AI-driven race cars compete in Abu Dhabi 🏎️💻️

- At the Yas Marina Circut in Abu Dhabi, UAE, motor racing with a difference is underway. The @autonomousracingleague Abu Dhabi Autonomous Racing League in UAE (A2RL) is a racing competition designed to accelerate AI and driverless technology, and possibly start a whole new sport.
While the cars look like ordinary racing cars, there's a major difference: there is no space for a driver. Each car is completely driverless, driven by AI code developed by the eight university-affiliated teams, and a suite of lidar, radar, GPS and camera sensors sit where a driver would traditionally be.
Once the cars are on track there's no human intervention from the teams. Instead, each car will make its own AI-derived decisions in real-time about how fast to go, when to brake, what racing line to take, when to overtake and what risks they're willing to take, which may be higher or lower than human drivers.
It's hoped the technology developed here may help accelerate AI technologies and driverless vehicles in the future.

Is like a 500hp roomba
I don’t mind roomba racing, actually…
And the race was an absolute success. very happy with the results 👍
And through goes the t1000
but here comes t1000
Robot Wars only with F1 cars.
They all failed, what a joke lol. I get its new, so i don't expect folks to get things off at the bat, but this idea has been messed with for the last 4 years atleast, the last 2 if even with an actual car. AI is smart if we program it correctly. I take it, these will have tons of variables down to the small stuff. Will be interesting to see if this goes anywhere, BUT if it does, what for?
Exactly, who would want to watch it? Its like watching a model racetrack with model cars driving round. Cool at first glance but ??? Why would anyone want to watch that.
Failure is always an option
@@KBNFT00like Mini 4WD?
What a load of shit. What's the point ?
Less deAd drivers.
Boa noite galera muito bom corri nessa pista muito bom
Nice
With no lives to be lost, there is scope for making super fast F1 car with no limits - maximum down force, maximum power, minimum weight. I would watch that race.
Sickening
Boring….
Stupidity at highest level. Who will watch? Racing means driver in the car. Other kind of Tesla self driving cars disasters. Just wasting money.
