yes i appreciated that too, completely agree re the fully swivelling mask instead of the cameras and there needs to be a eye lens cover 100%, they will sell like hotcakes on temu haha. I think the resolution of the goggles is way better though.
First time that I feel a DJI REVIEW deserves my compliment! This is a frank honest assessment without the too common claptrap. Please keep up making great videos, thank you.
Hi Andrea, Avata 2 has C1 class and 19 m/s velocity limitation. 19:31 Did you use FCC mod to achieve high speed or it was just a wind? You mentioned less power - looks like DJI limited speed by the power output and outside EU should be much better.
First time seeing your videos. (I liked and subscribed). Thank you for honestly pointing out the good and the not so good things you discovered. I'd already ordered my Avata 2 prior to seeing your video and you helped put my mind at ease with your candor. I've been flying the Mini 3 Pro for 2 years now and am so looking forward to my first FPV. Living on the waters edge of Vancouver Island, I love flying up and down the shore filming the waves as they come in. I'm really looking forward to feeling like I'm right there where the action is with the FPV.
Appreciate the honest opinion on the drone! now I know more about what to expect (especially that control stick) and definitely helps in deciding to buy that FPV controller
After watching 10 videos about DJI Neo and Avata, I thought I was the only one thinking that those flipping stuff are totally useless. Thanks for that more realistic, real life, and fun review. 😄👍
I am so impressed when it comes to steep diving with the Avata 2 over the Avata 1 it flies down so much more smoothly and a lot better. The Avata 1 will struggle shack and generally freak out when you do the same. They actually made it better in Normal and Sports Mode to use the motion lotion controller over the Controller 2 & 3.
The reason they include the motion controller is it costs 1/3 the price of the fpv controller. It's the cheapest thing they can put in the box. It also means you will be spending at least another $300 in the near future you wouldn't have if they included it to begin with.
Yes, but the price from the factory mass production will be 2$ for the motion controller and 4$ for the FPV one, so not including a kit with it it's greedy They could also maybe sell it at 20$ premium for that kit and call it a day
As a retired aircraft pilot, that has used a side stick for thousands of hours, the motion controller is fantastic. Learning curve for new people to drone flying is the main reason I think it's included. The skills the presenter demonstrates at high speeds with the 'standard' controller were exceptional. He must have years of experience to fly like he did. Very small Percentages of users therefore need the 'precision' he demonstrates, I simply don't want to take those risks, and find the hand controller perfect for the kind of safe flying I can enjoy.
I've been wanting to move into FPV for a longtime and after how fluid you were with the sticks I think I'll buy the remote with the fly more. Great thorough video. Thanks!
So many fpv pilots really liked the motion controller... or said so atleast. Refreshing to hear its gimmicky maybe not for beginners but for practiced pilots I dont think theyll seriously use the motion controller..
I have tried all the motion controllers so far and it's the same as the old ones basically, it's fun to use for a while but it's not better in any way compared to the real radio and you eventually grow tired of it It maybe made sense with the original DJI FPV, that could fly super fast up in the air and not worry about obstacles so much, but for a cinewhoop that flies low it's not precise enough Even for beginners the real radio is better imho, better control, better safety, they are going to be able to fly much closer to obstacles and through them, also it has a big progression to be made, up to flying acro, and the ability translates to and from any other drone on
Actually when you do dives now in the N&S Modes the dives are much cleaner than using these modes with the Controller 3. You can get different views and angles with the combo of motion controller and head tracking. Where the controller 3 just cannot at this time. Controller 3 truly shines because of manual mode which is the real reason we all buy the Controller 2 and 3 to begin with. The Avata 1 absolutely sucked in these deep dive shots because it would freak out and shack and bounce around. The Avata 2 doesn’t have these issues. Going between the Motion Controller and Controller 3 gives us a nice advantage for some sweet shots or just kick back fly and have fun 🤩
Yeah good point, at least in descending the motion controller makes stuff easier, it takes quite a bit of experience to do the same on the regular remote! True also that the old avatar had more shake!
Yea I don't think it's really a fair comparison to compare something you spend 100s hours on to something you spend 5 minutes on. He also basically hasn't even tried head tracking combined with flying in a different direction, which is one of the things those others did and liked. He had his opinion before using it and didn't give it a chance. It might still be bad, but this review simply doesn't review it really. Would be interesting to put a complete beginner to use the motion controller and the normal remote, both for 5 minutes and see which flight looks smoother and safer.
I literally love your review. This was the most honest review i saw till now among all other reviewers. Very pro level review with conplete honesty. Pls keep making such videos . Love from Bharat 🙏🇮🇳
Thank you so much! I like the drone but many choices by DJI have been not the best and gotta report it! Especially because this is my travel drone and have to deal with the bad gear
Honestly, I'm a fan of the easy acro mode. It's not just a gimmick for sales. For us FPV beginners, pulling off cool aerial tricks isn't a walk in the park, and this mode helps without making things too complicated. And can't deny it, this will indeed spice up my flying experience.
