I switched to their high tack mask. Cost less you purchase by the roll and it works perfectly. I now have two boxes of the low tack sheets and I use them for regular and iron-on vinyl. I used one piece of high tack for 48 shirts
I had that same problem. Called Siser and they said if you are even in the room with the hot press it will do this. They suggested that I place the mask in the freezer for 4-5 minutes before placing on the transfer. It worked PERFECTLY!!! I no longer have any problems.
Great Video. This masking tip may help. I use a very soft/thin media from Siser called S-Print with my Solvent Ink Printer. During the hot summer days, I had some trouble using their TTD High Tack Mask. Then I noticed they mention on the website that it works best at room temp below 70 degrees. So on hot summer days you can put the mask in the fridge or freezer for a few minutes. I've tried exactly that and it made a huge difference!
Good to know because I also, had the issue with it not sticking to the image. The issue seems that it would return moisture to the image / shirt. I prepress my substrates to remove moisture.
@@AgreeWeCanDisagree Maybe it doesn't apply here as much since the process uses Inkjet Ink (which is dy or pigment based or a combination), and not Sublimation Ink, which is what is so affected by the moisture because it turns into a gas when heated and actually becomes part of the fiber of whatever substrate you're using (even on slates, etc., they are coated with a poly substance that the sublimation ink binds to and basically becomes part of when it is turned into a gas by the heat and pressure).
I was soooo excited when my easycolor showed up I accidentally used my permanent vinyl transfer tape. I was scared so I used 2 pieces of parchment and and used a temp of 302 for 15 seconds. IT WORKED PERFECTLY!!!! I have now pressed over 25 shirts with easycolor and permanent vinyl transfer tape @302 for 15 seconds. It transfers perfect and does not melt in the press.
@@new1man9 I tried intricate cuts and it was a problem... but the issue may have been an older blade I used for cutting vinyl previously. The mask was difficult to remove after pressing as well. I need to try a larger image before I make any permanent decisions. It feels nice and soft! The color was great. I mistakenly tried printing as photo paper. The bleed was terrible, but on regular paper best quality the image was stunning! I'm going to order more but maybe not use the mask as I found it difficult to work with.
I made my 1st shirt today using the DTV EasyColor and yes I love I can print from my pigment ink printer but what I don't love is when image is cut it lifts from the carrier sheet when you have moving parts! Thank you for your review. I was having problems with the cutting and found that any small cuts are not successful. You are right, it's not cheap and when you have problems with a few sheets, that is money down the drain. I had high hopes, I probably won't buy again. I was thinking this might have been the answer to avoiding going into sublimation, but I think I am leaning toward investing in sublimation now.
I totally agree with you. I was very impressed with the overall turnout but there's so many cons. I wasted lot of sheets just in trial and error. Hopefully they fix the problems because that's too much money.
Thanks for the review! I have a latex printer and I was messing around with full color images a couple years ago. I forgot what siser medium I was using but it required some ttd. The ttd and latex ink media didnt work. So now I've been stuck with 50 yards of ttd on a 29 inch roll. Smh maybe I should start seeling it by the sheet. Lol

Thank you so much for watching. I have to keep that in mind. I always toss the transfer sheet in the trash. I also learned that the easysubli mask works well. Let me know how it goes.
Just finished watching your video. I just purchased the EasyColor DTV and I was hoping to have some good results with the mask, but I see you are having the same issue I'm having with the Siser easysubli! I can't ever get my mask to stick to my images!
Do you have any other mask around? I had some Siser Easysubli mask and it worked. I also purchased sisers high tack mask from Amazon it worked as well. It works best with high tack mask best.
Just found your video. Love, Love, Love it. I used the DTV and had the same problem with the mask. I was so disappointed with the mask because it just simply would not stick to the mask. I was so disappointed I sat the material to the side and did not complete the shirt. I had small letter that kept twisting and turn in every direction while trying to get them to stick to the mask. When one letter stuck then the other letter would not. After a while trying I just decided this is to much time wasted and material wasted when this product cost so much. Thank you for you honesty.
Thank you so much. I totally agree, it's super frustrating. Especially the letters folding and lifting from the backing. I hope they find a better solution.
Joe, from Siser, said that you print out something that has a lot of colors, and takes up your whole design. Allow it to dry overnight. You might have a problem with the mask being able to stick well on the DTV vinyl. You are not the only one having this problem with it sticking. You'll find a lot of videos with other UA-camrs that have been doing this for years having that same problem.
Thank you for the video. The design is amazing. I am new to all of this and did not even order the mask but the DTV is coming tomorrow. My newness seems to have saved me. I ordered a different transfer tape from Amazon that I saw in another video earlier today so hopefully it will be better.

