I think your guitar channel is the most complete, musically innovative, and intelligent one currently on UA-cam. I honestly thought early on that you were someone who just put your head down and let genius level music just flow out of you, and shut up about it. These little talkie ones you drop periodically have absolutely changed that earlier perception of mine, and they perfectly augment the incredible music making ones. I love my NightSky btw. I am excited to be able to find a place for a Meraki on my rig when I can walk properly again after effing hernia surgery yesterday. And then back to creating! This entire video was incredible. The music and the mind boggling possibilities these device beg users to explore…

@@SpiralCasterPlaysPedals A lot of channels, for me, lack that little extra intellectual component. Usually Muso/Chops-centric, and that can be great, too. I hear great and often funny ideas over on the JHS page, Emily the Harpist, a newer "kid" who plays a little more in my vein, kind of moody, evocative jams, hopefully with real musical purpose driving them. I love to play different art forms off of each other, and actually believe that visual stuff, writing, the physical/spiritual aspects of life enhance my overall experience with making music. I do something different than what I see you doing (guitars fighting vocals inside soundscapes all fighting for space in the never ending drama that is my existence😀), but what I gain from watching your videos is an overall sense of depth and diversity in all of your musical ideas. I direct my best friend to watch your videos because he also relates to honestly come by innovation with a heartbeat driving the engine being the ultimate focus. It is hard to convey all of the different states of being and the range of emotions music is capable of doing, and those are the artists I am usually most blown away by. Too many artists to cite here that do just that, but you know what I mean. We have probably listened to some very similar artists, and as someone who also teaches (or sometimes tries to!) they are the ones I learn the most from. Stuff that is so good it is pointless to do anything other that take it in, discover it, sometimes even unknowingly steal from it. I hear all of that in what you play, and it is made clearer still when you speak about it. I love working on my own thing so much, but I also hope to find the time and energy in my life to figure out more ways to extend that to other places and people, performance and studio wise. Bands are a pain in the butt and groin but I miss not being in one. I guess that makes me an introverted extrovert, but it somehow manages to work for me here and there. I think you have the whole Dionysian/Apollonian aspects of music at your disposal. The arty and the crafty gotta work together, somehow, or I think it can be a bit limited. No effing limits, ok?😅 Amazing work, my friend.

Congrats! i didn’t know the fever-pitch . now i do, and it is definitely going on my “i’m gonna get that”, list. i am not the greatest fan of the touch ‘knobs’, instead of a good old potentiometer, but you gotta have a convolution reverb in there, and the Poliverb is brilliant, imo. One of my Fav pedals. And i really love the MXR Layers pedal. The Keeley Halo too. ;) What about a Looper pedal.. ? Have you got a top 3 ?

I’m inclined to agree in general re: pedals getting better (chase bliss one such shining example) but some legacy meat & potatoes circuits have carved out their niche and remain undefeated for me. Crybaby. Uni vibe. Deluxe Memory Man. Rat. Harmonic Percolator. Pick from the dozens of Tone Bender and Muff offerings and my own list is already half full 😅 The utility pedals have improved beyond measure. Free The Tone EQ is quietly among my most important pieces of kit, and the flower pedals Sunflower is equally stunning in its expansive range of “does thing well” 🤩🤩
@@nocuh this is true about the majority of our dirt circuits, absolutely- but one thing that is superior to the versions of antiquity are that our modern takes have much lower noise floors, require less voltage, and generally play better with other pedals in front of them!

@@SpiralCasterPlaysPedals Funny thing, I just fired up the rig, picked up the guitar, and hit a chord. The WTF was on, and I was like, "oh yeah, SpiralCaster would dig this for sure". The only down side to the WTF... apart from it being a little chunky, is the tone shaping.... and it's a little temperamental with buffers. But it has a hi-cut switch to smooth things out. It's a beefy-sounding versatile dirtbox that I wish J Rockett still kept making.

I guess you mean just plain old presets, which would be great, but I am for sure getting a good midi controller as my next gear purchase. I have to if I want to really control my board. I want an arcades so bad but I here so expensive I see them for sale with all the cards all the time for like I think the cheapest was 1200$ and that's actually a good deal considering how much the core unit cost and how much each card cost I think they made a total of 15 cards

In truth it’s a lot harder than it sounds to add a whole other element like that to a video, and the work/time on each demo piece is already massive. Def have considered this many times!

@@WildHunt-fv5dx I’m personally not a fan of strat trems (the whole setup including the bridge) because there are too many points of friction to keep them in tune reliably. They do feel/sound great though. The Vega team has virtually no points of friction and twice as much range in the bend both ways so you can get reallllllyyyy fluid and (precise) with it. It is pricey though 😬

@@dannnnng it’s bae. Love that Model T distortion sound. Tuning is standard A-A on my Jazzmaster baritone (I sadly no longer have 😭). As for the guard-- all of my guitars are outfitted with custom etched hardware from Indra Guitars! Look them up on IG- I have more pics of my other guitars on my own IG page too

I also own the microcosm. Endless fun. Imo great for the price too for how much it does. There's a lot of $400+ loopy/glitch/pitch pedals that do much less.

@@hekakain4108 I understand the benefit o this for sure…I leave off the cuff, out of context sounds though to my other demo peeps. In truth it’s a lot harder than it sounds to add a whole other element like that to a video, and the work/time on each demo piece is already massive. Def have considered this many times!

@@WildHunt-fv5dx I’m personally not a fan of strat trems (the whole setup including the bridge) because there are too many points of friction to keep them in tune reliably. They do feel/sound great though. The Vega team has virtually no points of friction and twice as much range in the bend both ways so you can get reallllllyyyy fluid and (precise) with it. It is pricey though 😬