I totally believe is a cool experience! And it's true that doing it in manual takes skill, and it's better to have a easy mode rather than not of course! I say useless regarding to video recording purposes, as you will have to learn real manual to integrate acro smoothly into videos And still I believe that they could integrate it into the classic radio and teach people gradually how to do acro, so one can have more confidence and learn something useful, ability that translates to any other drone
its more or less a gimmick as its the drone pulling off the move not you, and its not really graceful enough to use for video purposes either. Its too quick but definitely fun to experience for someone who can't yet do flips in manual
@@Rimzler I somewhat agree the 2 easy acro modes are just gimmicks, but I don't agree with the RC motion 3 being useless. I have only shot 1 video with mine so far, but found it very useful, very smooth, and the learning curve was minutes. I actually loved flying with it. Here is my first vid from the Avata 2 w/RC Motion 3 - you can skip ahead to around 2:14 to get the Sport Mode footage with the RC Motion 3 controller. ua-cam.com/video/-joYQvb4r5o/v-deo.html
Great review as always, brother. I love the fact that you are always giving your honest opinion on the situation. It made me realize that I still want to get this, but it will not replace any of the cinewhoops my FPV fleet.
Avata2 or Cinebot25 or DarkStar20 I have been flying in liftoff for more than 50 hours with radiomaster boxer, and mobula 6 in acro mode for 2 months plus. The reason I am getting cinewhoop is because I will be flying indoor and for safety purpose since it comes with prop guards, and not ready for extreme stunts moves at the moment. 1. Do u think I should get the avata2 or cinebot25 S or DarkStar20? Or any better choice for beginner? 2. Is the Integra Goggles still a good choice for now? Since Goggles 3 dont support O3 air unit and Integra's price has reduced. Thanks in advance!
Well I suggest waiting, as all the drones that have o3 now, will get o4 in the near future probably, so having a small o4 one will be incredible! AVATA 2 is very versatile, I suggest waiting for it as the old gear may become compatible with it!
Get mate thanks for the review, did dji fix this issue with the roll, the drone freaked out on me 3 times in like 4 flights lol, it doesn't like to yaw fast or any rolls or dives! Some sensors must be on
Shockingly windy! I actually think it handled that wind really well that wind is serious. I just got my RC today, I agree that once you know how to fly with a real RC there’s no going back, it just feels limited. I also agree that the integra or googles 2 feel better than these new goggles but if range is better I’ll get used to them haha! Of the three goggles I love the integra and wish it were compatible. Hope it will be with future updates
Yeah it's crazy how both avatas hold wind! I tested the old one in the worst places and I always was shocked! I do really hope they make the old stuff compatible
Looking to buy one and your opinions are just what I needed to hear most. Thank you so much! Also I found it's funny when you found the dog was digging hole! Lol
Hi, thank you very much for the review, i love your accent, it is so much fun to watch 😅! About the goggles 3, you got a point here, but for me the smaller screen is better, because with the goggles 2 i get really dissy, i bought 4 pad and it didn’t help at all! The goggles 3 fits nicely, but i don’t know in time what happens to the rubber pad! And the quality if the camera is just amazing, i think it will be a game changer… thanks again man and happy chasing your chickens 😂
Have you tried changing the Gain/Expo settings for the Motion Controller? That may smooth out your video... Just a thought, I don't claim to be an expert.
So I finally got the RC3 sticks adjusted properly and am about to get full acro.. I'm just curious, will that tutorial prompt with putting the 2 sticks on the green line to unlock full manual stop showing up after so many unlocks. I hope so because that is highly annoying lolol.
No it never stops showing, it's not a tutorial, but a environment to adjust camera angle and put throttle at the point of hover There Is a way to remove it modifying the parameters through drone hacks, but I don't know if it works on the AVATA 2 yet
Thank you. I've been waiting for an honest review instead of the mainstream UA-camrs who only speak about the benefits without including any nuance or downsides. I trusted them last time when I bought the Avata 1, and paid the price. I appreciate your honesty and helpful suggestions. 🙏
Hi Andrea , I'm just about to start my journey in the FPV drone. I ordered a Jumper Bumblebee ELSR controller so I can start practicing on a simulator. I would like to purchase the dji goggles 2 but i don't know how is it to pair them with another FPV drone ? My goal is to be able to shoot for commercial purposes once I feel confident. Do you have a suggestion which drone i should get for commercial shootings and which digital goggles gives the best experience?
Does it get tossed around by the wind a lot easier than the avata 1 because it's lighter weight? Also, if you implement the joystick with the motion control you can perform some really good shots. Most just use the trigger and motion sensor in the controller but forget to utilize the joy stick for the best experience and performance
yes I also find other reviewers and on the forums not utilizing the joystick just toe motion controller, I'll play around with it once mine got delivered next week, hopefully googles 3 and motion control 3 becomes available in DJI fly sim so I don't mess around with the drone in real life and risk crashing it.
The wind impacts it a bit more than AVATA 1, still not bad for what it is! I tried using the joystick but it seems to create very robotic manouvers, I wish it was better programmed to be smoother
@@RimzlerUse the headtracking and think of it like your YAW on the left stick. Focus and follow an object with your head, then lean in the turn with your wrist, its super smooth and you have much more resolution than on the sticks, i have a video on my account of the headtracking with the avata 1
Good honest review. Personally, I think the new goggles are way more comfortable than all my other "traditional FPV goggles. It probably has a lot to do with face/head shape, but I feel like they're way more "locked on" than traditional gogs, and the FOV is at the limit of what I can get in frame. You do know you can tighten them with the dial on the back, right? Other than that, I think you nailed it.