Yes it works best with one whole piece. I've learned that easysubli mask works great. Also people have been telling me Frisco. I'm not too familiar with that one tho.
Thank you for the review, I recently had to return my sub printer due to defect. So Im looking for an alternative. Also what is that paint holder? Where can I get it? 😊
What brand did you have? For this you don't need a sublimation printer. I think I got the organizer from Michael's a long time ago. I just checked to see if they had any and I don't think they do. I saw some alternatives on Amazon though.
Great results. I'm curious if set the print under heat press (without pressing) for a few seconds, should allow designto losen, then apply to transfer sheet/mask will work. Let us know. LOL - as Soon as I typed this I heard you say same thing.

Great video.. You can try adjusting your blade setting as the product is so thin. I noticed the blade cut into the liner a lot and this can cause problems with the mask picking it up. You should only see very slight impressions on the liner.. Try and adjust the blade to just cut through the vinyl. Worth a try.

I just threw it out lol probably not the most cost effective but it worked. Also I’m in Australia so I don’t know if our masks are different but I’ve never had an issue with letters not sticking etc sometimes I just have to squeegee the design 3-4 times. I hear ya girl! The struggle is REAL! My issue is that the letters pop up onto the mask all twisted and twirled like a static issue. So I then took the printed and cut image and set it under the heat press and the letters would lay down but then do the same thing when I tried to lay the mask on top. Threw away several images. So frustrating!
@@rackybalboa Ohhhhh yea I forgot to mention that. They made a mistake with the cut setting. They had print in reverse and cut settings at Vinyl +. I used Iron on +. Dang I forgot all about that.
Thanks for your video Immo go on and send it back now I don’t need a headache. I’ll keep using my 3g opaque for darks and vinyl for the small pieces. Sigh…I thought we had a winner
@@AustinsLab_ aww man! The vinyl sounds like a winner yes but like I said in my post for me? I’ll use up the 80 sheets of 11x17 neenah. Still no reliable lifting mask for ANY printable vinyl for darks. Thanks for your honest update and sorry it didn’t work for you either Austin.
I had issue with this product. After the print out I wait over 25 hours before applying the mask. My issue with this product is when I wash the tee shirt in cold water after 3 days, the ink bleed on the light shirt. Please follow up with washing your shirt. I have Epson eco tank 2803.
I haven’t had a problem with my masks. I did see on the Siser You Tube channel that you can let your print dry over night before applying the mask. Also, you can use Cricut transfer paper and it worked well too.
I still haven’t tried this yet, although I bought some to test. I watched a video about it on the Mr. Crafty Pants channel, and he mentioned having a lot of trouble with the mask also, so I’ll expect to have issues when I start testing 😕 Otherwise, the DTV seems amazing!
Yes the DTV is great! I'm gonna do another test today to see if a different ttd mask work. I was told you're supposed to let the print dry over night but who has time for that!
A newbie here! I saw one of your reply comments arguing the sticking to the mask issue, and you said the EasySubli Mask was better, i’m trying to find the best products to buy would you recomend me get this one instead of the TTD Easy Mask for this Siser EasyColor DTV?
Hey frien! So what I've learned thus far is that FOR ME, high tack mask works best. Also if you have time to let the dtv dry or place it under the heat platen for a few seconds to speed process helps. I don't want to give a specific ttd mask because everyone has different results. I've learned that high tack works for me.
yaaa same here, girllll.. i got the dtv.. and i got so upset after trying to take out the images.. ughhh... i just got fed up and threw it away.. the transfer sheet is not strong
Have ypu tried it yet? I've heard some say the cricut clear works but I haven't used it. I use easysubli mask. I just bought some clear mask that I have yet to use. I'll be trying it out soon.
I got some by mistake 2 days ago.. I'll try it.. I try to make all my tshirts with a single piece.. that way I elminate the problems with the mask... thanks enjoyed the video
