I’m doing my very first van build for a customer/friend. I’m doing all the rough in and wiring now, I won’t with a full victron system, 3x 330ah batts, secondary alternator kit. Very expensive but fun to learn. Problem is I wired up this a/c and I can’t get the control pad to light up/ power up unit. Fuses are good, connectors are tight. Instructions offer Zero trouble shooting… I’m stumped 😢

If you connected the main power and the control panel power correctly and it is not working, contact the distributor or manufacturer. Best of luck.

@@VanTransitions I’m so embarrassed, I’ve made probably tens of thousands of crimps in my lifetime… I brought a brand new hydraulic crimping tool for all these large lugs,I made sure I bought all the exact gauge wire they recommend all the proper lugs for that wire, with the proper holes for either the terminals on the distributor or the battery, shrink tubing… everything. Well on the positive cable I somehow accidentally grabbed the next size up of ring terminal and when I crimp it on and did my little pull test it seemed fine, so I put the red shrink tube collar on it and connected it to the distributor. At some point it must’ve pulled out when I was dressing my wires. I couldn’t see it because it was hidden by shrink tube. When trouble shooting I touched my meter to the lug which was getting 12V but the wire wasn’t lol

I haven't used it very much, but it works so far. I can't compare it to other units, no experience with them.

Thanks again for your previous reply. I just wiring mine up and it’s working! But the little battery symbol is flashing and I’m trying to figure that out with the owners manual…but is it possible that this is normal? If the flashing battery symbol means the battery voltage is only a little higher than the shut down value and I’m running a 12v battery bank (4x100ahr) so battery volt is 13.2 and the low volt shutdown is 11.7…..?

Hi Lexx, I haven't gotten that deep yet, you are ahead of me now. There is likely low voltage shutdown protection so the AC unit does not drain your battery all the way. I am not sure if that is a configurable setting or not. If you find out, please share it with us!

Can i connect rtx 2000 to wfco ultra 50amp ?

What is wfco? I think the device came with both 12V and 24V hookup cables. In my case, I have a 12V system and connected it using the 12V cable set.

I am doing my electrical right now and since all spots on my linx distributor are taken I was going to use the end terminals with a terminal fuse for the dometic…can you explain what the little wires go to? I’m confused and trying to learn. Are the little wires optional and if they are not, where would I put them if all the spaces plus the extra terminal extension piece are taken? Thanks.

Hi. You have a couple options. I think Explorist.life has a product to extend an additional fuse on to your LynxD. If you do that or use a LynxD slot like I did, you do not need the midi 80A fuse shipped with the Dometic. If you do want to use what Dometic sent, you can connect the large wires directly to your positive and negative and include their inline 80A fuse. I like the cleanliness of the LynxD so I put the 80A mega fuse in place there and am not using the one Dometic sent.
The little wires (with a 2 amp car style fuse per their instructions) power the control panel on the Dometic. If you take a quick peek at the video again you will note I talk about putting ring terminals on those wires (which comes with it) after I cut the main wire to length (plus 2 ft for just in case). They are also on their appropriate positive and negative bus. Hope that helps.

@@VanTransitions hey thanks for replying. I’ve figured it out finally. I have been following explorist for months now but sometimes I can watch a video 20 times and the concepts just don’t click. But it’s clicking now and I appreciate your reply, it was super helpful.

Thanks for the great video! I don’t think my dometic unit came with the little car style fuse. Is there a way I can put this on myself? What amp fuse would I use?

@@Pwill22prob too late but the small positive wire is fused at 2amps the unit uses an 80amp