They are comfier than stock goggle 2, but not aftermarket for me, yeah I tightened to the point of hurting, but it has a smaller contact area compared to the old anyway, and in some situations they will shake, but that's a niche use! Like now I am shooting a car parade and will need to fly from inside another car, that's a concern! For sure I like innovation, but I see too many obvious improvements, like make them swivel all the way up, and add a couple mounting points for aftermarket parts They should give people the choice to personalize their fit, and maybe they can even sell all the different inexpensive attachments and sell for a premium, I wouldn't criticize that much then
With the motion controller, you tilt it up and down to go up and down. You can do full vertical with it. You don't really use the little joystick when flying, lol.
I'm totally green with drones stuff so I have a question. Do they make a graphene battery already for this drone or lithium-ion only? 23min flight time? is pretty much standard I guess? Nothing fancy when you keep in mind half of that time required for return to starting position then it's even worst.
So far we have 2 major battery chemistries (99.9%) for drones: The most common is the Lithium polymer LiPo, it's the sack shaped ones that are less energy dense but can deliver a ton of amps of discharge at once, used in FPV and most drones like avata 1/2 mavics etc There are some small variations some including a bit of graphene as conductor layer but it's mostly marketing gimmicks and don't make a perceivable difference The other is lithium ion Li ion cells shaped like regular batteries with metal casing, for more efficient applications, they are more energy dense and can be discharged to a lower voltage, but can deliver a lot less amps at once, so if you push the throttle they don't deliver They are found in the Mavic mini 1, DJI FPV I believe and some long range FPV drones, also electric vehicles bikes scooters and skates In FPV 23 minutes is a lot, most regular FPV drones fly 4/5/6 minutes We are all waiting for a battery tech breakthrough that allows more energy to be stored in less space and weight!
are you in CE mode? I am still waiting for my a2 to arrive and kind of worried about the penetration of the video transmission as I live in CE region and from the forums I read that the FCC ham file is not working for A2 on the latest firmware version when you are on a CE region.
I tested in ce mode first and was wondering if it was FCC, because damn it performs very good, but then putting it in FCC through drone tweaks FCC DJI fly, the signal is a lot better!
You don’t have rear obstacle sensors! It’s just for indoor precise vision positioning… also: if you use real vision while flying,it will cancel the dvr recording, so probably you will crash without an idea where. For me the g3 worked better in term of ergonomics, but I agree, I too need imax fov ;) Gimbal is really helpful for filming. Slowly fly downwards into the woods, not possible without gimbal…. Greets, good to see your videos perform really well now, well deserved man!
I bet they will make the rear sensors available in an update, will be super useful for tracking backwards! I wished they gave us strap mounting options on the goggles and let us decide!
I like that you name things like you see them: The "motion ontroller" a "marketing gimmik" and that you call the automatic roll function "useless". And I loved to hear you say "I am scared of drone who fly automatically". It's the best summing up of all these gimmiks. Great video!!
I just got the Avata 2 last week, it's my first real drone other than basically a toy drone I bought on Temu for like $25. I'm loving my experience with the Avata 2. To me the motion controller makes flying very intuitive since it basically replicates an add-on flight stick for a lot of consoles like PS5 or Xbox. While I intend to eventually buy the separate flight controller, I'm in no hurry to get it. The Avata 2 is very easy for a complete beginner to use and then as your skills increase you can eventually get the separate sticks flight controller and use the manual flight mode. This drone might not be the right one for everybody but it was the exact right one for me since I am having so much fun with it! Just my 2 cents.
@@mikepatton8691 It's great to hear that you have big fun with your new Avata 2! Thats what it all is about! I guess you plan is very well: to learn to fly this drone intuitive and with time step up! Every pilot has different needs and expectations and it's great that you found your way and have fun!
Thank you! I don't feel like I made a negative review, I like the updates on the drone a lot and can't wait to use it for an upcoming rally job, yet I am griping about the downgrades that are gonna make my experience less pleasant, also I will need to carry 2 radios and 2 goggles because stuff is not intercompatible
One the auto function on the Motion Controller the only ones I think are really good to have is the side to side and the 180 because they are great for helping you with good shots where the Motion Controller would normally fail in. The rolls are all gimmicks and for show. They don’t have any real purpose where the 180 and side shots do. You can use head tracking and focus on an object and use the slide function that will actually give you a nice orbit around your subject. Pretty cool stuff. 😊
Motion Controller may makes some move easier yes that's true, but only individually, if you are flying and want to have a good flow you still need the regular radio imho
Good honest review. I can't argue with anything you said other than I don't have a big of a problem with the new goggles. If DJI make the old goggles compatible with the avata 2 I will try them both and see which works best in work situations. I didn't get the FPV remote 3 yet - hoping DJI will make the remote 2 compatible eventually, or make the remote 3 compatible with O3 so I can just have one remote.
Yes I really hope they give us choices, because in the end fit is personal as everyone has different head shapes, but giving options is the best way to deal with it
Appreciate your candor. As someone looking for their 1st drone though, the controller 3 you complain about so much is actually part of what attracted me to it. The dual stick controllers are intimidating to someone who has never used them and IMO I would probably crash a drone more frequently with the sticks while getting up.to speed with the learning curve than with the controller 3. Pretty sure that's why they made it - to get newbies into the game. Sure I'll get the stick controller at some point but to be able to fly out of the box by someone who has never used a drone before I think it is more intuitive and will draw a lot larger beginner base. Why are the ground and positioning sensors only on the back though? I imagine 99% of crashes are from froward motion...so why no front sensors or object avoidance?
