    NOOOOO the one part I needed to see was the "boring" part you cut out!! I can't find videos on UA-cam of people wiring up jags

    I've got a Squire CV 60s Jazzmaster. I was tipped off before buying it that the tremolo arm had to be solidly pushed in and it would stay put. It does. I love how you are going through this Jaguar. You have a great way of doing mods!

    Humbuckers will steal the natural Jag sound away !

    • @alexrcowan
      @alexrcowan  4 роки тому +2

      Michael Worse that’s one way of looking at it. The other way is the jag with humbuckers is a unique sound you just can’t get off say a strat with humbuckers or a Les Paul due to differences in scale length and neck construction among other things. Also you can get approximately close to jag single coil sounds with coil splitting/partial coil splitting/pickup in parallel with itself. So yeah there’s ups and downs to installing humbuckers. But I definitely don’t agree with the argument that jags with humbuckers are worse than jags with single coils simply because both are a unique sounding choice for jags that you don’t get with other guitars. I recommend all jag fans to try (or if they can own 😉) jags with both setups!

      alexrcowan You may be right there , Sir , but I‘m tryin‘ to keep things simple . Single coils are what speaks to me , but hey , that’s just me ! Peace out ✌️

    You can get those pickups from Dimarzio without the flange so you dont have to do the routing. Just an FYI.

      As far as I’m aware in Australia we can’t buy directly from Dimarzio and are restricted to buying from dealers. Besides, the customer had already purchased these before work commenced

      It’s usually foam underneath the pickup, and then the adjustment screws screw the pickup down against the foam

    (structurally speaking... and not in terms of the feel of the fretboard) Is this squire neck quality in comparison to a Fender Neck youd buy for the Jag?... I love that Trapezoid inlay sooooOOOOOO much that I would justify any reason to keep it on there... the only thing I'd have to get rid of is the Squier headstock... what are the options on that?.. can you just switch out headstocks?.. or do you have to buy a neck?.. cuz then that defeats the purpose.. otherwise i'd buy a Fender Trapezoid inlay neck... WHICH THEY DONT HAVE... great video, and im sure your channel is amazing. peace

      Get in touch with a professional painter, guitar Luthier (or guitsr shops tech) to give you a quote on making it into a matching headstock and then purchase a genuine fender jaguar decal and decide if you wanna get it put on before they do the clear coat to protect it from being scrapped off or save the decal process last for yourself to save a bit $ after getting the matching headstock finished (just don't get a sunburst model, unless stubborn then expect the sanding off process until removed to be ready for replacing the Squier with the genuine fender jaguar (1965 version i recommend imo its my favorite, tho its your decision and depends also on whats available usually on ebay) decal being put on instead is an even more expensive process thats labor intensive than the much easier, quicker and cooler looking imo matching headstock option that you can put the water decal on top the dried paint as accurately to how it is placed onto the headstock (remember its a 70s jaguar so a '69 decal is an option and anything more or less from 1975 era and is actually period accurate to do over top the clear coat than protected underneath the clearcoat like nowadays so you got choices! Just remember the period correct option will be easy to scrap off the decal and thats not a cheap one like you are guessing I bet 8 bucks or maybe 20 bucks most im gonna assume,, right? Nah its in the $100's+ lmao I know it sucks. But its genuine at least! Don't bother with fake or unspecified if genuine for cheap prices. Its not worth the gamble for shitty decal that won't properly be placed on and even worse is how bad they look and don't look anywhere close to the real.deal which once on can ruin that expensive paint job done in the first place so take it from my research and experience within the 10+ years of modifying and setting up my.guitars myself and paying for it all and that was actually a project I did close with creating a Squier jaguar vm into a 65 jaguar specs with matching headstock the last process left before having to sell and had everything installed or replaced for 65 jag parts and the mute system that was around over 300 bucks for the headstock paint job and decal bought altogether for an idea of price btw. That was around 3.agowas.ago.in 2018 tho so could be different prices now. Good luck!! Hope it works out well for you :)
