Rick Wright. What a humble human being. RIP🙏
Roger Water should have been there to accept induction and Syd Barrett was still alive at this time. In fact, he would be alive for another 10 years after this. RIP Rick Wright (who died in 2008) and Roger "Syd" Barrett (who died in 2006).
Syd was a recluse and went back to his birth name at his mothers house
Syd was so detached by then, it didn't matter to him. But I'm glad they always made it a point to mention his importance.
I wonder if Syd ever got his hall of fame trophy

Rock seems to have been the most humble and gracious and nicks got a sharp wit and reminds me of a Monty python actor here haha
He does share some similarity with Eric Idle

I've always held the members of the Floyd in the highest esteem. They will forever influence me in everything I do I grew up with them I evolved with their music. Since the late 60's, I've immersed myself into them. I would be a different person if they never existed.

Roger is still alive. Rick is gone, though.
I finally got to see a Pink Floyd concert in 1994. It was great, but, it would have been better if Roger Waters was on that final tour.
Roger would have rather drank Liquid Plumber than play with his ex-bandmates.
David’s speech was 10 seconds and acknowledged Roger and Syd. The former was not in attendance because he was still pissed off that David, Rick and Nick carried on without him with huge success and the latter was not in attendance for obvious reasons.
Rick acknowledged Roger and Syd. Rick always took the high road on his issues with Roger who kicked him out in 1979 in a four year plan to ease Wright out. Rick also acknowledged Syd and knows Syd started Pink Floyd NOT Roger. His speech was 30 seconds.
Nick Mason’s speech covered the engineers, co-producers, Storm Thorgerson (who was a record label’s worst nightmare for album cover design) and Steve O’Rourke who was manager of the band from the time Syd left to the day he died in 2003 and remained close friends with David, Nick and Rick and also managed their solo careers and saw and guided them to superstardom and also made sure that their record labels EMI in Europe and Columbia/Sony for the rest of the world let them do what they wanted.