Sticks may look daunting at first but on a drone like the avata, that hovers super precise and gives you all the time to think, I think that only takes maybe an extra hour to get the hang of with no real risk of crashing in an open field, and that's a skill that translates to all the other drones out there They didn't even implement the back collision avoidance yet, so it doesn't have obstacle avoidance... That's because of price, that's why I hope they make a pro version with more features
@Rimzler Thanks for the reply! NO collision avoidance at all? Maybe I should buy a mini4Pro + the googles3 instead? MP4 has 360 collision avoidance and will qirkmw thr Goggles 3 I believe, right? Would that help keep me from crashing, (could FPV throught the woods)? ..or is the MP4 really just a totally different functionality / experience? Where are you from? Beautiful surroundings. Orchards?
Thank you. Excellent honest opinion about the product! Damn, I recently bought two drones with o3, and the o4 has already come out, which is better. What should I do now...
Thank you! Well o4 is not out yet, only found in AVATA, don't even know if it's gonna fit as the cam seems bigger, so companies will have to design new frames😓
Even though this is not a traditional FPV drone that you can freestyle with, would you say it can be a good beginner drone to do light freestyle and still experience the fun of FPV? I’m not into cinematic, I just like flight and the thrill. I don’t want to have to buy a bunch of batteries, controllers, use beta flight, etc. Can I still have fun and get a rush from this drone? Would you recommend it for someone like me who just wants to get out and fly?
Bro. Cheers from California! Didn't know how much more control you get with the regular controller. I like the want thingy but now I'm tempted to try the real co troller. Alos.. bought the single battery one.... wondering if I should have bought the fly more with 3 batteries
With the regular controller is a path, you have to gain experience in normal and sport, probably you will be proficient in a week, then you need to practice manual on a simulator for a little bit 1/2/3 weeks, once you are proficient in the sim try the real thing and boom in a couple months you are a manual pilot and believe me is a blast!
Well it is the best action cam Cinewhoop out there at this point, maybe doesn't fly as good as the 3.5 inches, but damn used as a cinewhoop is incredible, lighter and is like having a tiltable osmo action 4
I have the Avata 1, but the fpv controller 2 isnt in stock since forever, in a future firmware update, will the FPV controller 3 be able to connect with the avata 1
Random question but here it is anyway. I have the Cinebot 25, which is bound to my Goggles 2 and Radiomaster Boxer. Now I want to sell my Cinebot 25 to a friend because I bought another drone. How do I unbind the goggles and the controller from the o3 air unit in my Cinebot25? Everytime I start my gear and the Cinebot 25 is nearby it automatically connects to it.
i am looking for my first FPV drone and i was really looking into the cinebot30 but this one looks good as well. i want it for indoor recording mostly for music events and also some outdoor shots as well for making videos and such. what is your personal recommendation ? pros cons ?
Thanks for your honest and professional optinion once again! You awnserd all my questions to the drone. I also hope its get sold separately and gets googles 2 support, than im buying it for some video stuff. And im exited about the Airunit O4, better than GoPro sounds amazing :D Can you maybe do an comparison -> O3 recording vs Avata 2 vs GoPro? Would be very interesting :)
It is sold separately, I believe compatibility is gonna come soon and can't wait! I have a job coming for a week, when I'm back I will make the comparison thanks!
Because DJI changes what works and what's customizable like that, and they decide that this is what the new generation offers, I have to use them everyday and the old ones were more convenient I wish they allowed different mounting options so people could choose
How is the clarity in the goggles? Is it like the 1080p.. ish view at 7:21 in your video? I've been flying drones since DJI Phantom 1. Yes, I'm that old. I'm on the fence on this only because I have not used goggles before. I always use my Ipad.
@@len9483 yes it's not like vr goggles, it's like looking at the monitor, but the picture is perfect. I never flew fpv before, but uploaded my first flight yesterday on my channel. Have a look. I was flying with motion controller and wasn't expecting it to be that easy. If you planning to buy one you won't be disappointed.
EXACTLY! The motion controller is funny for a while and I get it, but it doesn't compare to the real controller. I had to wait a week to get the real controller and once I got it, I will never use the other one again. But I might let other people play with the other one. But the oddest thing is that Acro with the Controller 3 is really crazy easy... maybe I just got really good with Acro over the winter but holy cow, it worked really well for me. And I LOVE the Goggles, so that's a personal thing that each individual will have to decide.
Yes I think they should focus on teaching people gradually to use the radio and transition into manual! It would be an incredible experience sold that way! And the ability will translate to all the other drones! Yeah goggle fit is subjective, but adding a couple mounting points for regular straps and let people decide even better, stuff is not cheap
Thanks for the honest review! Can you please share in which country have you filmed the video and if you have applied the FCC unlock? Your top speed in manual would suggest that its either not shot in EU or that the speed limit is not enforced or you have the hack.
I tested flying without hack first and did not feel the difference in speed too much, also the signal is pretty good in ce, but yes i applied the hack before the video, check the description!
