My best friend and I rented an excavator for a week . It cost under $2000. We removed over 200 stumps. Then built a 40 x 60 shop following RR Building techniques. We are having a blast. We are in our 60’s. Thanks guys.

Had to double check the date, make sure this wasn't an old video from Apr 1 that showed up on my feed.
Excited that you guys are branching out and diversifying but same time, the builds were what drew me to your channel. Really hope the builds keep coming as I enjoy watching you guys and you've inspired me to try new things on my shop build (little 20x30) and up my game on finishing work.

The builds is their primary focus, this equipment enables them to excavate, drill, prep, etc. and makes an appearance in almost all of their 'start of build' videos. You are right, I would not be interested in seeing videos of them playing in dirt everyday, but as a one off it's nice to see them having fun -- also Kabota makes great machines!

You could build a machine wash pit at your RRHQ. I did one for a dirt bike race shop. I dug a pit two feet deep and added a drain pipe to lower ground. We did the bottom 6" in packed road base, then a 6" layer or drain rock then topped with river rock. Add in a hose connection for a pressure washer and you're golden.

I'm not a builder, but I've always enjoyed the same with my litte Kubota BX22...including doing all the ground prept for my post frame shop building a couple years ago. Any more , I just push it with the loader , till it won't go any farther , then make a big pile out of it . They do make big snow pushers to take the place of your bucket , or a snow blade . Both use your loader arms to mount to your tractor .

A year ago, I rented a Bobcat E35 for a week to work around my home. It was the best thing I've done for my mental health in years.

i think if you hit the trigger on your right stick, your thumb will hold pressure against the bucket, thus fallowing it

I have a KX-080-4S - the weight with a front blade is ~19K. What your going to want to get as an add on is a grading bucket. Maybe one with tilt.

56 hours in a year?? I don't consider that "using it all the time". 🙂 I put twice that amount on my tractor using it only about once a month . I would love to have one of those excavators!! Love the channel.

pretty crazy how we use the machines daily but not all day everyday. we do our work then move on. I also never run machinery just to have it running.

If you unload excavator’s often get in the habit of putting your bucket down and walking it down the ramp

I'm sure operating cool machinery all day is much funner than building post frame all day. Hope you can make the same or better cash.
