  • When someone does this, the Bible says you can't say "amen" to their prayer. Let me explain why.
Watch "Can we speak in the tongues of angels" • THE TONGUES OF ANGELS?
We want to challenge you to dig deeper into God's Word, and help you to remove your lens of interpretation, so you can let the Bible interpret itself. We are a Christian ministry that believes and teaches the whole Bible. We want to be like the noble Bereans who studied the Scriptures daily to know the truth.
Our Vision is that people will learn to let the Bible interpret itself.
Our Mission is to cause people to dig deeper into the truth of God’s Word.
We Value the Truth of God as it is revealed through the Holy Scriptures.

I broke fellowship with a ministry because of the issue with tongues. I felt terrible about it, but I am reaffirmed by how Paul teaches concerning tongues. I am of the opinion that a tongue is a known language that has an interpretation for it. I hate the idea of offending someone in their faith by saying jibberish is not a known tongue, no matter how famous the person is who utters pure nonsense and calls it the Holy Spirit. No matter how well that person is justified by the twisting of scripture, I can not go along with it. It's a tragedy to hear well-known people in the faith hijacking the scripture and using it to bolster themselves above others. I hope that I am not alone in this sort of situation?

I'm with you brother. Exercise discernment under God's Spirit and you will always know when someone is in error. Tongues are the languages of mankind. Then there is the supernatural tongue of Pentecost, which will be manifested again in the near future, it is also fully understandable, as the hearers will hear what God's children prophesy in their own native language/dialect as a sign.

I agree brother and I’m still currently a member of a ministry that does this. I don’t attend certain events where they “pray in tongues” or “pray in the spirit” as they call it. They have tried many times to call me to repentance for not asking God for the gift but I still go on trusting God that it is not the same gift described in the Bible. I love the church and the people I have met there, but this doctrinal difference has lead me to wonder if I should leave this church. I have tried to appeal to other members about it and even read Acts 2 and 1 Corinthians 14 trying to show them what the scriptures actually meant but they continue to twist the scriptures.

@@corbinclarke9795 God may use you there to bring others out of confusion. But those people speaking in the confusion tongues are toying with demons. According to the Word we should not be in communion with the works of darkness. Being there and not speaking against it is practically being guilty by association. Since you spoke out against it and the correction was not received, you should just ask Christ to lead you to a communion with believers who are following the Spirit of God and His Word, and not the traditions of men. Our Father will always give us everything we need, especially things we need to help further His Kingdom. Glory to Jesus!

It's supposed to be us ministering to the LORD, not the other way around. That's the core principle we all share. And if the church your attending isn't ministering to him but to the people, there's a big issue. If the issue can not be worked out, well, there's no other option besides forfeiture of your attendance to said church. Thats my understanding of defining a wise decision to break fellowship.

That I should be the minister of Jesus Christ to the Gentiles, ministering the gospel of God, that the offering up of the Gentiles might be acceptable, being sanctified by the Holy Ghost. -- Romans 15:16
Praying us with much entreaty that we would receive the gift, and take upon us the fellowship of the ministering to the saints. -- 2 Corinthians 8:4
For as touching the ministering to the saints, it is superfluous for me to write to you: -- 2 Corinthians 9:1
But to which of the angels said he at any time, Sit on my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool? Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation? -- Hebrews 1:13-14
Your strict ministering to the Lord only, isn't Biblical. Ministering means sharing the gospel to unbelievers, which is what we are called to do. So I don't know why you say we should only minister to God. Don't go shooting the messenger since we are only ministering the Word of God and His Spirit to the edification of the saints. The book of Acts specifically gives accounts of Jews from Israel speaking in languages from countries outside of Israel the wonderful works of God or the Gospel of Jesus Christ.(see below).
      Acts 2:4-8
4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
5 And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven.
6 Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language.
7 And they were all amazed and marvelled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these which speak Galilaeans?