@@Rimzleri guess your drone has an early development firmware. I guess if you update the firmware. You’ll be in CE mode with half the power and 1/4th transmission power. 🤷♂️
I bought it knowing I wouldn't like the motion controller. The gimbal is what sold me. Being able to adjust it on the fly without having to build some servo based monstrosity is gold.
@Rimzler if we're honest the head tracking doesn't really work properly with this machine because of the 1 axis nature of the gimbal. I found the limits of it's ability very quickly. If you're just hovering around it's fine, but soon as you push it the tracking comes unstuck.
@@SickocrowAU yes absolutely, but I would love to be able to control up and down tilt with it while using the controller, shouldn't be so hard for DJI considering that all the input are mixed through the goggles already
Hey mate, my avata 2 arrived today. Set everything up but was disappointed from the M Mode, can’t even to a split S in manual mode. Do you have a rates recommendation?
What would you think about a guy new to fpv or drones in general getting this avata2? I'm thinking of getting it as I see the learning curve is better. Also I would get the bundle with RC and goggles so when i finish building my 5" i can get an O3 air unit and don't have to buy another goggles/RC... Again, total newbie here, maybe I'm talking crap. Thanks
i can fly easely, smooth an without any stopp an correcture. you just dont have to press the trigger that much, take it easy and you can fly smooth and under full controll... and you dont need to have your arm this high, you can fly easely seating with your arm on your leg without any stress. i like it very much. i can fly trough my apartement, trough cars, 10cm above the floor, everything pretty easy...
I don't have doubts about it, and it's even fun, but I believe DJI should have provided it as an accessory, and made the main input the usual radio, it's even easier to use, and has a higher skill ceiling, also it will translate to any other drone
Mine is far better still, but I have yet to find a damn company that makes the motors! They are either ignoring me or ripping me off ahahah I'm gonna try and reboot the project making the same thing for the AVATA 2, they should use the same motors
They made the right marketing choices, their goal is make a product that sells well, we in the FPV niche have other needs that are not well met, and doesn't make sense financially I believe
I literally just received and set up my RC3. I followed the directions that said to tighten the screw behind the left stick to release the tension for the throttle. I tightened the screw to the point where it won't go anymore and there is still a tiny bit of spring left where the stick does not stay all the way down. I'm just curious is that normal or should I be doing something different.. awesome video thank you again
@@Rimzler so I was able to unlock manual mode, but the drone flies like it's in angle mode. The drone wants to self-level. How do I get it in full acro? Thank you for the help
Hi! I read that the Googles 2 and Controller 2 are going to be compatible with the Avata 2 with a software update. So, with your great review, I think the best, having the Avata 1, could be buy just the Avata 2 and keep my Googles 2 and Controller 2. What do you think? Thanks for your video!
I have a question, i am without EU, i bought my Avata 2 here, i assume it's in CE (or C1?) Mode... At the moment i comeback to my country (Venezuela, Latinamerica) should my dron put in FCC Mode automatically? Or should i do it "manually"? Also before to go back to my country i will visit Indonesia, i guess the dron will put automatically in FCC Mode too? Thanks a lot in advance
Hola Andrés tengo unas dudas que quisiera me ayudaras a solventar sobre este avata 2 ya que quiero hacer mi primera compra y estoy indeciso entre DJI o walksnail
Hi, how were you able to reach 100km/h in Italy, I also live in Italy and with HAM file activated (able to change channels/frequency) in full unrestricted manual mode (no attitude limit) it only goes up to 15-16m/s. Do you know how to fix this? Thank you!
Death Roll yaw washout improved at least… hmm, I had the avata 1, and it was a dangerous drone, because of the yaw washout. This seems to be a little bit better, maybe I will try it. Thank you very much for this review
The motion control review seems like its just because youre not used to it, youve been using the sticks for a while so thats what feels natural to you. the motion control can easilly allow you to get some great shots and track targets while also doing some precise flying .... when youve practiced. The remote is gonna give you much more control but also disables a bunch of decent features which are good for cinematic flying. if you need casual flights where film is the priority , use the motion control if yo uwant the regular fpv style, use the fpv remote
Finally an honest review by an experienced pilot that’s not been scripted by DJI 🙏🏼
Thank you! I don't know what happens when they sponsor you, I think people should still be free to talk how they feel
My feeling as the credits rolled
yes i appreciated that too, completely agree re the fully swivelling mask instead of the cameras and there needs to be a eye lens cover 100%, they will sell like hotcakes on temu haha. I think the resolution of the goggles is way better though.
Those sponsored are not scripted.

Ahahahhaha thank you! Well chicken chase is a standardized test that all the drones have to go through when I make the review!
Hi Andrea, Avata 2 has C1 class and 19 m/s velocity limitation. 19:31 Did you use FCC mod to achieve high speed or it was just a wind? You mentioned less power - looks like DJI limited speed by the power output and outside EU should be much better.
I tried with and without FCC hack, same speeds in my case, don't know if even with the FCC hack max power output is limited, but it shouldn't

Finally an honest review. Please make more. I just bought mine and I enjoy your commentary
One of the best reviews on this drone thank you!
Always bringing good stuff of all fpv pilots out there. Thanks man.
That is very true, it's a lot more stable!
The reason they include the motion controller is it costs 1/3 the price of the fpv controller. It's the cheapest thing they can put in the box. It also means you will be spending at least another $300 in the near future you wouldn't have if they included it to begin with.
