Life at Sea: Navy Submarine

  • Life at sea on a submarine is unlike anything else on earth. It’s a hidden moving missile silo and for Sailors on a mission, it’s home: bit.ly/2Ebv2D1.
    Submariners are highly knowledgeable, skilled engineers and technicians who thrive when challenged. With an air of relentless positivity, they keep our shores safe as the unseen defenders of the deep.

    I spent about a decade on a couple different boats. The memories from that time are some of the best that I have. The submariners bond to one another is unmatched.

      @submariner50 4 роки тому +15

      Yes, as a former submariner who spent over 1,000 days submerged, I can tell you that life aboard a submarine is anything but easy. You work your butt off (mostly mentally) and must be able to adjust quickly to tight quarters, no sunlight, and close human contact with some you would not otherwise get along with outside of that life. Until one is qualified, no gaming or movies.
      It Will test your mettle. I am fortunate enough to have experienced it and to have served my country. I did enjoy my job (missile control center, aboard missile subs) and that career, but did not "love" it at the time (80's and 90's). Good overall camaraderie and food!

      @@ujustgotpwned123able Everyone does not have their own racks. On some they do, others have to hotrack. People are not this happy and chipper on a daily basis. Most do not have an allocated gym and all the space the video is showing to have. The open spaces the video is showing are taken at the very best angle and are the biggest spaces on that boat. You will know the people you work with very well which can be awesome. On the flip side, knowing that someone you might consider a friend is stealing from you and shipmates. Morale can be terribly low, although I'm told this is not the case on most boats. If you are 6ft, your head and heels will simultaneously hit the ends of almost all racks.
      Every sentence said in this video can be independently true. The opposite of every sentence is also true. What bothers me is the perception the video is portraying.
