Especially in contrast to the heavily damaged, dark, and empty Constellation (except for Kirk in Auxillary Control of course). A quiet tribute to the crew who Decker evacuated to the now-destroyed 3rd planet.. The dark, cold, and empty rooms no one lived or worked in any more. And and he remembered that the bridge was heavily damaged and "uninhabitable"-- something they forgot in the very original rendition. Also how the hulk bobbed and swayed as it was trying to move along, just like Scotty told Kirk, that the Constellation would be "almost impossible for one man to handle".
Great work Chris. Especially like the detail in the hull of the Doomsday Machine and the damaged Constellation You really captured the spirit of the original show :)
Maximillian Cunningham I definitely think so too. The new enhanced version doesn't look as ominous as Decker described it. This one does As Decker said: "Well, it's....Miles long, with a maul that could swallow a dozen starships...." And this fits the profile.
I like this "planet killer" better than the 'upgraded 'one that they show on the episode now. The new one looks like a toy. It's too short to look right. This one looks better
I wonder whether it wouldn't have been more effective if they had separated the Constellation's saucer section. We have never seen that in the original series.
The only thing that should be different from this rendering would be that if the warp engines were down after Enterprise was damaged, then the front nacelle caps should be darkened for the rest of the episode.
They really over did damage on the CONSTELLATION. Another thing the way they made her drift in space makes you wonder how any boarding party could stand up straight. Same thing they did to ENTERPRISE when she was being sucked into Doomsday Machine.
ua-cam.com/video/nCWcsm1Oyjc/v-deo.html See beginning time stamp 2:15 on the prior link, not the one above before going on. The early Flash Gorden episode that nobody has acknowledged might have been a precursor to the "Doomsday Machine". Gene Roddenberry, were you also a Flash Gorden Fan? The moment Dr. Zarkov allows his fellow scientist, who is also in shock, has an uncanny resemblance to this episode of Star Trek, the Doomsday Machine.
Thanks. :) I sometimes improvise and change things up a bit, but every time I do, I just don't feel right. Especially since my reputation is mostly known for recreating things to such accuracy.
Soooo you basically just copied CBS-D's work with your own models? I like your models better especially for the planet killer, but you retained all the poor choices the CBS team made. I wish I had your skills so I could make a version that's truer to the original but also still more dramatic like yours
Love how the ships deck lighting is so visible! Well done!

Even without sound like some kind of silent movie it's just great entertainment!!
All these years later, and it still looks good!
I like yours much better than the CBS version. Much closer to the spirit of the original. Well done!
This is better than the original remastering. Fantastic work
Great work Chris. Especially like the detail in the hull of the Doomsday Machine and the damaged Constellation You really captured the spirit of the original show :)
Chris... great job! Best 5:30 minutes I spent all day. LLAP
This is REALLY good. I like how you reflected the nacelle cap lights off the saucer.
HankDrake Thanks.
wow. adding new life to a great classic.
Excellent job, Chris!
This is great Chris, it really rocks and looks better than the studio enhanced version.
Thanks. :)
what a dumb name though, Chris Cunningham, ha,,, :)

Very nice work - looks like what would you would actually see in space.
You guys that do this kind of work! Great!
DAAAAAMN !!!! the u.s.s. Constitution got the stuffing beat out of it. great work on this episode.
Thank you. still, the fact that it could sustain that much damage and still remain mobile is a statement for its builders ^^.
=^.^=
Constelation

Congratulations Chris--you did what I tried to do eleven years ago, and you did it in the span of a few months.
I hate you.
;)

Phenomenal work. Superior to CBS, I must say
Looks good but there ain't no sound.
It's removed for copyright reasons.

outstanding.
I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!! Can u add sound to it please?
I could and would love to, but copyright crap in the past is why I don't add sound anymore.
I understand completely
Nice one!
VideoSpaceFX Thanks. :D
Looks great. Be nice if you could put together the entire episode and not get in trouble
That was a lot of work and love that you put in this project.
Well done. Keep up the good work. :)
Techrat3D Thanks. :D
Great job!
What happened to the sound.. the presentation is remarkable, very nicely done!!!
Copyright

James Avalos Thanks. :)
A+++! Great work!
Shadows are nice and all but what’s the light source for these shadows?
No star nearby?
Hmmm?
Worth the wait!
benvolio15 Thanks.
Very well done!
BygPhattyPlus Thanks.
WOW! Great!
There seems to be no sound on this for some reason.
It was uploaded with no sound, copyright reasons.
Needs to show battle damage on the enterprise asnwell
Well, this video is several years old... I may or may not revisit these shots in the future.

Best tv theme music EHHHHHVURRRRRR!~E
Where's the sound
Removed for copyright reasons.
Not bad.
Uh...there's no sound...
Copyright reasons
Why no sound?
Copyright
I understand
Need sound
At this time, CBS/Paramount was very anal about stuff, so even audio would get some of my videos blocked in some places, mainly Germany.
NO SOUND...!! That kills it. :-(
Yea, I've not included sound for a long time, to reduce the risk of copyright claims and strikes.
Nice work. Would love to see a version when you do more of your own cinematography and less of CBS Digital's. I think you could do better :)
Thanks. :) I sometimes improvise and change things up a bit, but every time I do, I just don't feel right. Especially since my reputation is mostly known for recreating things to such accuracy.
@@ChrissonatorOFL The lighting especially was very good. More realistic.