Yes, but the price from the factory mass production will be 2$ for the motion controller and 4$ for the FPV one, so not including a kit with it it's greedy
They could also maybe sell it at 20$ premium for that kit and call it a day
A great balanced review with some good perspectives.
Thank you so much!☺️☺️
It’s your review we are all waiting for honest and what we need to hear. Thanks mate. 👍
Happy you agree with my opinions ☺️☺️☺️
Liked and subscribed because of the honest review, your personality and the great hair!🤪
Ahahahah thank you so much! 😂😂💇♂️💇♂️💇♂️💇♂️
Now this is the real unbiased review lol! Very blunt no sugar coating ! Subscribed !
Thank you so much! I have to use this gear everyday so I really care about it
I like your honest reviews man. Really cool. Other people just say everything is the BEST. I hate that. EVERY drone they review is the BEST.
All things have pros and cons, everybody will weight and make an informed choice
Hi! Can you look straight down with the camera while the drone is stationary in the air?
Yes but you see a bit of the frame, if you are moving you dont
I have tried all the motion controllers so far and it's the same as the old ones basically, it's fun to use for a while but it's not better in any way compared to the real radio and you eventually grow tired of it
It maybe made sense with the original DJI FPV, that could fly super fast up in the air and not worry about obstacles so much, but for a cinewhoop that flies low it's not precise enough
Even for beginners the real radio is better imho, better control, better safety, they are going to be able to fly much closer to obstacles and through them, also it has a big progression to be made, up to flying acro, and the ability translates to and from any other drone on
Actually when you do dives now in the N&S Modes the dives are much cleaner than using these modes with the Controller 3.
It's not gimmicky I csn 100% get shots with the motion controller that he can't get in manual mode or with any other fpv drone.
Thank you so much for being you and for creating this video as well brother, cheers.
I love you're honesty with all of you're reviews. Keep up the great videos. I feel like I know your garden better than my own! 👌👌🤣
Thank you for watching! Ahahah also all the chicken hideout spots!
Thank you for your honest words about the Avata2! Finally, someone talks about stuff that really matters! Great Video!
Isnt the headtracking + motion controller setup ideal for close inspection of tight spots? Snapping pictures.
You can do the same with FPV controller, maybe even more precise by turning the back wheel to adjust Camera angle
I say useless regarding to video recording purposes, as you will have to learn real manual to integrate acro smoothly into videos
And still I believe that they could integrate it into the classic radio and teach people gradually how to do acro, so one can have more confidence and learn something useful, ability that translates to any other drone
its more or less a gimmick as its the drone pulling off the move not you, and its not really graceful enough to use for video purposes either.
@@thomaswalker33 acro mode is great to have I have used it once or twice and I don't Wana use it again unless I'm trying to pickup
@@leveractive mini for videos and scenic shots. Avata for fun.
thank you for the honest review, can you fly the avata 2 with the old rc2?
Thanks for tuning in! Not yet, I hope it will be possible
Great review as always, brother. I love the fact that you are always giving your honest opinion on the situation. It made me realize that I still want to get this, but it will not replace any of the cinewhoops my FPV fleet.
Avata2 or Cinebot25 or DarkStar20
I have been flying in liftoff for more than 50 hours with radiomaster boxer, and mobula 6 in acro mode for 2 months plus.
I appreciate this test review, and enjoy you not holding back this video is gonna help adjust my decision of if buying this is worth it or not
I suggest waiting a couple months, DJI usually refines the products and eventually makes it compatible with old stuff
Looking to buy one and your opinions are just what I needed to hear most. Thank you so much! Also I found it's funny when you found the dog was digging hole! Lol
I really appreciate your review, you saved me 1200 bucks, thank you. I will pass it on.
Ahahahhahaha the drone is worth it imho, just wait if and when the old gear will be compatible, it will be much cheaper
Yes you can smooth it out a bit but still not incredibly precise
So I finally got the RC3 sticks adjusted properly and am about to get full acro.. I'm just curious, will that tutorial prompt with putting the 2 sticks on the green line to unlock full manual stop showing up after so many unlocks. I hope so because that is highly annoying lolol.
No it never stops showing, it's not a tutorial, but a environment to adjust camera angle and put throttle at the point of hover
There Is a way to remove it modifying the parameters through drone hacks, but I don't know if it works on the AVATA 2 yet
It's not a tutorial prompt. It's a safety mechanism so you don't engage manual mode and instantly go into a freefall before you are ready.
Thank you guys! One other quick question with the RC3. When landing in manual mode is there a disarm button or do you have to land in normal mode?
Thank you. I've been waiting for an honest review instead of the mainstream UA-camrs who only speak about the benefits without including any nuance or downsides. I trusted them last time when I bought the Avata 1, and paid the price. I appreciate your honesty and helpful suggestions. 🙏
а авату-2 стал покупать или отказался?
Hi Andrea ,
I'm just about to start my journey in the FPV drone.
For sure I like innovation, but I see too many obvious improvements, like make them swivel all the way up, and add a couple mounting points for aftermarket parts
They should give people the choice to personalize their fit, and maybe they can even sell all the different inexpensive attachments and sell for a premium, I wouldn't criticize that much then
With the motion controller, you tilt it up and down to go up and down. You can do full vertical with it. You don't really use the little joystick when flying, lol.
