Ok I tested today and the answer is YEEES. The speed limit in EU is gone and AVATA 2 has fuill power now + FCC signal. Thank you to Dron Tweaks, i will never update the Avata 2 firmware now

The dji website mentions the maximum speed (in manual mode) is limited to 19 m/s. Did you test this already? And if it's true does this hack remove that speed limit?
I am also interested I am in EU and the Avata 2 is useless here in acro mod, the power is totally limited (around 35-40%) less power, you can not even brake the drone after dive. For example it starts to hover with minimum 65% throttle, that is unexpecteble and dangerous to fly in manual. Please tell me that this fcc hack unlocks this as well 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

The CE Avata 2 has amazing range now without any mod as it uses tri-band radio and MIMO. If you put the Avata 2 in FCC mode I'm presuming it removes the 5.1Ghz band that the CE drones have access to but FCC doesnt, 5.1Ghz is a very quiet band and the Avata 2 outputs 200mW in this band. Also the CE Avata 2 uses 2.4Ghz @ 100mW. (Permitted in CE areas)
The difference between CE and FCC range might not be as significant as it once was . DJI have effectively worked around the age old CE output power problem by dynamically switching between 3 bands depending on RF conditions. It's very clever.
Hi Andy, I hope your well. Yes DJI does now use the 5.2ghz band, In fact they actually started to do it on the Avata and O3 after once of the later firmware releases. As you say this band is much less congested than say 5.8Ghz however it is also started to be used for WiFi as well but only on the latest standards.
It’s great to see and with longer wavelength it should offer a little better performance mw to mw over 5.8. However I would still expect the big jump in power to 33dbm to be very noticable improvement especially in complex environments.
The Avata has never been a long range drone so more than anything the power is helpful where people are wanting to fly in concrete/rf restrictive environments.
There is a lot of big changes to the RF behaviour of O4. It’s massively more dynamic than O3 in both rf power and channel selection. It’s frankly incredible that it’s able to move a 60Mhz carrier half way across the 5ghz band and the user not even see a stutter on the screen.
There is still a lot to understand but it’s looking good.
I agree that CE mode works pretty well. a few years ago it was clear to notice if you were in CE or FCC mode - now it's harder to notice.
Mabye if you go out really far, the MBps stay up on 60 longer in FCC mode with more power?
Also I could go thru a lot of trees and bushes with CE mode, wouldnt have worked in prior video links...
didn't see it using 5.1ghz tho...
Goggles3: 2400-2480MHz (small bandwidth, control protocol?)
MotionRC: 4800 - 4950MHz (very smal bandwidth used obviously - RC protocol)
Avata2 comm?: 3300MHz - 3415MHz
O4 Video (on CE mode): 5765-5824MHz (~60MHz high bandwidth and duty cycle!)

Yeah I know, it's really clever isn't it, I was shocked at the range out of the box, flying through a woodland and out the other side, that's what got me interested about what was going on, being a HAM Radio guy and all!
I agree 33dBm(2.0W) is a massive power increase over 14dBm(25mW), not quite as much over 23dBm (200mW) in a quieter band but it's gonna be interesting to test this and I look forward to your findings.

Ok after few videos and post i figured it out ( hopefully i did) first after unpacking and activation, i only updated the the Avata 2 and my remote controller 3 thats it! I left my Goggles alone on the old firmware and just went for test flight to see if i can fly or be restricted due to still running old fw etc! So thats good news ! Then ofcourse i droped HAM file on sd and into the goggles and magic i have 3 channels in manual mode 60hz . Without the ham its locked in auto ! Insert it back bam again 3 channel s hope this helps.
makes sense Ian! I've had my test sample only for a few days, and while the early firmware didn't have the special flip modes, it automatically went into FCC mode for me (since I have those files on all my SD cards per default).
after the firmware it was like you show, greyed out and performin a little less good around the corner ;)
i vote for More avata 2 videos. This power topic fcc vs ce is important if you are living in eu.

I just got my Avata 2 one day and today maid my first ‘maiden flight’ in Normal and Sport mode. Such a great drone it is! However I flown quite some years with my Mavic Air 1, this is my first FOV-like drone. I don’t think I need to fly in Manual mode and will use the motion controller. In this case do you think I will also gain more power and remove the speed limits with this hack or will you only benefit when in Manual mode? Thank you in advance for your response! Regards, Nick
Thank you for this. What a hassle for FCC in Europe. This makes me want to wait to buy Avata 2 until a more permanent FCC fix comes out such as we have for the Avata 1

Hi. I have updated goggles 3, avata 2 and mc 3 to latest firmware in order to not cause any unwanted situations while on the flight. FCC mode was enabled after applied drone tweaks. You don't need to connect fly app before every flight. Just one time is enough to keep in FCC mode. Thank you drone tweaks.

