    Now that is a really nice motherboard. That's a nice application of LEDs also. It kind of reminds me of a classic pinball machine.

    Future proof is an understatement. It's Friday, Sept. 8, 2023 and to date both INTEL and AMD have had a lot of mishaps to say the least. Still buying this motherboard along with a 13th gen. i7 this Week along with an opportunity knowing INTEL will one again use Socket 1700 for their 14th gen processors made this an easy reliable choice. Saying this is entry level ASUS MAXIMUS series sounds belittling to this motherboard. I've had my share of MAXIMUS motherboards and they still astound me. They had and have features most of us never realized and are now due to the fact not all computer cases adopted ASUS Maximus features until now.

    As long as you can turn of that huge waste of RGB lighting section. Why not let you be able to put temps there or something. I already know what the MB is. I dont need a flashing reminder.

    The bottom area doesn't have rgb because thats where you put your graphis card that has rgb and it would cover the motherboard rgb

    If you live in the United States, the ASUS Rog Maximum Z690 Hero motherboard has been recalled by ASUS and released an announcement with Consumer Product Safety Commission on August 18th, 2022 due to confirmed fire hazard from an upside-down capacitor causing short circuits. 10,000 units are affected. SUS Computer International has received 10 reports of the motherboards overheating and melting. No injuries have been reported. Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled motherboard and visit ASUS official website for instruction on how to return the product for a free replacement, including shipping.

    I had to return mine to newegg because some a couple of weeks ago because my ethernet port wasn't working correctly even with the new driver's installed, what's worse is that ono of the power pin connectors was bent to hell lol.
    They are finally shipping me a replacement tomorrow.

    I was looking for a future-proof motherboard to pair with my gen12th i5 and it was love at first sight!
    I love how Asus pays attention to small details, like putting 4 more screw holes for the LGA1200 coolers and the little button, that pops out your installed VGA. Small things, but makes it so much easier to work with. Also love the aestethics, but the software side can be a bit slow sometimes, staring at you Armoury Crate. All-in-all it's the best choice for a high-end build!

    What about the capacitors installed backwards on this board? Have Asus solved it yet?

    • @livingvegas
      @livingvegas 2 роки тому

      Yes! Only a specific batch was affected. You can look at the board and see if the chip is upside down. They can also tell you based on your serial number whether or not your board is affected by the recall.

    This and the Aorus Z690 Master all have a single NIC. Seems you have to spend $600+ for dual?

    If you use the m.2 Hyper expansion slot does that turn the GPU x16 to x8? If so why would anybody do that?

    • @thundereagle4130
      @thundereagle4130 2 роки тому +1

      No, but you have to use that thing on the second PCI-E slot (the one with metal) if you want PCI-E 5.0 speed. Which is kinda problematic since it will choke your GPU.
      If you put it in the third, it will be 2x PCI-E 3.0.

    What I really like with this board is the LACK of RGB. And that display... I will turn it off if I can.