This is the review I've been waiting for
Thank you for the trust☺️☺️
I'm totally green with drones stuff so I have a question. Do they make a graphene battery already for this drone or lithium-ion only? 23min flight time? is pretty much standard I guess? Nothing fancy when you keep in mind half of that time required for return to starting position then it's even worst.
So far we have 2 major battery chemistries (99.9%) for drones:
The most common is the Lithium polymer LiPo, it's the sack shaped ones that are less energy dense but can deliver a ton of amps of discharge at once, used in FPV and most drones like avata 1/2 mavics etc
There are some small variations some including a bit of graphene as conductor layer but it's mostly marketing gimmicks and don't make a perceivable difference
The other is lithium ion Li ion cells shaped like regular batteries with metal casing, for more efficient applications, they are more energy dense and can be discharged to a lower voltage, but can deliver a lot less amps at once, so if you push the throttle they don't deliver
They are found in the Mavic mini 1, DJI FPV I believe and some long range FPV drones, also electric vehicles bikes scooters and skates
In FPV 23 minutes is a lot, most regular FPV drones fly 4/5/6 minutes
We are all waiting for a battery tech breakthrough that allows more energy to be stored in less space and weight!
are you in CE mode? I am still waiting for my a2 to arrive and kind of worried about the penetration of the video transmission as I live in CE region and from the forums I read that the FCC ham file is not working for A2 on the latest firmware version when you are on a CE region.
I tested in ce mode first and was wondering if it was FCC, because damn it performs very good, but then putting it in FCC through drone tweaks FCC DJI fly, the signal is a lot better!
@@Rimzler awesome! Thank you for the update and for the awesome review as always!
Solid review thank bud 👏👏👏👍👍👍
Thank you for watching!
You can't change the whole thing. You have to send it back to dji for repairs. And it still suffers from the yaw snap issues
That's a real shame considering it's brittler than the old one! The yaw shakes sometime, but it's not the crazy tumble it did before at least
You don’t have rear obstacle sensors! It’s just for indoor precise vision positioning… also: if you use real vision while flying,it will cancel the dvr recording, so probably you will crash without an idea where.
For me the g3 worked better in term of ergonomics, but I agree, I too need imax fov ;)
Gimbal is really helpful for filming. Slowly fly downwards into the woods, not possible without gimbal…. Greets, good to see your videos perform really well now, well deserved man!
I bet they will make the rear sensors available in an update, will be super useful for tracking backwards!
I wished they gave us strap mounting options on the goggles and let us decide!
hi Rimzler i like your videos very much, but could you please compare the avata 2 with the avata 1 axisflying? thank you☺
Thank you! What you want to know? The axisflying kit flies much better, but battery doesn't last long
Thank you man! This is review that I looking for :)
I liked your honesty, it is a great review. This review made me more interested in the Avata 2 than all the “fanboy” reviews!
Do you habe some opinion on the speed/speedcap in Europe? Is it really limiting or is it fine for its purpose (cinewhoop)?
We still have to learn how it applies, because I could go as fast as with FCC, so idk
Thanks for the review. Hopefully i will have this drone in not much time
You will have a blast!
Thanks for your honest review! Now I feel much better having ordered a refurbished Goggles 2 than an Goggles 3 to get into FPV as an beginner❤
Absolute perfect choice! Hope DJI keeps updating the goggles 2, they are the only "premium" goggles they have
@@Rimzler maybe that’s the reason why you don’t find much content comparing goggles 2 and 3
Grande Andrea, la migliore recensione come sempre! Attendo con ansia di vedere cosa ne farai di questo drone 😂💪
Grazie mille! Sono già a lavoro con lui☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️
I heard somewhere that they will, also holding out on remote 3 since i have the 2 and keeping fingers crossed.
Yes I really hope they give us choices, because in the end fit is personal as everyone has different head shapes, but giving options is the best way to deal with it
@@Rimzler exactly this!
Finally someone said something interesting about new goggles. Thank you.
I have to use them every day so I really care they are ergonomic
Sticks may look daunting at first but on a drone like the avata, that hovers super precise and gives you all the time to think, I think that only takes maybe an extra hour to get the hang of with no real risk of crashing in an open field, and that's a skill that translates to all the other drones out there
They didn't even implement the back collision avoidance yet, so it doesn't have obstacle avoidance... That's because of price, that's why I hope they make a pro version with more features
@Rimzler Thanks for the reply!
@@Rimzleryea the bigger cam I’ve been very curious about in a traditional fpv build. The 03 is already pushing the limits on most builds.
2:45??? frame has broken on left side of camera???
No it's made like that ahahah
Even though this is not a traditional FPV drone that you can freestyle with, would you say it can be a good beginner drone to do light freestyle and still experience the fun of FPV? I’m not into cinematic, I just like flight and the thrill. I don’t want to have to buy a bunch of batteries, controllers, use beta flight, etc. Can I still have fun and get a rush from this drone? Would you recommend it for someone like me who just wants to get out and fly?
The speed is limited in Europe, due to the C1 class. But is flying very smooth. I just bought few days ago and I agree with your review.
Time to ditch the the GEPRC CineBot30? I feel like this one is much more practical and much safer. Also better video quality than a GP12?