Are there specific designs that you need to look for when you’re doing DTV? Also I wanna do the cutting too I have scanned and cut I don’t have cricket so I have to direct cut and if it’s too intricate it doesn’t work so any suggestions or is there a website that does design specifically for DTV vinyl?
You can purchase designs from etsy. They're usually really cheap. If you're gonna cut yourself you'd probably want to get designs that are all one piece. It would be difficult to cut intricate designs by hand.
@@WiWaChanpi Hey thanks for watching. No not necessarily. Do you have a cricut? If not you can find an image that you can cut by hand and print that out. It'll press the same way.
Mine didnt work either! hated it, wasted 3 of the masks not sticking at all! I dont know if it has to do with my printer being epson eco tank or if its because im printing on high quality even though i let it dry for a few mins, but it does the same to me! and im upset too!
What printer, ink and print settings did you use? I printed one… it was okay Epson 7710 Cosmo ink. 2nd print smeared like crazy. Going back to Easy Subli
I'm going to try and use the easysubli mask to see if that works. I'll keep you updated. Easysubli mask is very sticky. I'm just not sure how it would press with the dtv.
Yep! Several times actually. It holds very well. I've also done myself and my 4year old a few more shirts and they too have held up nicely after washing. I have another video show the wash test as well.
Welcome frien' . Thank you so much for watching and subscribing. It washes well. I have a wash test video also. I prefer dtv over the transfer paper. Last longer.
I had the same problem...the mask is not as sticky as it should be. I wonder if the supplier has the product sitting in an area where the temperature works against the transfer paper... I struggled last night....and I mean STRUGGLED. but I finally got it to adhere....but I'm a bit frustrated.
Oh I know the feeling. I wasted a lot. If ypu have easysubli mask, I've learned that it works good. Someone else said Frisco works well too. But overall I really like the product. I just hate that it lifts from the carrier sheet like static and won't stick to the transfer paper provided. Little cuts are bad too.
@@AustinsLab_ Agree...If you find another transfer mask that works....will you do an update? I have some work to do tonight...I am going to adjust my blade, I need it to cut just a little deeper. Thanks for your content!
Canon Ts version. Just a regular inkjet desktop. I have a Epson 2760 I converted for sublimation. Premium presentation paper matte, high quality image. Nothing special this time.
@@alienychris511 I used a Canon TS3322 which is fairly inexpensive. It's a 3in1 print scan and copy. They have newer models but any desktop printer that can print photos I think would work. And when I mean print settings: I mean when you get ready to print, click the properties or settings button. Choose custom for colors. There should be a sliding bar or something that allows you to adjust the colors.
I can’t even get mine to load in the printer. It won’t even take the DTV to print. It’s too flimsy for my epson to grab and too slick. I’m so mad I ordered a ton of it.
This happened before with some transfer paper. I looked at the rolls that pull the paper in and noticed they had collected the powder/ fiber from the transfer paper. I wiped the rolls off and it took it. I haven't had that experience with the DTV tho. Also, when I use easysubli my sublimation printer won't take it. So I tape a regular piece of printer paper to the back(slick side) and then feed it that way so the rollers will grab it. I hope this helps.
I let my printed DTV dry overnight. Even a small print, I let bit be overnight. I'm not investing in sublimation equipment. This may cost about the same in the long run. Don't use vinyl transfer tape, use the TTD mask for DTV.
Thank you for watching. I don't always have time to let prints dry overnight. I use whatever works really. If I have the backing from htv I use that, or high tack ttd. The ttd that they suggested in which I bought doesn't have a high tack level. Also, if you don't want to buy a sublimation printer you can convert a ecotank.
You are correct. The mask is awful. Not only couldn’t I get it to stick, the letters fell off when I turned it over to put on my shirt. And I let the print dry for 24 hours before applying the mask.
@@crystalwarelk7480 I tried this kind and it worked great. Frisco Craft Transfer Tape for Heat Transfer Vinyl - Iron On Transfer Paper - Heat Transfer Paper, Clear Transfer Tape for Printable HTV (12" X 50FT) I got it on amazon.