There is a differance between giving a message in tougues and praying in tougues. Giving a message in tougues requires an interpreter in order to be understood and received by others, where as praying in tounges is your spirit praying to God and not a message to others but is used for building up oneself in the Spirit and does not require a interpretation. Giving a public message in tongues with interpretation is the equivalence to speaking a prophetic message by the Holy Spirit. /// But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, - Jde 1:20 KJV // Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. - Rom 8:26 KJV /// For if I pray in an [unknown] tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful. What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also. - 1Co 14:14-15 KJV

    Not complete Truth
You can pray in tongues when you're not sure what to pray for but are prompted by the Holy Spirit to pray,
(Not to be done to be heard by others). Unless the Holy Spirit gives you utterance to do so, you must obey and always test the spirits that you are hearing because this life is a spiritual battle. And there are three different types of tongues that the Holy Spirit uses to give utterances.

There is no longer unclean food as long as it's received in Thanksgiving. In fact the Scripture is very clear that one of the signs of the last days would be that people would fall back into the Levitical ordinances and laws (legalism) when God died to free us from the actually burdens of the law in the ordinances and rituals. Sabbath, feast days, etc Nothing is mandatory anymore. Jesus gave 2 commandments, love the Lord your God above all things, and love your neighbor as you love yourself. He said on these 2 Commandments hang all of the law. So if you want to follow the new law, just follow those 2, He made our burden light. And the Holy Spirit will convict when you are not acting under the principle of those 2 love Commandments. God bless you all abundantly.
      Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
      Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;
Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.
For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving:
For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.
      -- 1 Timothy 4:1-5
Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:
Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.

      @@supershorts9224 Hello. Blessings.
Where do you find the two commands to love God and your neighbor as yourself?
Embedded within the law- Deuteronomy 6:5
      and Leviticus 19:18.
Also, it's not your thankfulness that sanctifies what meats are to be received by those who believe and know the truth. It's the word of God that sanctifies what is to be received with thanksgiving. And in Leviticus 20:8, He says to keep His statutes and do them for He is the Lord who sanctifies us.
First, it must be sanctified by the word of God, and then we can receive it with thanksgiving. As the Father closes out Leviticus 11, He says to be holy a He is holy. Tell me, has the holiness of God changed? No. God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Before you accuse someone of teaching a doctrine of demons, please understand that historically, the most noticeable church today to forbid marriage and command against eating food God has sanctified by His word, is Roman Catholicism. They command celibacy for their priests and nuns, and command abstinence from clean meats every sixth day of the week, especially during lent.
Meanwhile, I do not teach against receiving food with thanksgiving that has been sanctified by the word of God. Why? Because Christ himself says in Matthew 5, that if one teaches against the law and prophets and teaches others to do so, they'll be least in the kingdom of heaven. But if they keep the law and teach others to do so, they'll be great in the kingdom of heaven.
Those are Christ's words, and I believe him. Do you? If so, why do you teach against the commandments of God, and falsely accuse me of teaching a doctrine of demons?
In Matthew 5, Christ said not one jot or tittle would pass from the Law until all has been accomplished. Do you believe him? Has everything been accomplished? Are we now able to read Revelation 21 in past tense while living on a new earth with the Lord proclaiming, "It is finished!"?
Has Zechariah 14 taken place? Has the Lord returned with his feet touching the Mount of Olives? No. And please go read that chapter if you haven't. It's future prophecy speaks of the Lord's return on the Mount of Olives , which pastors teach. And, then scriptures says that all the enemies of the Lord will not only be defeated, but also the whole earth will come to Jerusalem to keep the festival of Tabernacles year after year😳🙌🏾. Yes! That's the part pastors don't teach from Zechariah 14 because they're too busy twisting Paul's letters so they can "nail" God's law to the cross.
If everything was fulfilled at the cross, Christ would have no need to come back. If all was fulfilled at his death, there would be no resurrection, no Pentecost, and so on. That's why in Colossians 2:16-17, Paul says that these sabbaths, new moons, and festivals ARE SHADOWS OF THINGS THAT ARE TO COME THAT POINT TO CHRIST(emphasis, not yelling, friend).
The church in general focuses on the word 'shadows', but fails to see the following phrase that these speak of things to come that find their substance in Christ. Every single holy day in Leviticus 23 is a holy shadow that points to our Savior, which is more than enough reason to remember them, don't you think?
When Christ says in three gospels that he IS Lord of the Sabbath on the very Sabbath day you teach against, who is making Christ out to be a liar, me or you? (Matthew 12, Mark 2, and Luke 6)
Besides, it's strange to teach against remembering these festivals because of so much Christ has fulfilled, but teach people to remember Christ's birth, which he also fulfilled...I would call that hypocricy and voiding commands of God for the sake of your traditions, Isaiah 29 and Mark 7.
So as you read Zechariah 14, Jeremiah 33, Ezekiel 40-48, and Isaiah 56-66, please understand the faithfulness of God.
A quick read over Leviticus 11 will explain that we don't eat that which is unholy because we're to be holy as He is holy. Our diet is a reflection of His unchanging holiness. We can only give thanks for that which has been sanctified by His word, through His unchanging holiness.
Here is a call for the endurance of the saints, those who keep the commandments of God and their faith in Jesus.
      Revelation 14:12
For the mind that is set on the flesh is hostile to God, for it does not submit to God’s law; indeed, it cannot.
      Romans 8:7
“Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. For truly, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the Law until all is accomplished. Therefore whoever relaxes one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever does them and teaches them will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
      Matthew 5:17‭-‬19