Well it is the best action cam Cinewhoop out there at this point, maybe doesn't fly as good as the 3.5 inches, but damn used as a cinewhoop is incredible, lighter and is like having a tiltable osmo action 4
I have the Avata 1, but the fpv controller 2 isnt in stock since forever, in a future firmware update, will the FPV controller 3 be able to connect with the avata 1
FPV controller 2 has always had scarsity issues, really hope they make new stuff compatible with old, I'm out for work now with 2 goggles and 2 radios
Yes, they confirmed that in a month theyll be compatible
@@thatminer7174 the fpv controller 3 and the avata 1?
Random question but here it is anyway.
I have the Cinebot 25, which is bound to my Goggles 2 and Radiomaster Boxer. Now I want to sell my Cinebot 25 to a friend because I bought another drone.
How do I unbind the goggles and the controller from the o3 air unit in my Cinebot25?
Everytime I start my gear and the Cinebot 25 is nearby it automatically connects to it.
Please, which Avata is better, the Avata 1 with 3.5 axisflygh or the Avata 2, which would be a better purchase? thanks greetings
Idk what you’re saying, the acceleration is great on this drone. It really has no limits if I am being honest
i am looking for my first FPV drone and i was really looking into the cinebot30 but this one looks good as well. i want it for indoor recording mostly for music events and also some outdoor shots as well for making videos and such. what is your personal recommendation ? pros cons ?
what fpv simulator works with Dji remote control 3?
I believe most of them will, should detect as USB input device
Thanks for your honest and professional optinion once again! You awnserd all my questions to the drone.
I also hope its get sold separately and gets googles 2 support, than im buying it for some video stuff.
And im exited about the Airunit O4, better than GoPro sounds amazing :D
Can you maybe do an comparison -> O3 recording vs Avata 2 vs GoPro? Would be very interesting :)
It is sold separately, I believe compatibility is gonna come soon and can't wait! I have a job coming for a week, when I'm back I will make the comparison thanks!
Very pro review and your algorithym explanation open mind before decided to buy ...thanks and stay safe.
Why are you hating the googles 3? what's the problem with those? I've been following your videos since the beginnin!!!
Because DJI changes what works and what's customizable like that, and they decide that this is what the new generation offers, I have to use them everyday and the old ones were more convenient
I wish they allowed different mounting options so people could choose
How is the clarity in the goggles? Is it like the 1080p.. ish view at 7:21 in your video? I've been flying drones since DJI Phantom 1. Yes, I'm that old. I'm on the fence on this only because I have not used goggles before. I always use my Ipad.
The screens are not so big but clarity is perfect. Much better than looking at the screen
@@MattDvc Do you mean "The 'view inside the goggles' are not so big but clarity is perfect"?
Yeah goggle fit is subjective, but adding a couple mounting points for regular straps and let people decide even better, stuff is not cheap
good job, as usual! complimenti hai un gran talento nella comunicazione! 😉
What are your rates for the Avata 2?
I have yet to change them!
Why do I only get a top speed of 8 meters a sec or 18 mph ?
Maybe you are too close to the ground? Also have to be in sport mode to go faster
Great video. Does it record at 10bits?
Yessir!
I bought it knowing I wouldn't like the motion controller. The gimbal is what sold me. Being able to adjust it on the fly without having to build some servo based monstrosity is gold.
Yeah I love that a lot, having a tiltable good quality Cinewhoop is golden, I just wish they add head tracking with normal controller
Nevermind, overseen the checkbox with the orientation limit lock
Daamn you got me worried, yeah they have a few layers of safety, that's great to learn I think!
Thanks
Thanks for the honest review ! Gets rid of my fomo 😂 Liked and subbed .
Thank you so much! I suggest waiting a bit to see what's compatible and what not, and make a pondered decision☺️
i can fly easely, smooth an without any stopp an correcture. you just dont have to press the trigger that much, take it easy and you can fly smooth and under full controll... and you dont need to have your arm this high, you can fly easely seating with your arm on your leg without any stress. i like it very much. i can fly trough my apartement, trough cars, 10cm above the floor, everything pretty easy...
I don't have doubts about it, and it's even fun, but I believe DJI should have provided it as an accessory, and made the main input the usual radio, it's even easier to use, and has a higher skill ceiling, also it will translate to any other drone
Rimzler, What flies better the avata 2 or the avata with your frame and Motors.
Mine is far better still, but I have yet to find a damn company that makes the motors! They are either ignoring me or ripping me off ahahah
I'm gonna try and reboot the project making the same thing for the AVATA 2, they should use the same motors
@Rimzler What part of Italy do you live?I was born in morolo italy, But now live in usa
Great video mate! You should be working for the DJI design department. Those gripes are easily fixed by someone with practical experience!
Yes it's normal for every radio, you have to tighten the other screw until it grips enough so it stays down
@@Rimzler so I was able to unlock manual mode, but the drone flies like it's in angle mode.
Cual es tu pregunta?
where can I get the aftermarket parts you have on your googles 2?
Check out the description 😉😉
The remote is gonna give you much more control but also disables a bunch of decent features which are good for cinematic flying.
if you need casual flights where film is the priority , use the motion control
if yo uwant the regular fpv style, use the fpv remote
They also do provide a bit of foam to prtect the lenses. it comes in the kit, did you throw it out ?
