- The GT-R is an AWD performance car from Nissan. This 2016 GT-R Black Edition features RAYS forged wheels, gold Brembo Calipers and Carbon Fiber spoiler. On the inside you will be greeted by a 2-tone leather interior. Under the hood is a 3.8L twin-turbo V6 mated to a 6-speed DCT. Is the 2009-2024 Nissan R35 GTR the BEST sports car ever BUILT?

Got a 2018 850whp GTR and I love it. Not the best car... but 100% a drivers car. Never frowning in it.. and always turning heads and making kids scream in joy!! :)

5 years ago I found a GTR35 Black Edition in white and it was a 2013 model at Nissan dealership and they want $70k for it because blue book value at 36k on the clock so I got the cash for it and went ahead and bought it. I still have it to this day and I still love it. I contacted AMS Performance in Chicago and I requested a customized package and I got it AMS Alpha 12x bolt-on twin-turbo kit and a new transmission and a new transfer case and Endless Carbon Ceramic brakes and I got the Password:JDM straight-pipe exhaust system and a ton of boost added to it. Hp is sitting at 1796whp@25psi.

I had one of these, a 2013 black edition. Owned it for 3 years and I miss it everyday. I’ll probably get another someday

Years ago I had a 2012 and it was my winter beater car! People thought I was nuts. And of course it was pearl white because I wanted it to blend into the snow.
I was one of those guys that discovered how incredible these cars were through gran turismo in the 90s. Particularly the calsonic r34 super gt car. I REALLY wouldn’t mind owning a r35 someday.

Awesome car I was fortunate enough to get the chance to drive one in Japan. The GTR is one of my favorite cars. I came really close to buying one but decided to go with the 911 4S Thanks for sharing. Great video. Keep up the good work.👍👍👍

My son had one. Was modded a bit and was probably the craziest street car I’ve ever driven. Same color as the one you drove. Godzilla is insane! Great video Joe. The launch and pull of that car is mind blowing.

the r35 is like Raiti's Rides. many have come and contended for the best but no one has done it so good and for so long like the r35 and Raiti's Rides.
The awesome engine, the VR38DETT, is the best to come out of Japan. There are builds in the 1000, 1500, 2000 hp output that doesn't have a rough idle....you wouldnt even know how upgraded it is because of the smooth idle. Just the louder than stock exhaust gives it away that it's modded
Still always a dream car... Amazing that it evokes such emotion even after all these years! I'd Love to get out in one for a test ride...Lucky man!

Nissan GTR the best!!! Well developed and R&Dd to the hilt. Everyone wants to whine about it but, it is such an icon and unique driver's sports car which is also practical and ready for any season! Hand built special engine. I need one ASAP and you should get one Joe! I urge you! This is the last year, which makes me sad and I hope they reconsider. Please Nissan give us a few more years!!!!

A tremendously cutting edge monster. The GT-R and the Z offered the only two vehicles l would ever consider from Nissan in recent years (Thank you, Carlos Goshn). If it's raw, wild power in the genre of a Dodge Viper, then this your ticket. But for me, the Z Car is more of what l prefer.

It was an incredible bargain 2009-2016 model years. 2017+ prices get into a different level of performance cars. And the nismos being $220k+ is just disrespectful
The fact that Nissan had enough money to sell the EXACT same car with external mods for this long and have the nerve STILL to charge $220k - $240k for the Nismo after taxes etc.. Someone would have to literally be a fanboy to even consider a new one

I have a 2015 GTR 850 WHP .. I don't consider it a "sports" car .. Sports cars generally have only 2 seats and give up a lot of comforts for weight etc .. However it is better at many things dedicated sports cars do .. for me it the best because Nissan created a detuned platform for real car people .. that can also be a DD .. it's lineage is iconic

Honestly the GTR is the only modern Japanese replacement vehicle for the Supra.
No, c7 corvettes did not do 0-60 in 3s, but they also did not cost $113k.
Nissan has really improved lately
It´s the best affordable sportscar in that leaque of power, beside the Corvette. They were not a success in sales here in Europe, but whenever you see the R35 on the road, people are freakin out, pulling phones taking pictures. Decided 2016 to buy one new and did this decision between R8 and AMG GT. Pricewise and also from the overall apperance, this car fitted best to me as a sportive individual person. R8 and AMG GT was a bit of a glam and not really my stile, despite they´re great cars, too. Bought a MY2016 new and still have it. Nearly every stop at the gas station becomes an adventure....same to the value, these car´s meanwhile have....
I wish it was 2017+ because there is huge difference between interior after 2017+. Still beautiful review !

I actually got excited for a second, that dealership is only 45 mins from me. But $95k for 26k miles on a 2016 is way way way too high an asking price when you can a brand new Corvette with all the bells and whistles for the same price. They need to drop that asking price by like $35k.

Best sports car at the $90-$100k price point, possibly. Most reliable car that does 0-60 in under 3s. Can daily drive it and track it. Every other sports car and supercar is fearful to challenge the GTR since they don’t know if the it is stock or 4 digit horsepower ready to take them to gapplebees

Yeah been slaying super cars for the low and it’s overweight and the performance will stand the test of time.
only problem with the GTR is that it originally went against all these super cars and did a good job against them at a reasonable price but it's become a super car itself and supercar prices. do you think this is it or will they make a r36 even if it doesn't come to the states? i agree with you. in 2009 when this released in the states it was for sure better then everyone else. everyone's precious chargers and challengers were nowhere close to performance as the r35. crazy to think that when it released in 2007 in Japan they had flush door handles that almost no one was doing at the time.
