    I bought the Alpha Stim primarily for insomnia (probably due to anxiety and depression). I recently placed my husband in a Memory Care Home and have become quite depressed. Surprisingly, my depression lifted after the first session which I only did for 20 minutes. I only use 50-200 amps. For me, it doesn't take much. I also read where it can take up to 3 weeks for the full effects to be felt in the case of insomnia so I will continue to see if it really does help the insomnia. I am elated, though, that I do not have to ask the doctor to prescribe something (with all the side effects) for what was becoming debilitating depression.

    I just received my Alpha-Stim from the VA to treat my anxiety due to PTSD.
    Can I use this device daily?

    • @Alpha-Stim
      @Alpha-Stim  Місяць тому

      Yes, you should have received an owner's manual with your device. It is also available online: alpha-stim.com/resources/guides/. Alpha-Stim instructions for use state: CES may be used as often as necessary but for most people it is best to treat between once a day and twice a week. Results usually improve and last longer with additional treatments.

    What setting (.5/1.5/100) for Alpha-Stim would work best for migraines with aura and Trigeminal (internal and peripheral) and Occipital (peripheral) neuralgia? Also which would work best ear clips or using wand or would both be good for different purposes?
    Like would ear clips work best for migraines and internal Trigeminal neuralgia for treating the whole head? Conversely, would wands be best for targeting specific trigeminal and occipital nerve branches? Like placing the wand at the base of the nerve and to the end of the branch be ideal?

    Is running it at max microamps (600) for 60 minutes fine? I barely notice it and only have a periodic faint sensation of dizziness and once every minute to several minutes I get this flicker at the top of my vision. Not sure if its a flicker like an aura (ocular migraine/retinal migraine) or if maybe its simply my eyelid doing a very fast and short spasm (I think that's most likely).

      A higher microcurrent doesn't equal a better treatment. Current level should be set at a level that is comfortable for each user. You can wear your Alpha-Stim for as long as you would like, as you can't overdose or over treat with the device. If you are feeling dizzy, please turn the current level down. Light sensations are normal as well. We encourage you to reach out to our clinical support team with any questions or concerns you might have. We're here to help! If the device was set to the probe setting when first powered on with ear clips on the ears then turned off and turned on again and then set for the CES function would this cause problems for the user?

    No matter what I do, it just feels like these things are shocking the hell out of my ear lobes, also no matter what I do, I can’t get the damn things to stay on my ear lobes. The weight of the wire pulls them right off. Either way, it doesn’t matter because it feels like I’m getting my ear pierced over and over again from the repetitive shocking

      Please contact our clinical support at 1-800-FOR-PAIN or by emailing alpha-stim@epii.com. It sounds like you are using the device at too high of a current level. For most people, Alpha-Stim is subsensory. If your earclips won't stay on your earlobes, there might be an issue with the spring in the earclip.

    • @DCMAKER133
      @DCMAKER133 Рік тому

      You also might have put way too much solution making them too slippery on top of a bad spring. Try lower microamps as well. You should use the lowest microamps before they start to hurt. I myself can do 600 microamps without much difficulty but everyone's pain tolerance is different. Mine is extremely high vs others.