Normally I tweak the settings, but I didn't this time. It's on the basic settings. I usually change to premium matte paper and up the quality and color. Once I realized how the dtv printed I didn't change anything.
If it's one whole image like a photo or like image on my shirt, no it isn't. But when you have separate pieces that you want to stay in place, it's very necessary. Otherwise you'd have to peel each piece off and place yourself. That's hard with intricate designs.

So I then took the printed and cut image and set it under the heat press and the letters would lay down but then do the same thing when I tried to lay the mask on top. Threw away several images. So frustrating!
Ughhhh! Me too. It's the weirdest thing and so frustrating, lol.
Same!!! i wanted to cry because i wasted so much material and this isn't cheap
I don't know about this DTV. Although it works, but everyone have trouble transferring it. Do you find this an issue for you?
Do you mean using their ttd mask? If so yes it sucks. If it's one whole image I just peel it off and place it where I want it.
@@AustinsLab_ It really does suck and the settings for cricut on the siser site caused me to lose a few sheets of the DTV paper.
@@rackybalboa Ohhhhh yea I forgot to mention that. They made a mistake with the cut setting. They had print in reverse and cut settings at Vinyl +. I used Iron on +. Dang I forgot all about that.
Nice, vid. Cut settings on cameo. Mine seems to not get the corners. I even bumped my blade to 3.2 manually and still get weeding issues.
Unfortunately I'm unfamiliar with cameo. I used the cricut explore air 2.
Thanks for your video Immo go on and send it back now I don’t need a headache. I’ll keep using my 3g opaque for darks and vinyl for the small pieces. Sigh…I thought we had a winner
Wait! Lol! The DTV is great tho! Just not the ttd mask.
Yea after working with it some more, it stressed me out, lol. Terrible with intricate pieces. Lifts from the carrier sheet. Ughhh!

I had issue with this product. After the print out I wait over 25 hours before applying the mask. My issue with this product is when I wash the tee shirt in cold water after 3 days, the ink bleed on the light shirt. Please follow up with washing your shirt. I have Epson eco tank 2803.
Did you use sublimation ink? It definitely shouldn't have bled. . And yes I will be making follow up after wash and dry.
@@AustinsLab_ No, it was Epson pigment ink.
Hey girl! I just posted the wash test.l if you're still interested.

I had success with Frisco Craft transfer tape for patterned heat transfer vinyl. TTD High Tack mask destroyed my first siser dtv print.
Oh okay someone else mentioned Frisco too.
Can I use my eco solvent printer with this paper? I have a eco tank 2800 printer.
From what I've read about it, yes you can use eco solvent ink.

@@preciosaskreations4715 you're welcome
So we're you able to use the easysubli mask with this? I have a bunch of that and no easy subli so if I could use that instead that would be great
Yes absolutely! It works great.
I haven’t had a problem with my masks. I did see on the Siser You Tube channel that you can let your print dry over night before applying the mask. Also, you can use Cricut transfer paper and it worked well too.
Ok Thank you.
okay, you just answered my question with the Cricut transfer paper. thank you sweetie.
I saw (and tried)a hack where they added the mask before cutting it and it worked great!
@@victorialawson9775 never thought of that
Yes, she masked before cutting and then again after cutting. Worked great for a slightly intricate cut I had.
you can use the frisco pattern htv mask. Its awesome with it
Thank you. I used easysubli mask it worked too.
Oh no...you threw away the dtv or mask?
i want to try this, but hunny, that masking? that will try my patience! i wonder will it work with Cricut clear transfer film?
Have ypu tried it yet? I've heard some say the cricut clear works but I haven't used it. I use easysubli mask. I just bought some clear mask that I have yet to use. I'll be trying it out soon.
I got some by mistake 2 days ago.. I'll try it.. I try to make all my tshirts with a single piece.. that way I elminate the problems with the mask... thanks enjoyed the video
Oh you will love it then. Let me know how it goes!
Is it still the 6.75x9.25 image only for print and cut on Cricut?
Yep! They need to change that.
Hello Austin, must i use the TTD mask Sheet or i can use another product?
Yes you can use a different mask. I've been using easysubli masks. However I've heard good things about Frisco and a few others.
Any updates on the best tack sheet or roll to use?
Hey yes I've been using siser high tack mask. Also I use the carrier sheets for heat transfer vinyl. That works really well.
In the siser video for the dtv they said to let the transfer dry overnight before applying the mask
Oh ok. But who wants to do that? 😆 🤣
Nobody lol 😆 but other than the mask amazing product I love the feel of it on a shirt
Me too! I love it. It absorbs color so well.
Beautiful. I just subscribed to your channel.
Thank you so much!
That looks awesome
Thank you so much for watching
Very nice design.
Thank you
Are there specific designs that you need to look for when you’re doing DTV? Also I wanna do the cutting too I have scanned and cut I don’t have cricket so I have to direct cut and if it’s too intricate it doesn’t work so any suggestions or is there a website that does design specifically for DTV vinyl?
You can purchase designs from etsy. They're usually really cheap. If you're gonna cut yourself you'd probably want to get designs that are all one piece. It would be difficult to cut intricate designs by hand.
Wow that shirt came out nice and vibrant! I’m wondering can I use my Cricut Easy Press or do I need to used my heat press?
Yes you can use your easy press. As long as it gets hot enough and ypu add pressure.
@@AustinsLab_ thank you!
I’m about to go test it out now!

