If anyone deserves recognition, it's Dave Simpson. Not only is he a blues slaying maniac, he's the most humble guy and just a sweet human being and for him I wish nothing but the utmost success in his musical endeavors. And kudos to the captain for having him on for amazing interview. There's a reason he's been the most requested artist for an interview with the captain, everybody who gets to know Dave absolutely loves him. There's no reason he shouldn't be endorsing a dozen companies as he never gets bad feedback & he's built his channel 1 sub at a time.

Your channel could learn a thing or two from him... instead of banning people like me, because you don't like having your emotionally-charged opinions challenged. I know you're going through some crap right now and I wish you the best, but after some of the stuff you've said and blocking my comments so you could have your own echo chamber, you look a lot different to me now than when I used to watch your amp repairs. For a perfect example of something Dave would never tell his viewers and subscribers in a million years: imgur.com/tTkTGrQ (and no, that's not even when you blocked me, it was before that). Notice how Dave handles his challenges and struggles: he projects outward a sense of vulnerability, connection, support, positivity, and hope for others. He relates to other people. He cares and doesn't tear anyone down, ever. He gives love, he receives love. Now contrast that with how you behave: you get reactive, combative, aggressive, and start insulting those who helped your channel grow by watching it to start with. And you pat yourself on the back and say, and I quote, you're 'culling the herd,' along with a lot of other profanity-laced bluster.

You'll never hear him slagging anyone off, boasting about his accomplishments or shilling for some mega music corporation (Umbrella notwithstanding). He's not slick, doesn't rely on schtick and seems utterly disinterested in the traditional rock star trappings of fame and fortune. He's always just been Dave Simpson, a wonderfully talented and authentic guy genuinely interacting with his audience from the humble confines of his bedroom. What a brilliant interview. Dave was authentic, charmingly quirky, and obviously a first-rate talent. But Lee's skill as an interviewer absolutely shone. He was informed, considerate, listened to Dave's answers, and gently kept the conversation going in a positive direction. No small task when you're separated by a wall of plexiglass and talking about topics that range from solid state amps to mental illness. This kind of content is what keeps me coming back to the Andertons channel. Bravo.

Each of them plugged straight into a Boss Katana II and all it's functionality, no external effects allowed and playing (off the wall of Anderton's) Squire Affinity guitars; a Stratocaster for Dave and a Telecaster for Pete and show the gear snobs what it means to really play a guitar, that would be truth and it would be awesome. Great guest interview. I think it's great that Dave Simpson is right at the top of your 'most requested' interviews and this video demonstrates why. I like Dave because he's human... and very deep, like we all truly are. I like him even more because he's less guarded than many of us and that makes him even more human, likeable and easy to connect with. Along with being humble and talented, he's enthusiastic and very 'in the moment' in how he talks about things. He deals with negative UA-cam comments the way I do; I delete them if they're intentionally spiteful, nasty and destructive. It's my 'world' so it's up to me to close my 'door' on it if I want to. Long may Dave Simpson be Dave Simpson. I hope that fame (on or offline) doesn't change him.

The main reason that guitars keep getting better as you own them longer is that they soak up all the memories. I remember my boy wanting to learn because he watched a TV show called drake and josh and it had to be a red strat. I got him a red crafter cruiser for Christmas 2009 and he still owns it today and attributes all his success in music to it. In fact he has never got rid of any of his guitars over the last 14 years and has quite a few now with a few fenders, esp's and so but never a Gibson but I've bought him a 2009 Les Paul standard this year for Christmas as we have had a bad year with his mum's health and he has been outstanding with all the help, so I think it's a good payback for him.
Love the channel and Dave and Cici.
