Nice build! Thanks for sharing your creativity. Just one note, you could have used much smaller motors. 2 deer motors would have worked just fine, and you could have kept the bigger motors for other cool props.
Great to know it helped you. Thanks for the suggestion about the motors. You are right, the wiper motor is a bit overkill here, but I didn’t find a counterpart for a reindeer motor in Germany yet 😕 Would be cool to know what would be a good alternative for that.
@@OldSchoolHaunter I think I may just have to try making this! Thanks again for sharing. This would be so cool to add to my collection. One thing that would make it better though, is if you painted the while cuffs of the sleeves and maybe added some blood effects or something to make them all look a little different. You got good variation on the movement, but the arms/hands still look all the same. Just a thought :)
I've made a prop that requires a fishing line pull and a rubber band return. In the month that I usually run that prop I usually have to replace the rubber band once or twice. This last Halloween I used a spring return instead and didn't have a problem. Hopefully you didn't have the same issue with the rubber band returns.
Thank you very much for the advice about the the rubber band :-) During the Halloween season 2021 there was no problem and the prop works without any issues. So I keep my fingers crossed. As I took it down after Halloween I unhooked the rubber band so it is not stored in its tighten position. Hopefully this will help. But as you mentioned, building the mechanism using springs should not be so prone to problems 👍
@@OldSchoolHaunter I'm glad you didn't have the same issue as I had in the past. Maybe because my prop gets a lot of sun exposure and exposure to the elements (snow in Michigan at the end of October) that it adds to the degradation.
Yes you are probably right. The sun is a huge factor. I am going to see if the rubber bands are still in good condition when I get that thing out for Halloween. For future projects I will switch to springs I think. They are more robust as you said 👍🙂
😱That's a very cool and terrifying zombie pit, especially with the added lights and sound effects, Tino! 🧟That's also a very clever mechanism for animating the hands. Hey, what color is the lighting? It almost looks like fuchsia.
Very cool low tech build with a quality finished product.
Thank you very much :-) The goal was to make the mechanism as simple as possible without a lot of controllers and motors.
Great job. Very creative concept
Thanks. Was no so easy to figure out but in the end it works very well 😊

@@OldSchoolHaunter Just find synchronous motors. They're available on German Amazon among many other places. That's what reindeer motors are.

Do you know what kind of hinges he is using in the video and where to get them? I was thinking about doing this project.

Thank you :-) The color is a mixture of red and purple. Maybe it looks a little bit different on the video, but it is a mixture of those 2 colors.
@@OldSchoolHaunter Wow! They blended together perfectly.
