Refueling F22 s is already absolutely amazing and the cloud surfing and thunderstorm night shots made it even better. I thought I heard you guys on frequency a little while back while shooting approaches. As always thanks for not only serving this country but taking the time to bring us along too!
@@ohioflyingfarmer7050 back in '88, on a deployment exercise out of Plattsburgh, I rode in a 135 and watched our FB-111A's refuel.... that was very cool, but they aren't Raptors or a B-2... would love to see that in person!
Rod, in today's GPS world, rendezvousing with the receiver must be fairly easy. Back in the day, it required a navigator and I guess a lot of planning, both on the tanker and receiver's part. In a future video, can you explain some of the mission planning details that go into a refueling mission. The signs of a real professional is they make something complex look easy. You and your crew's professionalism make the refuelings look easy, but there's a heck of a lot of training and planning that goes into these missions. Thanks!
Thanks for the comment Dave! Yes, GPS simplifies things greatly! I try to show you guys as much as I can without jeopardizing anyone's safety, but its probably best if I didn't go into specifics on how the rendezvous actually happens. Never know who is watching......
Loved serving. Allways loved riding in your KC's. Was in Georgia, Seymour Johnson and Keflavik . TDY was our job. Anywhere at a moments notice. GREAT JOB
Another excellent video, thanks! I'm going to show my age, but the flying scenes on the cloud tops looks right out of "Dr. Strangelove." Major Kong would be proud! The F-22 fuel receptacle location seems to be in the perfect spot, much less movement with its central location vs near the nose .
Next time I get back home to Maumee, I'll def make an effort to come down and say hi. Last time I landed there was is the back seat of a 112th/180th T-33. My cousin, Col Boris Evanoff (then a Capt) let me ride along (I was Active Duty at the time). Always enjoy your Videos both farming and flying.
My dream was to fly f-16s and if I couldn't do that I wanted to fly the F-15E strike eagle but man I love the KC-135 as well watch my dad die of cancer at 18 I'm 39 now but I slipped into active addiction for 20 years got multiple years sober now❤❤❤❤❤ thank you for your service
Thanks Rod for providing us with these magnificent cloud pictures. I've seen the F-22's arriving myself at Leeuwarden and they are very pretty planes to watch. Keep it up!
@@ohioflyingfarmer7050 I can imagine that :-) It's nicely tucked away in the northern part of our country where it's always windy and colder then the rest. Keep it up with these nice calm video's. We need those these days. If you're interested there is a vid of them on my channel, sadly they departed very quick again because of the insane bird status that period. Also a thumb up for having some ATC comms in the video.
Another great video Clark! Thank you and your crew and not only that but the pilots you serve and all of the United States Armed Services! "Merica"! You are very much appreciated! See you in the next one! BTW you flew over very near where I live in lower Alabama. Have a great week!
Awesome is a word that gets over used these days, but the video in this definitely qualifies. Always beautiful flying around T-storms (but definitely not IN them).
Hi Rod! Thanks for your service, sir, and thanks for your videos. How often do you fly a C-130? Can you please do a video showing a walkthrough and flying one? It’s my favorite aircraft because of its size and versatility. On Saturday, my husband and I went to the National Museum of the Air Force at Wright Pat for advanced weather spotter training and spent the rest the day at the museum. It was the second time I’ve been there since sometime during 1994-1996. Back then it was just one building but now it’s four; it’ll take us a few days to walk through all of the buildings and do it justice. My husband and I will have to plan ahead and set aside some time to do it.
I was a Navigator on C-130s 20 years ago. That was prob the last time that I have been on one. Generally speaking, once you are assigned to an aircraft, that will be the only airplane you fly, so I will prob never fly on a c-130 again.
Man I miss those night time thunderheads. When offloading, normally how much flying is you vs AP? Just wondering as some of those seem lengthy for formation flying. Appreciate it as well as your videos.
My comment was prob a little misleading haha. We are down your way a lot, but we usually don't land. We just offload some fuel, turn around and come back to Ohio.

Thanks again for watching! Wasn't us shooting approaches though. Must've been another tanker.
@@ohioflyingfarmer7050 No I was shooting approaches at KSGH
Another great video Son but then I’m the Mom🤣🤣The clouds are beautiful; the night shot with lightning… wow!! 🥰

Great footage. This Aussie certainly enjoys watching you jet jockeys in action. Thanks a bunch.

That shot skimming the cloud tops was awesome!
Yeah, I thought it was pretty cool too! I'm glad my camera was working at the moment!
Another great episode. Thanks for bringing along.

Awesome awesome awesome video, clouds and Raptors, don’t get much better than that!👍👍👍👍👍👍
No it does not!
Another great video with the absolute best sky/cloud views!! Flying and farming is cool too! 😅👍🏻
Thanks! I figured you'd like the clouds!

Yes....thunderstorms are cool to look at from a distance!
Best one yet (flying). Comms make it.
Thanks for the feedback. Including the comms adds a layer of difficulty when editing, but I think it's worth it.

When are gloves required in the cockpit ?
Per our regs, they are never required to be worn. They must be "immediately available."
11:29
How many hookups per refueling training sorties are allocated per pilot rainee ?
There is not a set number. Just depends on how quickly the student picks it up.
Were those F-22's out of Eglin AFB, 33d Tactical Fighter Wing
I think they were from tyndall, not sure which unit though.
Moody also has some

Long story short......currently speaking, all air refueling is with our autopilot OFF.
