And a great deal of thanks belongs to Quebec's goalie coach Dan Buchard who shot his mouth off to the press, trying to take credit by saying he'd discovered a weakness in Roy's game lol. So much for that theory! lol
The Nordiques were an offensive powerhouse, but these Habs had Damphousse, Muller, Leclair and Bellows on offense, Desjardins, Schneider, Brisebois on defense (even Odelein was a really solid defensive defenseman) Patrick Roy was great, but he had plenty of help.
Good thing for the Habs that all three: Sakik, Sundin and Nolan were just budding. We knew they were good players but all three became game-changers within a few years. Secret weapon for the Habs, Big Johnny LeClair comes into his own as the playoffs progress…. With several key late and OT goals in the playoffs … And soon after goes to Philly to team up with Lindros to form the Legion of Boom line. How the Habs let that man go…. I’ll never know!
Its cool seeing Soon to be Colorado Avalanche Players taking’s shots on Roy. We all know what happened when the Québec Nordiques were brought to the States lol…. Lets just say it didn’t take very long for Colorado and Pierre Lacroix to capture Lord Stanley’s Cup
@@NHLPlayoffsArchivedGames- I did find some of your other games but I was really hoping someone out there would have all the other games. That would have been a blast to watch from game 1 against the Nordiques all the way to game 5 against the Kings. Oh well, I'll keep hoping.
Imagine dropping Forsberg into the Nords lineup: Sakic, Sundin and Forsberg up the middle? Even St Patrick would've been no match (as they say, you need to be lucky to be good). Instead, they never played together and the Nords/Avs lost Sundin (a HOFer) for nothing. Still won two Cups lol.
After a rough two games in Quebec, Patrick Roy would dominate the rest of the '93 playoffs.

Man quebec had one hell of a team Sakic, nolan, sundin ect
Definitely the byproduct of being hot garbage for the previous 4-5 seasons, it allowed them to draft very well
And Forsberg (via the Lindros trade) was still a prospect.
thanks for the post.....been lookin for these full games forever
That Quebec ice with those jerseys was juet gorgeous ❤

Finaly someone who see clearly !
Hextall style here of coming out of the net was a fading style.
Sadly this would be the last Playoff Series of these two Teams against each other.
I can't do it! Oh, Quebec, come back!
Mercí Eric 🙏

During this time we are bored, can you post the entire 1993 Habs playoff run?
I posted all the games I have from that run. Some were blocked but I didnt have every game. Just this series and the finals.

Imagine also if Quebec kept Owen Nolan.
@@leafyutube Traded for Sandis Ozolinsh in 1995.
Sundin for Wendel Clark, Wendel Clark for Claude Lemieux...
lets go patrick roy
greatest goalie ever
Roy was so twitchy
Old Time Hockey 🏒🏒🏒 Eh! Daaaayo AO
why no goal horn? (the one with the police siren)
The goal horn was there. It was fog horn-type sound, and it was low but it could be heard. You can kind of hear it at 2:13:44
Ron Hextall 27 war John Vanbiesbroukder NHL 97 drauf war oder
Patrick!
Looking back on this , I can't believe how slow Montreal was and they won the cup. It was all Roy.
