This is by far the best I have heard David's vocals live in a long time. They need to do more sessions like this. Very good stuff!!!!!
That's actually what I was thinking too!! Now he is singing a lot better in this video than any of the other live ones in just the past few years
This is around 2012 I think?
I always love Van Halen, EVH we missed U with your guitar...😢
Great voice David!
unbelievable DLR : top class performer
Love VH!!! You guys look great, fresh and young!
ADKOT is awesome. And You and Your Blues is one of the greatest VH songs of all time.
This is more the speed for Roth these days. He looks good doing it here.
awesome Van Halen team
amazing as always, I wish Eddie would post a lesson on this tune
Masterpiece.
This is just so much fun to watch and listen to. The world misses you Eddie........big time.
Good stuff
... My claps and claps from here .....
🔥🔥🔥
The guys just forced me to click the thumbs up at 4:42
E um charme: uma voz gastada pelo tempo, e som da banda como sempre contagiante.
I love how there is a dog in the corner
that song works really well on acoustic, who knew?
wicked
WOW! I'm apparently coming to this video late, but what a JOY!! Would pay double price to have an entire album of classics redone in this vein. It's funny, but there was no need in the separation of Michael Anthony from the lineup. To have an additional layer, of bass or, whatever, other instrument, in modern recordings would have been welcome. It does reveal a little of the Van Halen ego that seems to really be at the root of the discord. There could easily have been a fifth Van Halen member (Wolfie) without incident. VH (collective) is one of the pillars of music history, but they have abused it and damaged their brand. None-the-less, they still shine through such as in this gem of a reminisce. Music, like the Flower, has truly withered and faded. There is not even a current, young guitar virtuoso to my knowledge. Hopefully, I'm mistaken. We apparently have only memories. We're freakin' dying ... HELP! In all truthfulness, Kurt Cobain is really at the core of music's regression. I remember Jim Morrison: - " When the Music's over, Turn out the lights,- - Turn out the lights!" Diamond Dave once said, "I sell smiles for a living .... Have One!?"
No one is selling smiles anymore.
Most musicians could only wet their pants in an attempt to play this.....
PANAMAAA!
XD
I would rather hear this... at 1/2 speed nice change up 'tho
Dave is much better of a session blues singer
speaking as another 60 year old musician...
this is how we have fun...
yep and Amen.
Roth does better acoustic. Maybe he has difficulty hearing live
Love this acoustic version. Also, Dave looks like an 1800's locomotive engineer.
Daniel Lebrun the third Mario Brother
1000% this!!
I thought the same thing
Daniel Diaz-Lebrun or a 1920s newspaper man
Choo choo .This is good and plenty
Did Charlie Watts join Van Halen? Just Kidding...I never could imagine these guys getting older back in 1984 but hey it happens to all of us. You might as well have a good time with it as these guys are!
Man Dave's voice is on point!
I thought this was amazing! I would love to see this down to earth Dave on stage.
Dave sounds AMAZING in these sessions...I think they need to play to his current strengths, rather than forcing the classic sound, when Dave doesn't have it in him anymore.
Good that David extended the bridge part after 2:24. Eddie saved the song after that part by playing so wonderfully. It's almost like "shhhh be quiet David!! Let Eddie play the bridge longer!!."
How does this not have more views with a legend playing?
3 legends
@@bls8959Thank you 😉
The happiness on Eddie's face says it all absolutely 🌹💕❤️💕💙
The dog wants to get in on the act...Must be a Van Halen fan.
This was fun to watch.
Its very true what john 5 said "eddie van halen can pick up an acoustic and it still sounds like eddie van halen"
Im as big a Michael Anthony supporter as there is. He should be in Van Halen right now. Period.
But Ill be damned if Wolfie doesnt NAIL his vocals. This video is proof of that. Especially during the end of the build up to the last chorus. He nails it.
looking back on this in 2022 Eddie knew for some time his time on this earth was limited and he wanted to share this part of his life with his son wouldn't we all I am sure MA understood that he never complained.
van halen october 27 2019 and i wanna rock v a n h a l e n
dave's getting ready to ride the rails!
And you know why? Because he can barely see the road.
3:19 Dave doggo was like "wtf these old guys is doing with the jam?"
Dang this really really cool!!!!
Really a very special moment
take Daves banter out,its a great fucking song
I really enjoyed this! If you are reading this, thanks VH band for so many years of great music and inspiration. At home I severely butcher your songs on my own guitar (no disrespect intended) but this makes me appreciate the work(both composition and performance) you put into them even more. This acoustic performance in black and white gives a very classic feel to the song and shows the broad range of your collective talents. Absolutely awesome guys. The dogs adds a nice touch to the video too.
I love the dog on stage with the band.
Jeff Stanton ALL ABOARD
That Reggie Jackson story is legendary!:)
Eddie be like 'just like the old times' 😍🔥
SHOW... SHOW.... MUITO BOM !!!
This just made my evening 🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤
Dave looks like Mr roper from 3's company
very, very good
Sounds good!
What are the chords?
Take me back then
In memorian eddie van hellen
Amazing!!!!
I love these fun UA-cam channels where some audio engineer messes with the pitches and rhythms so that it sounds out of tune and not at all together. Hilarious!
Geniales!!!!
They sound terrific! So glad I got to hear this. DLR sorta looks like Steve Martin now, but that's not necessarily a bad thing.
Good music best
traded in the disheveled layers of mesh and nylon scarves for disheveled layers of hobo rags
Wicked:);)
WAY COOL!!
This is tight and fun…which has always been Van Halen!
bad fuckin ass!!!
Sounds great but hardly “unplugged”. Lol
The look on Eddie's face at 12:26 looks like it's saying "why did we let him back in the band again?" lol
[Panama] man, Ed sounds and looks like the ole Ed. watch his pick hand, some weird up and down pick plucks and strokes. emm, that's Ed. i see Al over there too.
10-7-16. where is Ed anyway? lol.
They sound ridiculous!!
love this frigging awesome
4:44 the best part of Panama
Crap. Sorry boys
Happy Dog!
whos the bass player ???
Hugo Nongbri Wolfgang Van Halen, Eddies son.
sigh....EVH-always cool, AVH-always cool, WVH-gettin there buddy keep it up
DLR-i cringe whenever i see him. Is it me or does he resemble a terrible used car salesman with a eerie smile...
the good ol days - watch?v=zc4FXHunHMw
the WTF days - watch?v=x-VZ2mrpBZs
Roth ruins this band if he would respect the fact he was giving a second chance and sing the songs the way they were recorded...maybe, but as far as the rest of the band they sound great
Dave started to lose his original voice around 1996, and 2002 was essentially the last gasp. In terms of range, it is what it is…
It would’ve helped if he actually sang all the words…