The ham workaround works now with the new DJI fly App!!! Update it to 1.13.1 than put the cfg file on the Goggles and start the Goggles first, then Controller 3 and at last the avata. Full Power even in the motors!!! Thanks 😅 you can pin me 😎🤫

Basically uncontrollable to fly.
This does happen when goggles or drone do not have GPS satellite locked.

There is no help. What you are describing is exactly what should happen when it does not have GPS...
are you flying in a well lit room? Without GPS the drone relies solely on its downward and backward positioning sensors which needs allot of light to work. Hope that helps.
Flew mine around the house today, no gps but it was completely stable.

2.4 should give you the longest range overall.
Do you need the drone tweaks app to make it so you do not have to connect the phone?

I got the avata 2 hoping it would have better range than the avata. I live in EU so CE mode. I mostly fly in the woods, and was very disappointed since the range was more or less exactly as bad. I have the Avata/Integra combo and never got drone tweaks or ham-file to improve the range. I doubt it works with that combo. Anyway, with the avata2/googles3, drone tweaks work! And it works fantastically well! Couldn’t be happier! 🥳

I have just built my first 03 build and no matter what I do, I can't get the fcc ham hack to work on my V2 goggles. I'm in the Netherlands and I've tried everything. New SD card and also tried downgrading the firmware on the AU and goggles but no joy. You are the man with knowledge so wondered if you could give me any tips? Thank you so much!
Will this app remove the Speed limit in Europe?
This limitation in CE region depends by the goggles or the air unit? I mean, when G2/Intergra will be compatible with Avata 2, the ham unlock will be ok or ignored? And this could mean will be the same with O4 air units?
Perhapa, there is also a rumour that avata 2 will be compatible with older goggles version in a month or so.

My DJI FPV never reset back to CE mode when powering off the drone / swapping batteries. Only time it defaults back to CE mode is when I reconnect it to the DJI Fly App. So, I`m not sure why you are saying that other DJI drones reset to CE, whereas this one doesn't when for example changing batteries...

Very good to know that's not yet fixed. I have purchased licence for Mini4 Pro but it was not working at all on Android 14 and even not working on Android 10 or 11 so they send me money back.

No Ham file is FCC power.
In FCC mode if you use the ham file you will get more channels only.
In CE mode with ham you get FCC power and the extra channels.
The only way to get ce mode is if you live there and connect your drone to your phone

Where does the Avata 2 get the mode from? From Factory or by Registering eg. Updating via fly App and based on Location? There Must be a better option than the modified App for those travelling. I should get it today and check if using a VPN with the App makes a difference.
Neither of what you said. It does that every time you boot up and it gets a gps-lock.

Hey, just wondering, does putting it into FCC mode while in Europe violate any terms and conditions? Would it be a problem if i ever needed to use my dji flyaway coverage?
It’s unlikely to affect DJI warranty however there is no grantee.
Can't get this to work i have a freshly formated sd card. Used notepad ++ to create the file and adding it to the sd card I'm powering up googles first then motion 3 and last the avata 2. Still only get 19m/s. :(
You need manual mode (and the controller)

I've heard that the FCC mode hack is reverted when you get a valid set of GPS signals outside. I assume this is due to the devices knowing what region they are physically in.... is that the case?

I will be pulling the sensor out soon as with the Avata DJI shared the same camera module between the Avata and O3 so it will give us an indication. However I will stress there is nothing to say DJI will actually use this camera in O4 it may be just to large.
Hii, i buy fcc dji fly and make ham file.. Before in CE it was only automatic, now in FCC i can put manual and have many channels but I always have automatic, I don't know which one to choose..
Can you look into the 19m/s speed limit it apperently has in EU regions due to it being C1 Certified. Does the FCC hack also remove this speed limit?
yes, up to 27m/s in manual mode in FCC mode
I can confirm ham_cfg_support file does unlock the full speed in CE region

@@Arri. Something about android 14 fragmentation... All I know is that they can't make it work for months now and phones in the likes of samsung flagships are useless with drone tweaks.

You should see 3 in 40/60Mhz mode.
I just received my avat 2 and it has horrible range like 20 feet in front of me at 60hz channel 1080p 120hz it glitches like it doesn't have an antenna do you hVe any ideas what it may be?
That sounds faulty. Make sure it’s all updated. If not return to DJI.

@MadRC its all updated the video drops frames right in front of me it will be at 60hz then I'll turn ithe drone it will glitch and it will drop to 10hz and below flashing the orange screen then it will go back to 60hz .and that's only 20 feet away acts like it doesn't have an anntenna or its on 25mill watts .

What proof do we have that the drone Tweaks hack works? Because according to the video, ham_cfg_support only works for people in FCC zones, and if someone tries to install it in a CE zone, it doesn't work, so you have to fall back on the drone tweaks app, but there's no proof of fcc mode.
I showed the bloody proof on the spectrum analyser. That is literally the RF output from the drone in real time as it switched from CE to FCC. You actually SEE the rf power level change. That is best possible proof there is. It’s not even questionable as it’s completely visible.

