’ll never lose the timing. It’s like riding a bike. Once you learn how, you never lose it. Well, unless you suffer massive brain trauma. So don’t let that happen.
Hey man, like the vid! I have a double end bag that I LOVE and a heavy bag. Thought about getting a a speed bag , is it worth it? I’m just worry about the noise as this will be in my garage and I work out at 4am, don’t want to wake the neighbors
Nice. I also am a Chainlink fan and made my own platform, I havent hit in about 12 years due to living conditions, got her all up yesterday, and also ordered a new speedbag, a meister, and I have that title bag its a nice little bag, I had a few bags actually I forgot that I had . but the ones I like to hit there is not alot of life in anymore, aand a rat got my Cleto !!! only my cleto though so im lucky that way
Bro if y’all haven’t yet should’ve definitely done another one make it half the days maybe even and get to where your learning different Rhythms get them beats goin 😂 definitely killin it at the end good shit pimpin
If u dont mind me asking how tall r u becuz im 14 years old and 5’4 so they say the bottom of the bag should be at ur chin so i just wanna know how high should i keep it

I just started the bag about a week ago 10 mins a day minimum and I already can see a difference

How is it fixed to the ceiling? Think of installing one on the beam in my shed but most I've seen online are all wall mounted.
Damn broo you hitting that like Paquio in last part of the video😂
