for the dome cover wires, I found it easier to totally move the Dome Duplicate over to the side to select the correct vertices. And then pop it back into place once the skin modifier was added and it was scaled.
Loving this tutorial, but getting held up when adding the bevel modifier. Changing the number of segments doesn't affect the edges of my lighthouse base and reflect any smoothing. Have rechecked everything so not sure what I'm doing wrong. Any suggestions would be appreciated as I'd love to finish this! Update: Weird thing is when I copy the modifier to the dome is does reflect the bevel modifier correctly. 🤷♀
i got through this first one on half speed and still had to pause the video numerous times lol. I completed it though in about 1.5 hours. IDK if its me but sometimes vertices just wont highlight when i click them. I was having that problem with the metal cage over the dome. I went into wireframe mode and nothing was orange but when I grabbed it, it moved....other than that i didnt have any issues. This is only my 4th day using blender

keep on practicing and I'm sure it will get easier.
Is there a reason you start with a circle and not a cylinder? Is it just preference to extrude for more control?
