Another great video son!😉 I am his greatest supporter and so incredibly proud. Jeremy is like a second son and they have always been close. Brian is great, too. He’s the natural at this you tube stuff. So proud of our hometown boys!
Ha, I bet you'll get a like from my mom on this comment! I should've clarified that those thank you's were solely UA-cam-related! Believe me, there is a separate, long list of people I owe thanks to that have helped me do what I do everyday!
Cody has a wonderful story. Again the drive that people like him have is absolutely great to hear. So for the FNG is a local boy. Make us proud young man. We all know the bills are better than the browns. Right?? Riiiiiigggggghhhhhhtttttt??!! Another good one Rod.
Thanks for the videos. Always seeing our aircraft at work with the usual 121st outstanding crews. I have been watching Brians videos for quite some time and he let me know about your channel. Enjoy you introducing the crews and the unseen maintenance folks. Thanks for the great work
Rod, I watched this on 9/11 and just as I finished watching it, there were 2 F16's that flew over my house after doing a flyover, over the Minnesota Twins baseball field. They are members of the Air Guard in Duluth, MN. I was a 25 year member of the Army National Guard and retired in 1988. I like how you include your crew and what they do beside, being in the Guard. They are a special kind of people. Keep up the good work and the good videos. I'll bet you will even get that farming thing figured out too. 😀
The Guard is kind've a hidden gem! I don't think a lot of people know about it. There are plenty of opportunities for folks to serve on a part time basis. Thanks for watching!
@@ohioflyingfarmer7050 C.W. Lemoine was a pilot in the air force and guard great channel. Your channel is awesome Farming and Flying. Thank you for your service sir
Great video. Yes I am a Brian's follower. Also former Army, S.O.G. Europe, 86-89. You guys took me all over the world. And just kicked me out the door. LOL. Thank God you came back to pick me up. I really got a giggle out of. This is the F.N.G. brought back memories. Thank you for that Sir.
I really enjoy you introducing your crew, you are a vital source for our countries defense and I will stand up and say I salute you all! But, telling everyone Brian Brown is one of your friends may hurt you! Of course I am kidding I love his channels! Have a great week!
It is a special feeling taking off across the ocean with a cargo weight that does not allow for a fuel load to complete the ocean crossing, and if that tanker isn't there on time, we'll be swimming in the North Atlantic until we freeze to death. Great shots of our wiggly pylons. 04131 is a cranky girl too.
So I assume you are c17 aircrew or maintenance? I've always wondered if the pylons always dance around like that, or if that is caused from the wake off of the tanker during refueling?
@@ohioflyingfarmer7050 3500 hour FCC. Tanker wake probably adds to it, but they always dance. Watch a power reverse video of ground backing and REALLY see them shake. I'm sure it's as shaky as going to idle reverse in flight as well.
I discovered your channel last week - Really enjoy your videos. I have always been interested in the KC135. Though i have never worked or lived on a farm I have always wanted to.
Great videos! I just discovered your channel while watching Brian’s Farming Videos. Thank you very much for your service and keep putting out the videos!!
Another awesome video! Found your channel by searching for pilot/farmer. At that time you only had two videos. Immediately subscribed! Like the go between flying and farming. Looking forward to your harvesting too! Thank you for your service!!
Yo Rod. Been watching Brian's channel for quite some time. I live in jersey about 20 min from McGuire afb. These days it's MDL. Ha!HA!! I enjoy your channel a lot. Am retired from Verizon but was raised on a farm as a kid in Southern New Jersey. America!!!!!!!!!
New to the channel, Came over after a Brian Brown suggestion in his latest video. I'm located north of Lincoln, Nebraska and watch your Nebraska ANG counterparts fly over our place regularly. We just run a small YT channel with goats haha.
@@ohioflyingfarmer7050 our channel Lucky M Boer Goats has been stagnant all summer with the drought and inflation. I'll start getting some videos up again this fall and we tape all the baby goats being born
Another great video. I remember getting to know a retired boom operator, who would tell everyone his job in the Air Force was to lay on his stomach and pass gas.
That was really cool seeing the C-17 fueling like that. I constantly have those flying over my house only a couple thousand feet 😁 Thanks again to you and your crew for bringing us along with you and taking the time to share it with us all. Most of all thank you for your service guys!!
We want to see your video from the camping trip and the run away truck. One thing I would like you to have explained that the boom operators are all Enlisted personnel vs Officers. There is a lot of people that don't know you can fly and have important job and not be an officer.
This is awesome! 2 questions: when you refuel these guys, is that training, because they need to keep current, or is it actually part of their flight schedule? Also: how much gas did you pass?
Great questions! Yes, all of my videos are on training missions. As aircrew, we have monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual training events to accomplish to maintain proficiency. In this particular video, we did not offload any gas.
It’s amazing watch you guys fill that plane and seeing the engines move around as much as they do. It’s crazy that they just don’t break off or shear the bolts off. It just goes to show how well built they are and the amazing crews they have taking care of them. Thank you for taking us along with you on this flight. Do you guys only fuel fixed wings or do you do rotor aircraft also?
No we can not do rotor aircraft. A version of the C-130 is used for those. Yeah, the C-17 engines dance around quite a bit. I'm not sure if they always do that, or if that is due to the wake coming off of the tanker during refueling.
Depends. If weather is clear, most times it is by sight. On overcast days with low ceilings, we have charts called Instrument approach plates that allow us to navigate solely by instruments. In the KC-135, we can fly down to 200' above the ground without ever seeing the ground. If the clouds are lower than 200' we have to find somewhere else to land.
I was thinking about your introduction and it occurred to me that ride a longs in your tanker would enhance recruitment. I know the show birds do it so why not you?
Is it just me or do the C-17 engines seem to flex a fair bit. But rather your boom operator than me though flying doesn't scare me I don't think I'd like the view down my relative's Gazelle helicopter has enough glass by your feet but not quite that clear a view to the ground like that. The only issue I have had in feeling sick is in the back seat with not such a clear view and dropping a 1000ft in a couple of seconds in solid cloud and again over the same airspace in clear weather both times to avoid an oncoming aircraft. Three times we have flown that way over a parked Vulcan and every time on the way there we have had to do the same thing but only once I believe on the return journey.
Oh they are definitely dancing back there quite a bit! That's why I zoomed in on the engines a couple times. I'm not sure if they always do that, or if that is the wake coming off of the tanker causing it. Maybe someone more familiar with C17s will chime in?
Thanks for sharing

If I ever get on a flight with two boom operators, I'm going to have them explain that, as well as what they're doing/looking at back there.

We do ride alongs occasionally for folks, but not very often. Main reason is because it limits some of the training we can do.

Do y'all do routine S.n Go on each flight ?
Yes, usually. Never hurts to get some practice in, especially for the newer guys and those part-timers that don't fly a lot.
