@@alwillk Montreal was a team of destiny that year. I’ll give you that. But not too many people would argue that the Leafs would have matched up great against the Habs in the finals that year.
I still remember this series like it was yesterday. Would have give my right arm for the Leafs to have won it that year. On a different note, even though the Gardens was dump by the end it's time, there was something about that building I loved. Don't know if it's the nostalgia and the memories, or how certain parts were just more cozy and intimate.
I know exactly what you're saying.... The cigarette smoke filled concourse, walking through them narrow dark gloomy tunnels, and once you entered the rink and seating area, you felt the electricity in the air. Just something different about it compared to new age arenas. Reds behind the nets above the shot clock were my favourite seats. Blues were pretty fun seats as well.
He was the best of all-time. I couldn't agree more. It's an embarrassment what they've done with in-arena announcing and entertainment with all of the ads and gimmicks. It's gross.
01-02 and 02-03 teams were better. Just ran into a tough devils squad. And then Carolina hit hot. The leafs weren’t beating a western team anyway. West was the better conference from 95-04.
I can't believe how absolutely stacked this Detroit team is. How the hell did the we beat them? That Detroit team player by player might be the best team of all time. What a series to live game by game, and what a feeling it was to eliminate the Wings in o/t in Game 7.
Don was so funny. "I don't know why everyone is picking on Wendel? There are 19 other guys on this team. I just don't understand it." 2 MIN LATER. Anderson needs to start playing and get out of his fog. Start playing or go back to Switzerland or wherever he was playing" HUH???? But you just said.......never mind that just do as I say. Just hilarious.
Classy Toronto fans, booing the "Star Spangled Banner". Yeah, I know about the flag incident during the World Series in 1992, for which multiple apologies, including by President Bush, were issued. If Canadians/Torontonians were still worked up about it 6 months later that's their right, but please spare us the sanctimonious lectures about how much more polite you are. You're passionate about your country, always have been. There's nothing wrong with showing your jingoism. Just don't turn around and sneer at others who do the same.
different time and generation, apples and oranges. game has changed because the fans have and ya we led the way in Canada but now it just doesn't mean much anymore. so forgiveness if we see through the bullshit and " sneer " at the next generation. 👍🇨🇦👍
Looking back, I was appalled. But I do remember the 90s in Canada where anti-Americanism was prevalent. That all changed after 9/11. You certainly wouldn't hear jeering at the ahthems today. Rather, we Canadians today are proud to sing the Star Spangled Banner, to honour our great southern neighbours!
one minute in and i have goosebumps all over, again.
👍🇨🇦👍
This was the best year/era ever in NHL history IMO.
1992/93 was a special year ... Leafs should have won it that year.
J Kemper agree on both
there are 99 reasons they didnt win it all.......influence a non call and a certain situation that denied a leafs vs habs final
Fully agree!!
Montreal was much better. Hell, Detroit was better in this series. Blew leads and out shot the Leafs.

Love more Classic Hockey Night In Canada from the 90's.
Thanks for posting this. We need more classic NHL games on You Tube.
Me too. I like to see some more HNIC stuff from the Molson era.
Classic Grapes, forever missed!

I was 12 and remember it like yesterday! Best era of hockey - scoring and physicality perfectly balanced. Also Bob Cole's play by play was incredible.
Holy Crap the full game! thank you so much for posting this!
Love the HNIC intro!
Paul Morris, calling things like a professional and not like we're watching a monster truck rally.

Best Leaf team since 1967.
92' 93' season definitely has not been matched. i hate where this game was taken.

50:45 organist absolutely rocking born to be wild.
I was lucky to be in that building through that whole run while working security. Great memories.😃👍🏾👍🏾

Tim Cheveldae??
Wings didn’t know how to play with leads and they out shot the leafs in almost every game.
Clicks at random point in the game: "Gilmour to Andreychuk, scores!" Sounds about right.
Man..... me too lol
we need more pyro in todays games
No Coaches Corner?
Awesome! Do you happen to have Game 5 of the 1993 conference Finals with the Kings and Leafs?
I'd take this hockey any day over the figure skating we have today
What was the goal song they used in the playoffs?

Red wings didn't win the cup still a excellent team