@@AustinsLab_ I forgot to ask what paper setting should it be on plain, glossy or matt?

@@WiWaChanpi Hey thanks for watching. No not necessarily. Do you have a cricut? If not you can find an image that you can cut by hand and print that out. It'll press the same way.
@@AustinsLab_ no, no cricut.
@@WiWaChanpi ok no problem. Just print and image that's easy to cut by hand.

Mine didnt work either! hated it, wasted 3 of the masks not sticking at all! I dont know if it has to do with my printer being epson eco tank or if its because im printing on high quality even though i let it dry for a few mins, but it does the same to me! and im upset too!
So I bought Sisers high tack transfer tape and that works perfectly fine. I don't even use the easycolor transfer tape anymore.
I saw that you created the words, but how did you get them the different colors like that?
I use Adobe Illustrator. I sampled the colors in the image and made a gradient to match.
What printer, ink and print settings did you use? I printed one… it was okay Epson 7710 Cosmo ink. 2nd print smeared like crazy. Going back to Easy Subli
Did you use cosmos sublimation ink? If so this dtv isn't for sublimation. I have a regular at home Canon Pixma TS3322. With pigment based ink.
Beautiful very vibrant I love it
Thank you
I am also having problems with the transfer sheet sticking to the design.
I'm going to try and use the easysubli mask to see if that works. I'll keep you updated. Easysubli mask is very sticky. I'm just not sure how it would press with the dtv.
Ok my question have washed it cause that wear my problem came in
Yep! Several times actually. It holds very well. I've also done myself and my 4year old a few more shirts and they too have held up nicely after washing. I have another video show the wash test as well.

What happened when you washed it?
How does it wash, new subscriber here
Welcome frien' . Thank you so much for watching and subscribing. It washes well. I have a wash test video also. I prefer dtv over the transfer paper. Last longer.
Which side is up on the printer?
On my printer it's print side up.

I so wanted to love it but it bleeds on black or dark images...even with the correct plain paper settings
I believe there's a way to adjust how much ink is applied on your printer.
Have you noticed the red color gets super dark?
No not really. You have to adjust the colors in the print settings if you see that happening.
@@AustinsLab_ it happens after pressing
what cheap printer do you recommend?
@@alienychris511 I used a Canon TS3322 which is fairly inexpensive. It's a 3in1 print scan and copy. They have newer models but any desktop printer that can print photos I think would work. And when I mean print settings: I mean when you get ready to print, click the properties or settings button. Choose custom for colors. There should be a sliding bar or something that allows you to adjust the colors.
@@alienychris511 lighten your reds in post before printing. That's the only thing I can think of without seeing for myself.
I would like to buy the hip hop design please
Looks good
Thank you
You are correct. The mask is awful. Not only couldn’t I get it to stick, the letters fell off when I turned it over to put on my shirt. And I let the print dry for 24 hours before applying the mask.
Righhhhtttt! Doesn't make much sense to me. There should be a whole lot tricks and remedies to make it work.

If it's one whole image like a photo or like image on my shirt, no it isn't. But when you have separate pieces that you want to stay in place, it's very necessary. Otherwise you'd have to peel each piece off and place yourself. That's hard with intricate designs.