Ask me a question, I'm in the CE region (Portugal) and I have free channel mode selection for manual selection. From what the video shows, doesn't that mean it's already in FCC mode? What's more, if I add the ham file, it gives me extra channels. I took it out of the box last night and I still haven't updated it or made any connections to the DJI Fly app modified by Drone Tweaks.
Maybe you got a lucky one? Did you check if you are in the speedlimit in manual mode?
One question: Can you fly it without connected it to the DJI App?
@@Fabi1394. Can I activate manual mode even if I don't have the conventional control? I just have the "movement" one. Yes, I use it without connecting it to the APP, I just connected it to the APP to activate the equipment

I'm in Germany. I took mine out of the box and updated firmware on avata, goggles, joystick and controller. Flew today and in Manual its limited to 19,7m/s. I've just tried ham file and it does NOT put it into FCC mode or open up the channels.
@@dark-mattahyou should not update your goggles firmware. The latest update is what killed the ham file hack. I just got my A2 today just activate mine via FlyApp and skip the update portion. Then insert the SD card with HamFile worked like a charm
The app you are promoting is not working on Android 14, please specify it. I bought and had to ask for a refound because of this aspect.
Ok first of all I’m not promoting it. It’s what we knew worked.
Secondly the fucking mess of android support is not my issue. Investigate before purchasing would be my suggestion.
@MadRC, I understand your point and apologize for incorrectly using the term "promoted" instead of "talked about." Regardless, we are discussing about an OS that was not released recently or still in a beta stage: Android 14 was launched last year, and their website only provides a SMALL note about difficulties with A14, in the FAQ page... The support email informed me that there is no ETA for a fix on A14. I know it's not your fault, but I suggest including a disclaimer in the video, notifying your viewers that only the iOS version is fully operational as specified by you. To be fully honest, thay anyway gave me a full refound on request. Thank you ;-)

In USA. Ham file opened up a few channels in 5.8. but that’s it. I have not noticed any type of increase in our power and that’s all I want so if someone would answer my question that would be great. Will the app increase my RF power? I’m in the United States. Hello someone answer thanks.

On Android you also need to wait until the drone acquires GPS and updates the homepoint before considering the procedure complete.

Would be good if a new modified ham file could be created or another more permanent solution. Asking for a yearly subscription on a hack is a bit much!
Actually today i tested for the first time avata 2 in CE mode and i did "same road" in the middle of my city as i did with avata and goggles 2 fcc mode.
It sounds really strange to me, but can it be real?

No. The DJI remote is not remote ID. It changes nothing on this. Dji standalone FPV does not have standalone remote id.

But this 3rd party dji app probably means goodbye warrenty and dji care?

@@GeorgeWS I have no horse in either race so I’m happy to recommend either. One has both iOS and Android. One is just android. One is cheaper but annual. It’s very much 6 of one and half a dozen of the other.
@@MadRC yeah I get you but with everything that is a subscription based it's just a put off. After 12mnths you have to pay for upgrades and it all adds up if you're using the same drone. Whereas the other is a one off. I've never bought a subscription based service and never will. I appreciate the fpv community such as WTFOS/B3VL who go above and beyond in getting us hacks etc and have donated to those guys and would rather pay more to them than DT. Hell I've bought you coffee too 😂 for all the help you have guided me with FPV and have to the same with the BETAFLIGHT/JB etc cause I appreciate the gift of service you lot provide and apply gratitude accordingly. Each to their own but for me, TW subscription model is such a turn off....would gladly provide sponsored coffee to you and others instead!
DRONE TWEAK FCC APP IS NOT COMPATIBLE WITH LATEST ANDROID VERSION!!!! at least not for now! I had to learn this the hard way!
I don't think the app works on android 14. Just bought and paid for it on my s24 ultra and the app crashes on startup 😔
Have you contacted the costumer support? Keep us updated please i have extra channels thanks to the ham but as per this video it doesn't output full rf signal 😮 so i guess drone tweaks could help here

Hey Ian, apparently Care Refresh is affected according to DJI flyaways are not covered at all as the logs they use cannot be obtained through the third party apps so they void it completely, accidental damage claims could be refused for using third party apps but flight footage may be accepted if they feel the third party app was not the cause so be cautious of this when using the unofficial app or get a different insurance like Coverdrone rather than care refresh 👍
So the dev clearly say it is still covered. What logs should they want to obtain when I fly without the app anyway?
I don’t know pal it’s what DJI said, may be scare mongering so I don’t use the app but i personally purchased care refresh so don’t want to risk it, if you haven’t got care refresh just get Coverdrone and your covered either way, would be good if Ian could confirm if it still logs your flights correctly in your own fly account as that’s all I think they need 👍
