Not to be insultive because I love your video but I am jusþ a learner but Miss Debbie doesn't the ketchup and beetroot take away from the original stew peas flavòur? Why worry about colour? Your stew peas look yummy even with the wutlless peas. You teach me a few things such as cutting the meat big because it strink when cooked. The question is not to insult your intelligence. Just asking. When I want to cook something really Jamaican I check out your channel. Anýway as you always say just do me.

I think Stew Peas should be Jamaican National dish. You want to know why? It is the one of the dishes that if your wife or your family telling you they cook stew peas for dinner you are going straight home to eat. No hanging out whatsoever

The Jamaican men dem believe that women can use the stewed peas to 'tie them' (let them fall in love with them and can't leave). 😂. Because of that most men won't eat it from just any female. I don't think there is any truth to it.

When I think this dish is very popular in the Caribbean, but the islands differs in taste. Like for instance in Curacao where I'm from we it sweet instead of saltier. We eat with rice or with funchi( a kinda of polenta)

I tried the Goya brand Dominican red beans in the bag and the red color is amazing and it takes really good. try it you might really like it and happy new year.

I know stew red beans as a child growing up in trinidad I never know it with all that amount of meat they put apiece of pigtails or salt beef to favor it I am not saying Debbie way is wrong but love it l will try it with the beets,
