I still watch ster's old TF2 commentaries time to time. Vibe from a such an unique man like him it keeps people coming back. Thanks for the throwback, mate
Woah Grouch this is a SUPER high quality video tidbit on the "founder" of tf2 content, I appreciate your ster_ tribute, and look forward to more, as always.
For me, it's not that Ster quit TF2 but moved away from videos to streaming. It does make more money and provides a different type of content but it just does not fill the same itch a video does.
*STAR_ & Jerma Both Legendary Created Revolutionary in TF2 UA-cam History. God this both mann cant be forgotten by community & fans. Always remember to both mann channel TF2 Videos!*
This is a very interesting and well edited documentary. I didn't know anything about the earlier tf2 yt days, so this was not only entertaining, but also a good history lesson. Maybe you could do a series of tf2(or not just tf2!) ytber's history and who they are now. Would be fun to watch for sure. Merry christmas.
Man This takes me back... I am more nostalgic for STER_ and those good ol' days when his videos were coming out than I am for TF2 Because I still play TF2 so it's a part of my life But man thank you so much for this video, such a nice tribute to that wonderful person!
Thank you for making this video covering possibly the most important form of media I consumed as a child. This man was my original favorite UA-camr I would come home from middle school everyday and watch Jerma and star play some games. I’ll never forget how I felt when ster quit TF2 but looking back I quit shortly after and those reasons are probably related. Jerma is mad part 1-3 are still my favorite UA-cam videos of all time I literally have the whole script memorized for most of those videos. Jerma and star are some of those special people that I will probably never forget about until I die.
I can literally imagine a compilation of my favorite star and Jerma moments from childhood. Can’t even explain how much I loved them. Will always be the greatest era of UA-cam to me. Thank you Jerma and star 🫡
just found your ty 10/10 subscribed after 4 minutes into the video now currently binge watching your channel keep it up and no im not a bot but i cant write you a email like you said in the outro
Thanks for the Video, Grouch. I really enjoyed watching this entertaining adventure to the old days of tf2 youtube. Also, we will talk to the parents of Ben, after the "incident" with using phone, because we want our students to know more about tf2, than watching silly videos about weapon reskins. - TF2 School Director.
as a young lad, I had only just started getting into modern PC gaming in 2012 going into college, but I, living elsewhere than the USA for my life, did not have access to internet and no knowledge of how online gaming worked. I was interested in TF2, it was free, and was in the venn diagram of other interests at the time, but felt anxious to try go be an absolute noob at a game I knew so little about online. So, I spent a long time just fighting bots, but where did I gain the knowledge to eventually play the game online? Who else but STAR_. I never considered before now how valuable it was to have STAR_ making videos for an online game like that so long ago... Would there have been nearly as good videos for other game IPs? or such pleasant commentary? Maybe today, but I valued how much STAR_ taught me prior to braving the online gaming space.
Wholesome commentary videos on games back then were SO MUCH better than anything that comes out today. Doesn't matter if it is star or anybody else . Look even at the Yogscast whose videos were commentary wholesomeness and now they make dogshit TTT and GTA poops
*0:59** in janu 2023 we saw leak public school traning tutorial level maps. god damn you valve. why cut these maps? that would be awesome for players!*
For someone who started playing TF2 in 2013 and still going strong today, I have to owe a huge portion of my time playing this game to STAR_ and especially to Jerma. They taught me so much during my early days and they brought us with some of the greatest entertainment and phenomenons within the community. They're videos will always be timeless and in my opinion, they are one half of my Mount Rushmore when it comes to TF2bers. It makes me really happy to see how big they went onto become years later.
ster and jerma were my introduction to pc gaming as a whole thanks to tf2! but that "it's over" hits hard :( i was too stupid and young at the time to realise that he moved to streaming so for years i thought he just quit
Great video as always, lovin the description haha. If you ad a Shwicky Shwag to it, then you'll get the highest gamer score :P Anyways, to this comment I say "IT'S OVAH!"
I used Blender to render photos of the model, and then used Sony Vegas do any movements (like in the intro). I ended up with 24 unique poses for the model, 6 of which were just for the "passing notes" bit :P
4:53 I swear some people will be out for blood if you stop playing their favorite game, like you have an obligation to make their favorite game the biggest game around. It's what happens when you use fandom to replace your personality.
I have always loved Star_, I understand and am glad that he's found new love but I will always wish to tell him thanks for the last 9 years of me playing Tf2, If he wasn't around with Jerma, Tf2 would have been out of system years ago.
Ster and Muselk was some of the first TF2Tubers I never watched. Sad they stopped playing the game or at lest plays it a lot less in the case of Muselk since he still posts TF2 content on his moremuselk channel
how did you make this video without mentioning jerma once? would be kinda interesting to hear about the fallout they had which im not sure what happened there. i think it was a long jerma joke idk
I figured it'd be nice to just focus on Star and his accomplishments :) He's always brought up with Jerma but he also did a lot outside of just being Jerma's friend. Maybe I'll make a video about their reign together
Grouch, thank you so much for mentioning the hate STer got back in the day I was like 12 back then and it really depressed and confused me a lot how cruel people were towards him and Muselk Every single one of those fuckers almost pushed ME away from the game because of how staunchly self centered they were.
1:59 think about it: Best video editor user & youtuber STAR_ Was Best! nobody was doing videos like this! ah man... i miss legendary. now he is doing streaming... in the Twitch. :-'( i hated you blizzard.
Hey man, I do respect the love you give to "star_" as I too was a fellow enjoyer of his content and what he does And as somebody who had to witness the downfall of muselk into the minecraft flappy bird ditch of dispare, I have come into acceptance about some ppl. refusing to be what others need them to be in THEIR lives. But I genuinely think elmaxo is one of the better new gen tf tubers as he both is keeping his content on-par with who he is and into whom he is turning into as he grows as a person as well as gateways his audience into a self-help mentorship path which can help people going through a tough time to find a safe space like how Muselk used to do things around these parts. Rescubscribe to elmaxo and listen to some of his self-help material I am certain that you will enjoy it if you give it a genuine go where you are not forcing yourself to do so
