Here is a blog post summarizing my thoughts on washing your puff quilt, and why I recommend hand-wash only.

I love this blanket! I saw it on ig and just had to make one. Your idea of making it a scraps blanket actually gave me the idea of using my grandmother’s left behind yarn to make a Mother’s Day gift for my mom. This is her first Mother’s Day without her and I think this would be perfect 💕Especially being that my grandmother is the one who taught me to crochet.

This design can go in so many directions depending on color and size. There was a pattern years ago similar to this, but instead of poly fil, clean used nylon hose were used. These days used hose are not as readily available, but I suppose other materials such as thin socks would work if you were looking for something to repurpose. This, of course, might make your squares thinner.
Thanks for sharing this idea. It will be fun to play with the design.

I mean you can use your hook to do the same exact way that you're sewing. It's hard to explain it but it saves time. It's something I taught myself. Another idea something that might add a design flair is crochet them together but use a cool stitch for an outline? Just thinking out loud. I love the quit you created. It's so clever.

I once bought a wieghted neck tube for a replacement of a water bottle. It was filled with cherry seeds. Warmed the thing up in a microwave. Every once in a while i will soak it in water to put moisture back in the seeds. I dont see why a run thru a washer by its self would hurt the washer provided it wasnt a full size blanket or larger. The seeds holds heat for a long time. Thinking i might try this just not fill the pockets full but partially along with the pillow stuffing. Just a thought im having. I bought that neck warmer at a craft show or home/garden show. Those seeds are germ free too.

It’s crazy! I’ve been wanting to do a blanket like this for months, but couldn’t figure out how to make my squares. I’ve tried almost everything that my mind could muster and nothing was working! This is a beautiful pattern!

Hey, you could make bean bags for each square to make it a weighted blanket. There are several different types of things you can use for the weight. I would use the same type of beans that are in beanie babies or other stuffed animals. Using sand can work too. Sand can be heated slightly to make it a heated weighted blanket. This is why I love crocheting and knitting. We can make things that usually are too expensive if we buy them at the store and we can customize everything. I am working on making lacy items from very thin yarn. Also, I already made a unique hoodie slash scarf that is inspired by Little Red Riding Hood, it's black and red with two long arms that can wrap around my neck. 😊❤ I am a Goth so I love handmade items that I can customize. I used to make gifts for my friends and family members when I was younger. I am a speed crocheter so I can crochet a large blanket in two days that can fit a king size bed with added room. The biggest item I ever made was a ten foot blanket for my Dad and Stepmom. My stepmom loves it and she was surprised when it got softer after she washed it and it never faded or lost threads. I used fabric glue on the edges of the blanket and blocked it before giving it to them. ❤

I have knit for years, and will rarely go near a manmade fibre simply because it looks cheap and ugly when knitted up. However, when I started to crochet recently, I found that my wools and other natural fibres didn't look as lovely when crocheted up into amigurumi (in particular) and other projects too. Could you please recommend the sorts of yarn you expert crocheters use? This blanket is gorgeous too, I can't wait to give it a whirl! :D
