I do try to come up with some budget and techno friendly ideas for a wide range of abilities. I'm glad that you liked this one Steve and thanks for watching!
@@HALLOWEENHOWTObySaulFilms Sorry to bother you. I am making a Flying Crank Ghost and I have 15 yards of Cheesecloth purchased at Walmart, is that too much or adequate?
I love all his diy vids and have made several of them. My neighbors tell friends and I stop traffic at night from the passersby. Thank you for the clear and simple instructions.
Man I only just found this channel and it's already become essential viewing just in time for the greatest season of the year!!! Great stuff thank you for a the work you do!
Another great tutorial with very clear instructions. I loved that you showed three different potential applications for essentially the same project. I also appreciate your attention to detail when it comes to safety and alerting folks to potential things to be aware of - like the sharpness awl. As always the creativity is amazing!
Hi Arlee, I love your puppets! I have been toying around with making an animated prop using puppetry for awhile now, you have inspired me. Thank you for the nice comments and for watching.
I just watched all of your videos in one go. Couldn't stop watching. Your tutorials are so clear and easy to follow. Going to have to try some of these out. Excellent stuff hope to see many more. Thank you!!
This is awesome. You are amazing! Love how well you give detailed instructions on the construction of all your props. I always look forward to your videos. Thank you so much!! . 🥰😍🤗
Frikin' brilliant Paul! Although, I may have missed it on the first viewing, but I saw no use of a electric massager in this build!? ;^) I love your innovative and "low-tech" solutions for creating organic movement and "greater than the sum of it's parts" effects. I'd still like to see you produce a lighting tutorial, as it's the set-dressing and mood lighting that really put your gags over the top! You are officially my favorite DIY haunter!
OK, the massager comment cracked me up! Touché! I will take your suggestion on the lighting tutorial under consideration. Thanks Steve for your generous compliments.
I love this idea and how fluid the movement of the arm is. I think I will have to figure out how to do this without the awl though as I plan on putting 10-15 arms through a pallet wall I am creating in my haunt. The arms will be moving in a small hallway that people have to walk past along with an ankle tickler. So, I am worried about people bumping into them when the scare happens and jarring them loose from the awl. Maybe an oversized carriage bolt with jam nuts on top and bottom and washers to keep it in place, but allow for the same fluid motions?... hmmm
Hi Brian, thanks for asking. I have a variety of fluorescent/blacklight paints, from expensive to not and from acrylic to spray paint. I tend to base coat with the fluorescent spray paint and then paint in the dark (with a black light on) with all of my acrylic paints layed out and then go by their color & shade. I light the prop with fluorescent tube blacklights (18" to 4' long) from both above and below.
I remember watching this last year, but I really enjoyed watching again! I love the motion of the spooky arms, and how well you make the props and the environment surrounding the props! I’m guessing I’m not the only one who’d love to see your home or pro haunt- whatever you do... do you make a walkthrough, or have you made them in the past?
Also, I’ve always run into issues with black light paint- either I have to paint 10 coats, or it doesn’t show up as effectively as I’d like- would you ever think about making a black light prop painting tutorial- the different methods & types you use?
Thanks Kerri. My sister and I did big elaborate haunts at our parent's house for 15 years, with the local news coming out the night before to give the local Halloween night weather forecast. ... that was years ago. Today I have scaled way back and with Covid, I'm not even sure what Halloween night will look like at this point. But that has not stopped me from sharing some of our favorite props (taken out of storage and updated of course) from those glory years.
With the "Animated Spooky Sign" video that I am working on right now, I will share some tips for painting with blacklight paints. Perhaps that will be helpful, look for it's release in about two weeks. Thanks for asking Kerri.
I am currently working on a crypt prop of the past unfortunate grooms of Melanie Ravenswood. One of the crypts will have a skeleton arm reaching out with a wedding ring in hand and this prop mechanism would just be perfect for it!
Thanks for asking Kevin. Here it is, it is towards the bottom of the video description - For information on the FrightProps motor used: www.frightprops.com/electric-motors/motors/motor-controller-power-supply-kit-mot1.html

Wow, the mounting of the arm is genius. THIS is a must as well! lol
Thanks Bob, have fun with your Yard Haunt this year. Let me know if the Animated Zombie Arm makes an appearance this year.
My favorite time of year
Ours too ... obviously!
Thanks for posting, like that magnets were used instead of pneumatics, eliminates the hissing sound and dealing with a compressor, very creative!

Hi Tristan. We are excited that this prop will work for your Halloween Haunt and as always, thanks for your continued support!
Ok thanks for the info. Ahh could you do a "how to" on black light painting?
I will put that on my "to do" list. Thanks Brian for the suggestion.
Instead of arms, you could make them look like all sorts of things: Snakes, Tentacles, etc...
Cool idea!
Yes dennisw64, it is a very versatile prop. Thanks for watching!
Where'd you get the motor? I don't see a listing.