According to the Word of the Lord, God will send the prince of Rosh as a rod of correction to Israel and the church (as they are both apostate). Daniel says the bear arises and devours much flesh. No praying is going to stop the will of God being fulfilled brother. Don't pray contrary to God's plan, as that is like Peter cutting off the ear of Malchus and trying to prevent the death of Christ. God already told us what's going to happen so we know the season we're in, and the wars that are soon to break out will be the moment the antichrist manifests in Jerusalem to usher in false peace, which many will be deceived by. It is only after his reign of deceit that our Lord will appear and destroy him with the brightness of His coming.

He may not have been called Jesus by his apostles since they spoke another language. He was given many different names throughout the scriptures. I go based off of what I can read in my language from the kjv Bible. In Malachi 1:11 it reads; For from the rising of the sun even unto the going down of the same my name shall be great among the Gentiles; and in every place incense shall be offered unto the my name, and a pure offering: for my name shall be great among the heathen, saith the Lord of hosts. The one name that is known the world over and most mentioned is Jesus. In 2 Corinthians 11:4 it reads; For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, of if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not recieved, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him. So in other words this is the Jesus spoken greatly of by the heathen in Malichi 1:11.

If a foreigner prays in your church but no one translated, then no one will know when to say Amen. Then you have the tongues of Pentecost which will finally be fully fulfilled in the near future, the Holy Spirit will be poured out in a supernatural manner without precedent and will give witness of the Kingdom of our Christ and of the end, and this will culminate the age as this will happen at the end of the tribulation when people will be in jail even for not worshipping the antichrist. It's at that moment that the prophecy of the gospel being heralded to every corner of the earth will be fulfilled, as the Holy Spirit will speak through His elect in the tongue of God, that everyone will hear in their own language/dialect, and it shall be for a witness. Those are the 2 types of tongues, any babbling is straight demonic. And if anyone reading this is struggling with that Demon I ask they be loosed from that lie and control of that unclean spirit in the name of Jesus. Our Lord is not the author of confusion, you can guess from where that spirit came. Anyone throwing themselves on the ground as evidence of the Holy Spirit, that is not godly, it's not God's Spirit. Those are the doctrines of devils and seducing spirits found today in the apostate church. And the prosperity gospel is pure golden calf materialistic idolatry. Anyone preaching that better repent.
